I hope you are able to stomach the Unjury better than I. I tried only the chicken and the vanillia, Both were bad enough to gag a maggot in my opinion and way more went down the drain than down my throat.

I was sleeved on 01/30/12 and I've been through a lot of protein shakes. I am so glad to have found Syntrex Nextar Sweets. My favorite one is the Chocolate Truffle. I just bought a tub of that one. I also like the vanilla bean torte, and the strawberry. I just do ice, water, and a little powdered chocolate peanut butter I bought from amazon. Its really yummy and I started with the samples from BJsBariatrics. These are the best tasting protein shakes out there.

'couse it's a problem, but with an easy solution.
Most of our food is communal, but not one person in this house will eat the last bit of something without asking.
It's understood that there are some things that are for me only like certain Soups, high Protein crackers, my Protein powder and some other things. I will offer them some of my protein ice cream or things I make, but they wouldn't just go eat it.
My husband and daughter know that I measure and weigh my food. Leftover meat usually goes into my lunch the next day so they make sure I have enough.
They also know that they can eat anything in the house and I cannot. It's just common courtesy.
I don't think he's eating your stuff because he sees that it healthy. He's eating it because it's convenient. He also may in a small way want to be a part of this.
You can buy him the same stuff, but make a shelf and a drawer in the frig and a shelf in the pantry for YOU ONLY. Make it clear. If he gets hurt feelings, just explain it to him.

rahnava - we were sleeved just a day apart and it seems like we're moving at the same rate. I've lost 64 pounds since surgery (31 before), so were almost weight loss twins. I get discouraged when I hear of super fast weight loss that some experience. But I try to always remember that slow and steady wins the race.

Your weight loss is not slow. It's not super fast like some folks get, but a lot depends on your genetics and how old you are, along with starting BMI. 60 pounds is amazing! You are right on track for YOU!
    Keep up the great work!

Hi, Rahnava... I too was sleeved by Dr. Garcia..Surgery day was April 27.. So far I've lost 55.3 lbs post op, but I lost 16 lbs pre op..for a total of 71 lbs.
I completely understand about the 5-6 lb weight gain during TOM. I'm currently going through it right now and its' so frustrating, but even if we're smaller and at our goals this would still happen..I see it as one of the woe's of being a woman..
You'll break out of the 60's I'm sure of it.. I was stuck for about 3 wks at 300 lbs and within 2 days... i literally dropped 4.5 lbs. I upped my workouts and spent more time outside sweating and I believe that helped a lot...
I agree with Lauranbob... 60lbs in 6months is awesome! Sure we'd like for it to be more, but I've found that we all lose differently.. I've read on here where some have lost 100 lbs by month 4 but that clearly isn't in the cards for me.. As long as we're losing that's what's important, right?
My goal is to lose 9-10 lbs a month. Anything extra is just icing on the cake... Sometimes I've exceeded that and other times like this month I have not.. I've only lost 7.8 lbs for July, but it's 7.8 lbs less on me than before. I have about 100 lbs to loose myself. So I figured 9-10 lbs in a month in a 10 month period is feasible. I don't think I'm reaching for the stars with that amount...
We can do this!! Set backs..stall's or whatever you call them are bound to happen.. But as long as we're following the plan we can't lose...
    Stay encouraged, okay?

I got on the scale this morning...thinking...please god let me be in the 300's finally...and low and behold...the scale read 399.6! I haven't been below 400 in 6 years! I am soooooooooooo excited I want to cry! Next goal...get to 350...whil is just 49.6 pounds away...That will be the smallest I have been in 10+ years...This tool actually is working! I was sooo afraid I would be the one that it wouldn't work for. I know that I could be down more if I would excercise more and be stricter on myself...but losing slow is a good thing too! Less skin to deal with hopefully!!

Idk what it is lol. I have a personal blender with its own cup, it was $29 at Walmart, made by Oster. It has 1 speed and it was mixed perfectly. I would say to blend it though. And if I were using a fruity one i'd probably just use Water. You could always strain it through a sieve to get clumps out if it's that bad. ? Idk what else to tell you, sorry!

Totally normal! I've had a few days of it and my PA says more days are coming. It's from the hormones we are releasing when we lose weight. I finally just told my husband that he had to promise to tell me when I stink; otherwise I'll do what I can. And, yes, bought some Clinical Strength Secret Sport deodorant. What fun!

I've heard that it can happen when you eat "too much" protein....too much with the sleeve is hard to define ....I'm guessing it's just your body going through changes/balances....

What I find interesting now is that the sleeve restriction is not directly helping me, it's the habits that are ingrained now at 15 months post-op. I eat mostly the same things each day and in the quantities I ate 8 months ago. I am baffled by topics that say "I am X months out and I can eat X amount of X food." I don't know how many slices of pizza I can eat, or hamburgers, or chicken nuggets, because I have a portion set in my mind and that's what I eat. I eat 3 jumbo shrimp. I eat 2.5-3.0 oz of steak. I eat 3 broccoli florets. I don't know if I can eat more (I suspect I can) but I don't. I know that if I try to overeat my sleeve will stop me but I don't test the limits. I eat sweets but I am not obsessed by them anymore. I don't eat rice or soft bread as they feel bad no matter what quantity I consume but I enjoy toast and crackers.
I guess I feel like I eat now the way I thought naturally skinny women ate when I was fat--in small portions but not denying themselves anything.
I am so grateful to this surgery for allowing me to make these discoveries.

Backstory: I'm 12 pounds away from the lowest weight I've been since I was 18 (I'm 55). I work mainly with three others: A skinny one with a potbelly, a skinny vegan who sneaks meat, and a petite slightly pudgy.
Petite pudgy looks at my lunch and says, "Everyday, the food level in your containers gets higher and higher." I look at her chips, PB&J, and apple, and tell her that I pack 2 -3 days' worth of food in one container so that I don't have to rush around every morning to put a lunch together. She rolls her eyes.
Skinny potbelly, who used to sneer as she looked me up and down, asked at an office birthday, "You're not going to have just ONE ice-cream sandwich? Really?" She is developing "bra bulge," and she wants me to eat crap.
Sneaking vegan grills me for signs of sleeve complications. "Are you SURE that you're doing okay? You're not sick?" Meanwhile, she eats mostly corn, potatoes, and Pasta, now with a bit of meat sauce.
    Grrrr.

I had an attack when I was 16 weeks pregnant. It was painful and I wouldn't with the pain or fear on anyone. I am glad i had the surgery, even while pregnant. I was already scared because I had a miscarriage before getting pregnant with this child so I was scared to lose the baby again. I have my daughter, I don't have a jacked-up gall bladder, and I am happy with my decision. I am not religious so I cannot on what God put in me, but I do know I have a mind to make decisions about my health. You may just be scared about surgery. Think about it before you cancel.

I heard it all too. Everyone tried to talk me out of it. Many presented "convincing" arguments, usually not based on any sort of medical fact, but instead on hearsay. I did it anyways because it just felt right for some reason. I'm almost 2 weeks out and I'm already loving how much I don't ned to eat, how freed I feel frommy constant hunger. I wouldn't go back if you paid me!

Obviously I had an unhealthy relationship with food if I needed to get this surgery, and something needed to change. Granted I'm only 3 weeks out but even eating my mushiness feels like a chore. Anyone else get this feeling? Does it pass?

Honestly I would have flipped. The story with the trash in your food is kind of crazy! In his mind he probably is thinking you are full or soon to be so he just put his stuff in there. He really was thinking at the moment. If he does it again then I don't know what to tell you. I'd just say, stand your ground, and ask for consideration. In general regardless if I'm done or the person is done first at the table, we start getting ready to leave together.

1 month ago today I was sleeved and have had a great experience. Thank you to everyone on here for sharing questions and answers. I don't know what I would do without this board.
I hit my 3 week stall a little early and still seem to be in a stall for weight loss. I am not concerned since the pants I just wore last week are sort off falling down today so I know I am losing inches. woohoo! I was wondering how long your first stall lasted?

You should pull up articles about the crime in your area or in the US as a whole. Of course, the news is going to feature all of the negative things, if all they put on the news was positive things, no one would watch. I just went to Tijuana last week and I saw no crime, it was beautiful there.
