Any February 2013 Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

Yes - I would suggest a recliner or elevated. I was banded Wednesday and have slept in the recliner every night since I've been home. It requires less stomach muscles to get up from a recliner or being elevated. Plus I think it's easier to sleep on you back that way. I am a side & stomach sleeper all the way so this has helped my remain on my back

Yes anyone getting banded will have trouble sleeping. I got banded on the 7th. I also suggest recliner and Lots of pillows.

My surgery is February 12, thankful for this forum and someone else to share journey with. It is comforting to know that we all share similar fears, hopes, etc. I pray that all of us who are sharing this life changing surgery and adventure are successful and blessed beyond our expectations.

Feb 20 here

MellzBellz21: We are being banded on the same day, but I'm in New Zealand so I'm guessing I will be banded first

I am having a freak out day today and am really scared of having surgery! I think because it's down to single digits now before my big day it's becoming more and more real!

I know exactly what you mean! As the date creeps closer and closer my nervousness starts to eclipse my excitement of the newer, smaller me, and I'm thinking, "WOW this is happening.". Then I start thinking surgery, pain, etc and I freak out. I can't wait until this part is over with. Lol

Can anyone tell me how long till I can start sleeping normally? I'm a side sleeper and no matter how many pillows I use I just can't get comfortable on my back...

I'm 6 days post op and a side sleeper too. It was day 4 when I felt comfortable enough to sleep on my side again. I put a thin pillow under my under to keep it from leaning so much, it made a big difference.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
