Me too. Banded on the same day. I'm on puréed foods for 3 weeks but I'm still hungry. Protein is supposed to help. I feel like I could just chow down on a big ol plate of real food.< /p>

You are lucky you can have puréed foods. I was banded on 7/23 and am on clear liquids for 2 weeks! sugar free Jello and chicken broth helps I also do 3 oz of Protein every hour if I'm not full. Sipping crystal light all day!

That's a really tough stage to get thorugh. We've all been there and survived (somehow), even when you don't think you will. Yes, I remember thinking I really was going to starve to death! Every day your body will adapt a bit better, and you'll move on to more substantial food choices soon. Just remember that any cheating you do now could potentially do damage and slow your healing and set you back. Even sucking on sugar-free hard candies helped take the edge off for me. Find a trick that works for you, and it'll pass very soon.

To answer the question, I found that drinking a Protein Shake every three hours and half to a full bottle of Water in between is what helped me with the hunger. But for weeks, I have been trying to understand why others thought my diet after surgery was so weird. LOL. Now I get it. It seems based on most of the posts I've read, that many doctors have strict POST OP diet restrictions. I had a MONTH of PRE- Lapband diet restrictions and now a more lenient post up diet. I guess its different from doctor to doctor. I also had a moderate size hiatal hernia and an ulcer. So I wouldn't necessarily fit the normal circumstances.

I was banned on 7/15 and now I'm on 30 days of full liquids. It is difficult and I'm struggling. I keep Ensure on hand at all times, but cannot wait till 8/16 when I can start real food

I liked chicken broth, it felt like a meal to me. The swelling made me feel full most of the time and satisfied with chicken broth and I hated the Protein Shakes (just about all varieties)

Glad I had this diet before surgery. However I understand the feeling of hunger. I agree with the previous poster. Have something at the top of the hour.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
