Ear Plugs. They saved my sanity. The hospital was so loud and noisy as well as my room mate her family.

I sent my husband out for the gas ex strips, nose spray and tweezers( something about surgery sent my few annoying facial hairs to grow overtime)

I did need my robe, but stayed in the hospital gowns and used the slipper socks they put on me before surgery.

They gave me a cough bear that they put a tshirt on with the hospital logo and the name Bari Bear on it. (not sure if I like that bariatic term on it) and it was huge in helping walking and getting up and coughing.

MY Hospital gave out ear plugs when I was in the hospital having my Band taken out.. I could not understand why. I will prob be given them again.. when I go in for the Sleeve..I did not need them..

I took my phone, my charger, chapstick (A MUST), baby wipes, tissues, a few Water bottles... And that's pretty much it. I got a puke cup and extra pillows from my hospital nurses who were VERY nice and helpful.

Thank you so much for posting the checklist. I'm scheduled for my psych evaluation on Monday and the dietician on Tuesday. I'm hoping to get a date scheduled for sometime in January. I'm so thankful for this list, it takes a bit of the mystery out of my upcoming surgery.

If your same day surgery, I would wear same clothes.

If your staying 1-2 nights I would bring a small duffle bag with Chapstick, brush, dental stuff perfume, deodorant, iPad, magazine, and a change of underwear.....pj's and socks

QUESTION:

"I'm having surgery soon, what will I need for my hospital stay or for shortly after???"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay ladies and gentlemen, this question comes up here so much - I felt it would be a great idea to start up an official thread. My plan is once I think the list is great enough, I'm going to create a checklist for all the folks out there that will be sleeved shortly and have the above question. Then if you are around long enough and as much as I am, and someone has that question you can just lead them to this thread. Fair enough?
Sometimes its just nice to have everything all in the same place, kinda following the Walmart rule of thumb. They are very successful, aren't they?
Anyway, please start with your suggestions and I'll get my MSWord fired up. ;-) I'll also start with the first suggestion:
Comfy Pajamas, underclothes and slippers or warm cozy socks...
Regarding supporting your tummy when moving...my idea is SPANX! :P It will hold your tummy in when you get up or move.
I had bad experience with this issue when I had the band...my tummy hung down a bit and it felt like I was carrying a bag of cement and it hurt! :blink:
      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.
      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
