Hi all,

My name is Dana. I am new to this forum. I just started my precertification process for my surgery. It takes 6 months so I am looking to have surgery in Dec/Jan. I am looking forward to the journey.

Thank you! I am looking for lots of support because my family does not know I am having it. They have flipped out when I have mentioned it. I work at the hospital I am having the surgery and there are many folks there that have had it.

Welcome to VST.... it's a great journey you have started. The changes we make to our habits, our brain and the way we live makes more of a difference than you can anticipate. The best thing you can do it start working on everything now while in the pre-approval process.

I was self pay so I learned on the fly.... now I help others that want to lose weight. I'm hoping on a new career in the near future. Let me know if I can be of assistance. Sykpe, Facebook, vst or phone. Let me know.

Brook

I'm new here too..... just had my first visit to the surgeon. My insurance doesn't require the 6 month precertification, but I am certain it will be a journey!

My surgeon is out of Wellseley Newton hospital in the Boston area and he has a good strong background in sleeve surgery. I met with a nutritionist and psychiatrist as well as the surgeon. They asked me to lose 5 pounds (that seemed like a small amount of weight to lose) in the next month, keep a food journal, cut out soda completely, exercise 20-30 minutes a day and attend at least 2 more group meetings. I have another appointment on June 1st and I was told that if I do well, they will set a date. Very excited!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
