I thought average was 60%.. now I'm gonna have to recalculate. . Lol... anyway I started at 250lbs and am currently 192 in less than 4 months (sleeved 10/21). I will be at 60% when I hit 184lb. My loss was 4-5days lbs per week for a long time then went to a couple of tenths per week now about 2lbs per week. I figure once I hit the "average" 60-65% it will start getting harder. I haven't done much exercise yet but I plan to start in the spring. I use mfp to log my food. I don't stress over it but it keeps me accountable to myself and I don't think I would ever hit my Protein goals without it. Also I would probably eat either 200 calories a day or 5000 calories a day if I didn't keep track. For me this surgery was about change. I may not always like it but I will continue to log my food and track my calories and protein so if I end up regaining in the future I can plainly see why and make adjustments. Also I struggle with getting in enough Water so logging helps me push it.

I personally wanted to lose 130 lbs to be 130lbs. I was never given a goal.

In 1 year I have lost 100 lbs. I have still been losing slow and steadily since I stopped working out reguarly.

I hope to lose 3-40 more lbs. However long it takes it takes.

An average is just that an average. Some people lose all the weight + and others do not lose any or very little ( see my 600lb life on tlc for instance)

Good luck.

its very imp to work out and be careful of your diet.I was always lazy and prefered to pie down saying my legs were aching. But now I walk many times during the day though slow.I have mad up my mind to make the sleeve work and be healthy and fit for life.

I am almost a year out and I have hit my goal set by the NUT, however, my own personal goal was number based (150) and I think it is still seen in my ticker. That was set when I was in pre op stage. Now, that I am almost a year out, I can write WITH CONFIDENCE that the 150 mark doesn't even matter to me anymore. I have been able to do so much more than I could before and I am VERY happy with that.

Now my goal has moved into something more challenging and meaningful like hiking the next mountain, playing baseball with my sons, or shopping with my daughter and being able to try on different clothes without feeling like 'every stores doesn't have my size'.

I think the goal set forth should be about perspective. Yeah the # part helps to keep you in line, but it can also cause so much stress when trying to solely focus on just the % of amount lost.

my goal is to live with out NSAIDS .be fit and healthy. Before sleeve i was getting cramps, had pain in calves, back ache could stand for even 2 minutes due to circulation problems.

all these problems have vanished!!! I was taking 5,6 pain killers daily for arthritic pain. Now no tablets just a liquid pain killer sometimes.

I am confident that with more weight loss I will walk better.

I had my surgery one week ago. I am on puree/liquid status. My level of hunger is far greater than what I was told to expect. The surgeon states that the hunger will decrease over time. I certainly am underestimating how much less food I am eating as compared to before the surgery, even though I am eating and drinking continuously throughout the day. Maybe my hunger is really less or I am geting full faster. It is somewhat confusing.

Your stomach doesn't know what the heck is happening... just follow your docs rules, under eat if you are worried you are eating too much...and get in your Water at first...things will get better soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
