  1. BJs Bariatrics and those sample packs saved me a lot of money. Now I know which ones I like and don't like. The Lemonade Flavor = gag!
  2. Circa I started day of surgery 10 pounds less than your highest weight, so you are a good example of super fast! I am proud of you. I am trying not to be discouraged because its a process. When I see how close I am to being in the 200s I just get a little impatient. 15 pounds!!!! c'mon!
  3. Thank you o voice of reason. Sometimes I guess it takes someone else to put it into perspective .
  4. I haven't posted in a while. I was sleeved on Jan 30th 2012 by Dr. Garcia in Mexico. I've lost 60 pounds so far and I've hit many stalls, especially when it is that time of the month. I go up 5-6 pounds and then go back down, never breaking over 60 pounds. my hair is thinning even though I take all of my Vitamins and buy good hair products. I drink a Protein shake every day for Breakfast, but usually eat a small meal for lunch and dinner. I am glad that I am making progress even though I have a long way to go. I need to lose about 140 more pounds to be at a comfortable weight. I know we are all different, but I wonder if I am on target. I wonder if I am the norm. I will be 6 months out on July 30th.
  5. I also have the personal blender with the cup from Oster. I have one for work and one for home. They come in cool colors (green, blue, orange). I let it run for at least a minute and it makes a slushie. I use the plastic straws that go with the insulated cups with lids and they are yummy. Syntrex necter is the best!
  6. Ok I bought the Dove Clinical Strength this morning and it seems to be helping. I may try some lemons. Thanks for responding.
  7. Hi Guys! Long time no see! I was sleeved on Jan 30th this year and I am at 59 pounds lost which may not be a lot, but is plenty for me. So here's the issue: I stink! I wear deodorant and take 2 showers a day. I just got out of the shower after washing with a fresh washcloth and deodorant soap. After I dried off my pits smelled like a Whopper Jr. with extra onions. I think I may need clinical strength deodorant. Is this happening to anyone else? At this point I am not embarrassed because this is part of the process. I just want to know that I am not alone.
  8. I was sleeved on 01/30/12 and I've been through a lot of protein shakes. I am so glad to have found Syntrex Nextar Sweets. My favorite one is the Chocolate Truffle. I just bought a tub of that one. I also like the vanilla bean torte, and the strawberry. I just do ice, water, and a little powdered chocolate peanut butter I bought from amazon. Its really yummy and I started with the samples from BJsBariatrics. These are the best tasting protein shakes out there.
  9. I lost 45 pounds my first month, but nothing in the past couple of months. I guess we all are different.
  10. I had an attack when I was 16 weeks pregnant. It was painful and I wouldn't with the pain or fear on anyone. I am glad i had the surgery, even while pregnant. I was already scared because I had a miscarriage before getting pregnant with this child so I was scared to lose the baby again. I have my daughter, I don't have a jacked-up gall bladder, and I am happy with my decision. I am not religious so I cannot on what God put in me, but I do know I have a mind to make decisions about my health. You may just be scared about surgery. Think about it before you cancel.
  11. I was sleeved on 01/30 and I've been in a stall for two weeks now. 38 pounds lost total. I haven't found my vitamins yet, but I take vitamin B-12 and Omeprozole every morning. It helps a lot.
  12. If someone was asking me what hospital I was at it was Mi Doctor.
  13. I haven't had my period since 2010 (endometrial ablation) and I just has the worst period and pain for the past couple of days. I am set for an ultrasound next week and had a pelvic exam today. Get checked out.
  14. I was sleeved on Jan 30th with Dr. Garcia and to date I've lost 38 pounds. He is awesome. The worst thing to happen to me is gas and my first menstrual cycle since 2010 (had an endometrial ablation). Other than that I've been fine. His staff is amazing and he sent me an email to check on my progress. He is awesome.
  15. Ok so first of all hey Shelly. i am from New Orleans, work in Metairie, and live in Laplace. Howdy. Secondly I was sleeved on 01/30/12 and haven't had a period since 2010...until two days ago. Cramps, bleeding, doubled over in pain. I was told that the amount of estrogen we have is based on our body fat. i've lost 38 pounds so far so that made the estrogen go out of whack and thus that period from hell begins. I even made an appointment with my GYN for tomorrow. I was scared too. Now that I have a reasonable explaination, I'm ok. I want to go back to no periods so maybe when my weight loss slows down I can not have a period any more.
  16. I will be 4 weeks out on Monday and I hit a stall. 32 pounds lost for my first month, none this week. I need some tips to get out of the stall.
  17. yaaaay!!! I am glad to see you are doig fine. Just keep walking and resting. Let me know how your experience turns out. You are on the losers bench now baby!!!!
  18. I take Omeprazole every day or I will have heartburn or reflux too. I drink. I've had better results with drinking. It seem like since I started regular foods my weight loss slowed down.
  19. Yay! I can't see it, but my pants are lose. Congrats!
  20. I've lost 23 pounds since surgery and although I cannot see it or feel it, my scale is not lying to me. I am sooo tired of Soup and this weekend I graduated myself to fish and other mushy watery foods with no problems. People at work are wondering how I bounced back so quickly and why do I look so good and fresh. Ummm how am I supposed to look, like the Grim Reaper? I am so proud that I pulled this off and made this change for the better. I know I am just at the beginning and I have a looong way to go, but in two weeks I've managed to get back to the weight I was when I went to get the lapband. That was my mini goal and I made it! Yay! I named my new tummy Banny (like belly but prounounced Ban ne) lol I know ya'll are laughing at me, but most importantly ya'll are laughing with me. Thanks for the encouragement and a place where we all have something in common. --Raja and Banny :Banane59:
  21. I told you the hospital was clean and everyone was nice! Please let us know how you are doing. You will be out for a while. Take care. --Raja
  22. I used thin beef salami and it was awesome!!!
  23. It is often considered a clear liquid. Chime in guys to verify.
  24. I have a little over 200 to lose. I am 12 days out and l am hungry, but doing well. I am about to do mushies and I am ready to eat. I am working on not obsessing over food, but I keep thinking of baby back ribs. Sorry guys for the thought. I am working on it. I am happy and am looking for something else to do with my time. When I am able to I will start walking and obsessing on exercising.
  25. I had someone at work say in a joking way that I am "cheating". She weighs under 150 and is very tall, she doesn't know how it feels to be obese. I just looked at her and said "b*#$%h please, you will never get it" and moved on. Someone will always say something stupid. They know that unless you are making my meals, wiping my butt, paying my bills, or in my shoes, I really don't care if you think I am "cheating" or not! You guys now this is hard mental and physical work!!! This is not easy for any of us. We got cut to save our lives, some of us multiple times with revisions. I say forget people like that. You are doing well. Don't let any one discourage you, EVER!
