It's Done --- I Am Sleeved!

Recommended Posts

So, the hard part is over. I had my surgery on Tuesday and came home yesterday evening. I did give everyone a little scare though.

I told the doctor that I am hard to wake from anesthisia. Apparently, they tried to wake me in the recovery room and I woke up (I don't remember any of this). After a minute I fell back on the table and stopped breathing. They tried bagging me but every time they stopped, I stopped breathing. They finally had to intubate me again. And then they sent me to ICU. I woke up around 9:00PM and was freaking because of the tube down my throat. They had to restrain me until they could get the doctor's permission to remove the breathing tube. Once that was out, I was fine. They wound up keeping me in ICU until I was released.

But this had NOTHING to do with the surgery, it was because of anesthisia. I'm drinking Clear liquids today and everything is going fine. I havent needed to take any pain meds yet. But I am very tired slept a lot today and about to take another nap.

Now the journey to being a normal size person begins. I can't wait until I get there!

Wow that sounds scary! I've had similar situations several times with other surgeries so I definitely know how that feels. I'm glad you are ok however.

Congrats on your new sleeve!! May you lose to your goal safely and with much health!!

Glad that you were at a place that had an ICU. I know that some places that they do the surgeries are more like outpatient clinics and if they need an ICU they have to be transferred by ambulance. I am glad that things turned out well for you and I wish you all the best on your journey and "NEW LIFE"

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
