Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

Recommended Posts

Many of y'all know I used to work out big time. Weight training, one hard day of cardio, and major toning. In February, I had my gallbladder removed, and kicked the workout bug to the curb (Doc's orders for 6 weeks post gb removal), and never got my mojo back.

SO, in attempts to put it out in the universe; DECEMBER 1st, I'm hitting the gym again. I have a mini-gym in my garage, and I'm going to start lifting again, and do 2 days of cardio and toning. I'm flabby, and jiggly everywhere except my calves and lower thighs. I can only attribute that to wearing heels constantly.

I know I'd do better with an accountability partner, but none of my friends here have the time to workout. I'm going to have to do it on my own. Since I get up so early in the morning, I'm going to get back into a routine. Unass the recliner, and get toned up again. I might be a size 2, but under these rocking skinny jeans, I'm jello-like and it's getting on my nerves.

My husband is super supportive, but I'd like to throat punch him when we work out together so that's not a good idea. I love him, but when we workout together, I would like to gently smother him.

Anyone else struggle with routine working out? I hate walking, and tedious working out really grates my nerves. I'm hoping to see marked improvement by March/April, and maybe just maybe be in a bikini by next summer.

I'm going to do 4 days a week. 1 hard day of cardio, and 3 days of lifting and toning exercises. No more excuses of "there's not enough time", I have tons of time, it's the motivation and drive that's lacking. I did secretly buy a bikini top and hid it in my drawer so I can have a "goal" to work towards, so we'll see how this goes.

If anyone wants to join me, keep each other accountable, let me know ! ! !

cool, that's great - i am sure you will be able to accomplish your goal,...you just need some toning and that's it. you'll be ready in a few months. the hard thing is maintaining your exercise regimen during the holidays....

Ok so I have not posted anything lately, but yes I am still working out. Yesterday I had a milestone I ran/walked five miles on the treadmill. I was so excited 4 months ago I could not walk even half of that, let alone run two steps. I was feeling proud of myself. Since working out I have done a pilates class, a step class, and after a few more pounds I'm going to try spinning. I hope everyone else is doing well on their workouts.

Wow Sunshine, great job!!!! :)

Keep up the great work everyone!

I finally did a little something yesterday, and I'm feeling MUCH better today. I think I needed to start sweating out that bug, and this morning I feel really good. I have 10.2 Lbs to lose in 3 weeks. That's less than my currently weekly average!! I'd like to really push as hard as I can to get there. So... I'm gonna get back to my normal routine, with an hour a day 6 days a week - and I'm gonna eat like, zero carbs if I can help it... LOL :) My only carbs will come from my Protein shakes and my veggies or some cheese.

I will post what I end up doing today. LETS DO IT!!!

4 WEEKS POST OP! I've been able to workout on my WII for 30 mins step and yoga two days a week. Walking everyday for 2 miles on the treadmill. Never in a million years would I have thought that working out would be part of daily routine.

It feels great!

Man, my bootcamp pass expired today, so this morning was the last time my boyfriend and I could go....Friday night, I asked him to wake me up in case I wasn't up in time, and of course, I wake up today and realize it's already 30 mins past start time! The bastard didn't wake me up! Claimed he "forgot the time." Considering how many times he stated that he didn't wanna go the day before, I strongly suspect it was NOT a coincidence. I guess we're gonna head to the community gym tomorrow. I couldn't push myself as hard on my own as I do in bootcamp, but I guess I can do some jogging/sprinting and heavy weightlifting, which is different from what I've been doing for the past 5 weeks or so. ARGH!

Today is arms and legs for me, PLUS I have been eying these bellydancing shows on FitTv for about a month now. It airs at 3pm CST, so I'll be watching that, and I've set a reminder for Monday - Friday so I can do it every day on top of my normal routines. It's movement, it looks fun, and I would give anything for my body to look like those women ! ! ! I'm hoping my friend gets me my brazil butt dvds soon. I'm anxious to get my hiney in shape.

Great job everyone ! ! ! Keep it up.

juice - I have a feeling it wasn't a coinkydink either ! ! !

HOLY CRAP- that bellydancing is NO JOKE. . . I felt my core muscles, butt muscles and thighs all working. 20 minutes

I also managed 40 leg lifts (each leg), 50 stand up crunches, 60 bicep curls, 30 skull crushers, and then I did 40 reps of this whole table press thing. Use your coffee table squat facing away from the table, using the palms of your hands to support you, drop into a squat position and push up with your arms only. They do this exercise on the Biggest loser, I have no idea what it's called, but HOLY SMOKES I could feel the burn in my back and triceps. The trainers on BL usually have the contestants balancing on the seat of a weight bench, or other bench of some sorts.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
