Me, too -- congratulations. Right behind you! Going for mandatory information session on August 6th at which time the paperwork begins. Have checked with my insurance company and that part should go fine, so it's just a matter of getting the actual surgery date and going through whatever rigamoroll is required in advance of that. I am really looking forward to this big new change in my life. Even though we all know it will be a lot of hard work, won't it be great to have RESULTS from the hard work?

Yes!! Unfortunately my journey will be at least six months before any surgery cause thats what state insurance requires :( but i wont let it get me down, im so sick of being unhealthy & i luckily have my best friend going into this journey with me.

Hello all,

Just finished my testing and 6 month supervised diet....one more appt and then a surgery date....it is alot but doable....just keep plugging along....it all gets done...I thought I would be the last one banded here but now there's a whole new "class" coming in after me! Wishing you all the best on the beginning of your journey's.

I feel like I've been waiting FOREVER but it is getting closer....taking it one day at a time!

Your six months will fly by. Use this time to educate yourself about the band, eating better, and preparing for the changes you will be making.

My insurance and surgeon required six months of WEEKLY classes that covered everything from nutrition, to exercise, to the long term changes you have to make to be successful. If you missed a class you had to make it up and all had to be completed before you could even think of being put on the surgery schedule.

I wanted to jump into my new life, too, but am happy that i had the time to prepare for all of the changes. I also lost 40 lbs before i even started my Preop diet, and lost another 16 before my surgery date.

The time will fly by. You can do this.

I am excited for all of you. You wont regret the journey and all that you have done to get there will not be in vain. Good luck. Banded for seven days now. Ask me anything.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
