Well, I've been home since yesterday morning and I feel like i'm doing pretty well. I can move to full liquids tomorrow and I'm looking forward to trying some pureed yogurt. As far as pain goes, yesterday I was taking my liquid lortab every 4 hours almost on the dot, today I've been able to stretch it to the 6 hour limit. I'm hoping to wean myself off a little bit more each day.

How long did some of you wait before driving again? I know it says to wait until your not taking the lortab so that's my plan.

I will talk to you again in a couple of days on the loser's bench!! Woohoo!!!!!

Just a question and sorry if it's been covered before or TMI.

I had my surgery Friday. I've been on Clear Liquids since and I can go to full liquids tomorrow. I've been farting but no bowel movement. I'm pretty sure the farting is just getting the extra gas out and I'm good with farting as opposed to burping. Burping seems to hurt a bit.

Since I haven't been eating a whole lot I can't imagine having a bowel movement in the near future, but how long did it take you?

I'm allowed to drive starting tomorrow and I can't wait!! Being stuck in this house is hard. I down 19lbs. The 1st week I was losing 2lbs a day and the second week about a 1lbs a day :Banane23: . Some of my shoes are too big now. I'm ready for for soft food..........Really tried of the liquid diet. I stop using chicken broth and move over to chicken noodle Soup, Tomato Soup, potato soup. Hi Drea, Glad to hear you are doing very well. I was sleeved on the 16th and doing well also, I did have stomach spasms everytime I would drink for about a week but now that is over. Like you, it seems like I have no limitations of the amount of things I do. Just been busy running here and there. I glad to hear you progress to different Soups. For your dry mouth, my nutritionist said you can chew sugar free gum, that seems to help me, but just remember you need to keep a close eye on your liquid intake and make sure you are not getting dehyrated. Keep up the good work. I have lost 18lbs (including my loss with my pre op diet)

Hi Tif,

I am 2 1/2 weeks out now and the the first two weeks I had only 2 BM's. Passing gas is a very good thing, my doctor told me in the hospital, it means your system is starting to recover from surgery and starting to work properly again, tho it does take some time for a BM, as long as your not feeling constipated.

I drove home from the airport :) I've not had any pain meds since saturday though. I made sure the seatbelt didn't fall on any inscisions first though.

Tif 2.0 - it was several days before I had a BM. I had surgery on a Monday and I think it was Thursday or Friday, but I know it was by Friday. Then it was every 2-4 days but just a tiny bit. When I moved to pureed Soups it was about the same frequency but a little more and on soft foods it's 2-3 days and again, a little more.

Anyone start their period? Or I am the only one. Yea, what fun this is. It hasn't even been a week since surgery. I was hoping to get over the initial pain before I had to do acrobatics for a tampon.

Yes, I've been in pretty good spirits up until this morning and right now I'm cranky.

That sucks! I was lucky, mine was done and over the few days before surgery. Feel better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
