March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?

Recommended Posts

I am so relieved to find that others have hit a stall in their weight loss, I thought it was just me and I was doing somethng wrong, even though I was not cheating or anything. I had lost 28 lbs then I gained back 2.5 lbs in one week, I about died when I got off the scale - I was sure it was broken or something. I guess I will try some different foods, I have kind of gotten into a rut with my eating. Keep going to the gym or walking too. Thanks to everyone for letting me know I am not alone!

I agree! It makes me feel good to know that most people are in the same boat as me with this dumb stall. I also get discouraged when no one seems to notice my weight loss, is only been 17lbs and I really thought it would be melting off :(

The stall may be broken. I lost 3 lbs last week. I am trying to only weigh once a week on Fridays. But as I get closer to "onderland" I will be weighing more often. 200.2 on Friday. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hello all,

I was sleeved on March 1st and so far, these are my stats:

Highest weight 282

Weight at Surgery 252

Weight today 233.6

I am thrilled with the sleeve although I am not a fast loser--never have been before the surgery or after! I could be discouraged, but this is 18.4 pounds that I don't have anymore! I am in it for the long haul and I know that I am not getting in very many calories. I have to be very purposeful to get my Protein and Water now that I am eating more regular food. If I eat carbs, I can't find space for Protein. Even veggies are hard to fit but I am working on it and trying to SLOW down my eating. This is my biggest challenge. I don't miss eating more food, but I do find that there is less pleasure in the thought of gathering with friends to eat since my eating consists of so little (I am mostly a social eater). By the time I take a few bites, I seem to be done! I go to bed and awaken thanking God for this tool and dreaming of my outfits I will wear when I am at a smaller size! Little by little, day by day I am moving forward! Love you all and love to read your words!

Not alone yay. My stall has lasted 3 weeks I would say. I was sleeved on 3/16. I have lost 14 lbs. please tell me this isn't it. I started at a 30 BMi but I was a band to sleeve revision. The doc told me it wouldn't take long to lose it all. Well to me I keep reading how great everyone does and I want to see my scale move too.

Have u tried switching up food, I was on stall for 1 week, decided to switch it up by oatmeal with yogurt for Breakfast twice a week, 1 egg with 1 oz of cheese, 1 day, the other days Protein shake with fruit.< /p>

lunch salad, with chicken or ff ham. Or cottage cheese with fruit or Protein,

Supper protein salad or broccoli/ cauliflower.

This seemed to help lost 2 lbs, after that 1week stall,

Do not forget take your measurements sometimes that scale is not our friend, inches are just as important.

I had my surgery march 8 down 33 lbs, 16 inches from a size 20 to a 14 already.

I get on the scale everyday, only because I know this will keep me on track, it also helps me plan on my meals during the day, but this is not for everyone, some need to only get on that scale once a week, and measure yourself once aweek

The stall will end, you will lose loads of weight

Thanks for posting canadianprairiega! I haven't tried oatmeal or salad yet. My diet thus far is still pretty bland. I have egg whites and sausage for Breakfast, cheese stick for snack, chili for lunch, Greek yogurt for snack, and some sort of Protein for dinner.

It feels like I'm losing slowly and suddenly I have a major sense of urgency to see the scale move. I had my one month post op last week. The doc gave me a goal of 154 within the next five months. Honestly I sat there and giggled in disbelief when he set that goal. He assured me that I could do it, but I can't even picture myself at that weight. It seems so unreal. So, now I'm using MFP and exercising. Hopefully the scale will move.

My current stats- presurgery 235, surgery weight 212, current weight 191.

Do not forget to check sodium in what you eat, sausage usually has high sodium. This is why I eat fat free ham, sodium will hold the Water, so check that out too.

I started eating the oatmeal 3 rd week in, it is soft,, so was told it would be fine. Do not eat much of it, 1/4 of a bowl fills me.

Hello Everyone!

I had my surgery on 3/22. Since I weighed 317lbs the day of the surgery. This morning I weighed 295lbs. My monthaversary is tomorrow, so it looks like 22lbs total for month 1. While I did expect more, I'm not disappointed. I realize that I'm not running a race here and no matter how much someone else loses its only my weight loss that really matters. Whenever I find my thoughts wondering towards things like what I'm missing food wise I remind myself that I'm not the same person who has lost weight so many times before only to gain it all back. My life and relationship with food has changed. As for the weight loss, I know that I didn't gain it all in a day or a month or even a year. Is it realistic to expect to hit my target weight right away? Of course not! Although it may sound strange, but I'm really making an effort to enjoy my journey to fitness.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
