In regards to taking something for comfort I would suggest a pillow for the ride home. Holding it helped ease the discomfort for any bumps that were hit.

I was banded on the 7th as well. Im in the hospital now with lots of gas pain that I can't pass. I could bearly move well and can't wipe my private well cause you have to bend. Supposely the will give me luquids today and see if i can hold them down. If so I go home but I think I will struggle more at home. Especially with my two daughters 2 & 8. hubby is home now taking care of them.

Hi everyone!! I am scheduled for Monday' date=' 2/11. Any suggestions on what I should take to the surgery center other than comfy clothes? What brought you comfort?[/quote']

Extra panties cause the ones they give you are small.

Ok, had my band done yesterday and thought I was doing pretty well till I tried going to bed... any suggestions on how to sleep in bed? I had to sleep on the couch because I couldn't lay flat or on my side in be. And I feel like I might have pulled something trying to get out of bed... :-(

Jill, bring stretchy clothes a size too big, an easy pullover T shirt or a zip up/button front. The key here is comfort - you will be very bloated with air. I bought a thin cotton stretchy bra too. Because of where the incisions are, sometimes bras irritate them.

I also brought slippers. THere was no way in heck I was leaning over to tie on sneakers :)

Many "just banded" say they had to sleep in a recliner or elevated.

Yes - I would suggest a recliner or elevated. I was banded Wednesday and have slept in the recliner every night since I've been home. It requires less stomach muscles to get up from a recliner or being elevated. Plus I think it's easier to sleep on you back that way. I am a side & stomach sleeper all the way so this has helped my remain on my back

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
