Dezadoo-I'd like to join the bar fly, floozie, biotch club. You can be president(btw I don't think you have it in you to be a biotch-you're so nice-I want to be like you when I grow up -lol)

Biggirlpantiez can be our spokesmodel in that dress!! Does it come with those cheekbones? (you don't sound braggy at all-that is sooo exciting and we are proud and inspired!!!)

Ruthie can be our resident super hero only we'll drop the big part and you'll be Beautiful Wonder Woman-able to rid the earth of all evil doers with cameras that add 200lbs.

I cut my finger once and was in triage at the er with my DH and they asked me my weight. I looked at the nurse, then at my DH, back at the nurse and she says-"why don't you just write it down for me" I could have kissed her-

ericsmom-the way your sister is acting sounds like my bff from nursing school. She had been very quiet and weirdly competitive since my surgery. About really dumb stuff (I got here first!!, we bought a new car!!etc) Is your sister overweight??

My friend is and I feel like I broke our unwritten contract ...oh well-I will survive hey, hey(dancing around computer singing just like Gloria Gaynor!!)Okay maybe not just like but you get the picture.

It's great you have supportive parents-nothing beats a dad hug!!

Michelle - no my sister is not overweight - she never was until she had two kids and was probably up about 50 lbs. Then she got involved in Herbalife and dropped it all and now she's a size 6, I would guess, and according to her hubby obsesses with her weight so as to not go there again. I am built like my dad's side of the family and she is like my mom's. She just has a quirky personality that sometimes just makes me go "hhmmmm". She and I have never been super close, but as adults we are doing much better than when we were kids. And yes, hugs from my dad are the BEST!!

Hey Steph, I think the situation Michelle mentioned hit the nail on the head about your sis, she's quietly competetive with you. But you'll never really know if you don't ask her whats up. Maybe she feels since you take after your dad's side of the family you and he always had a 'special' bond that she just didn't get have? I mean who knows really, but if you are really curious about it just ask her. Do you have other sisters? I only have one and she's probably the person Im closest to in the world next to my husband. We get into it once in awhile but the thing that keeps us bonded is our honesty with each other, we both know how important we are to each other. In fact her and my husband are the only ppl who know about my lapband. I guess my point is, is that its good to always try to deepen relationships that are important to you. But if she just won't, or just can't because of some mental problem or something then at least you know in your heart you gave it your best effort and its HER problem. And then you've got to just let it go. And maybe you are already at that point too have tried to work it out with her. Thats where im at with my mother, Ive tried to be closer to her but after awhile I just realized we are two totally differant ppl and its not possible for me to let my guard down completely around her. I've even spoken with a professional about it. Sometimes its healthy to build a wall to protect yourself from someone I think. My mom is very competetive with me. I think jelousy is the worst emotion, and ruins many a relationship. LOL ok im going to stop typing now because I could sit here and type all day apparantly.

ericsmom-I was reading posts and I noticed that you have lost 48lbs??

WOW-that is so impressive!!! You should be doing the dance around the computer too-may I suggest -Can't Touch This by MC Hammer while

wearing your HUGE 4x pants??:drum:

murphsMCHammer.jpg

I probably need a hobby.

KariK,-you are very insightful-your Mom is missing out on a great daughter.

My father and I don't speak-he has never met his youngest grandchildren and is too proud/stubborn/psychotic to meet me half way.Every once in a while I get a pang of hurt about the situation but then I remember he is toxic to me which filters down to my family and I happen to like them most days. So no thank you. I'll watch and dream...Where the hell is Alice and why is there so much laundry?:) I'll bet she's over at Sam's house again. Hussy housekeeper.:)

bradys.gif

Yes it is official-I need a hobby and evidently psychotherapy.

1. My husband does know how much I weigh and so does my sister, my best friend, and maybe some others I've met on here.

2. I will put down some of my most embarrasing moments...not just one...a. getting on the batman ride at Six Flags. It is one of those rides where your feet hang and when the over the shoulder harness came down and then you have to buckle a seatbelt deal it was almost too tight. I told the guy just to push it in (the contraption against my stomach) so he could buckle it. It worked, but pretty embarrassing. Later, I learned they have one seat that is for "bigger people" and I got in that one and it worked better.

b. I needed a seatbelt extender on an airplane. I always get a little stressed flying, as I wonder if the seatbelt will fit me or if I'm alone and don't have my kids sitting next to me and I will overflow some to someone else's seat. I've only needed the extension once, but a couple other times, it was a pretty tight fit.

Michelle,

You really keep me laughing on here!!! Thanks!!! Laughter is such great medicine.

Biggirlpantiez: I agree...You can be the spokesmodel!!!

Steph: You go girl!!

All of you: We are on our way to being healthy and HOT and there will be those who can't stand it...jealousy, insecurity, or whatever...but then we will have those who are cheering us on that we can be thankful for...and we have each other on here to be honest with and to get encouragement. Thank you July crew!! These posts have helped me a great deal, along with some of the new friendships...

Hi guys and I totally volunteer to be the super-hero ONLY if I get to wear that cute outfit Linda Carter did (when nearer to goal weight of course). And I am one of those strange people who don't mind being referred to as big......just not the horrible "f" word. I have legs that are four feet long and in my single/thinner days wore my Halloween costume "Scarlett O'Terror" lady wrestler with pride. Yeah baby, bring it on. Oh and no "Jolly Green Giant" comments either.....always hated that one too.

And Stephanie...you hang in there and ignore sister. I adore both of mine but honestly if anyone can get next to me or hurt me it is one of them. It's like they know EXACTLY how to annoy you. And yea for Daddy hugs.

Mary- omg I thought you were going to say the harness came loose on the ride. Good for you for going on it though....most of us would have stood at the bottom of the ride wishing we had the nerve to risk the seat not fitting. When I first walk on the plane I ask the attendent standing at the door for an extension. It is not overheard by anyone (I don't even care anymore) and she simply hands it to me when she's done with the "show and tell" thing they do. My sister bought one so she wouldn't have to ask.

Kari- you are so sweet and it must suck to feel the negatives from Mom. It has to be her.

Michelle- you had to have been chosen "Most Humorous" in your class. I too laugh at your postings. And the MC Hammer reference....too funny. And btw- Alice has left the building and the laundry is yours....lol.

BigGirlP- the dress is awesome and when you wear it- work it!!!!!

And to all of us- those who were skinny when young, those who knew Lane Bryant's chubby department well, or those in between.......these are the days that belong to us because we have made the commitment to take back our bodies.

Ruthie

OMG Michelle! You have me totally cracking up!!!

Thanks for the support and advice, girls. I talked to my mom tonight and told her that my sister didn't say anything when she saw me. All she would have had to say was something like, "Look at you!!" I mean, she has called a couple of times to see how I'm doing, but she hadn't seen me since my surgery. She and I have never been super close - I remember one time she told me I was bossy when we were younger. Aren't all big sisters at one time or another? My mom said that I get enough support from friends, co-workers, you guys here at LBT and other family members to make up for her not saying much. I'm fine - it's all good - I just bought 26/28 pants today!!

Dezadoo,

I'm from Michigan and have been to Cedar Point several times, just not in recent years. I'd love to go back and try out some of those rides and let my kids experience this awesome park. Six flags is fun, but Cedar Point....ROCKS!!!

Michelle, I too was laughing hysterically and my husband had to find out why! We both had a great laugh - thanks!

We went out to eat tonight and it was so nice! We went to Applebee's and I ordered HALF of a steak cobb salad w/o the blue cheese (it's nice that they let you order a half). It's great because by the time I eat all the good stuff out of it, I am satisfied and don't feel badly about what I leave behind (mostly lettuce). It was wonderful!

Ruthie - you'll do great tomorrow!

Thank you all for sharing your lives! It is so great to have others in the same boat!

Have a wonderful 4 day week everyone!

Desiree

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
