January 2013 Bandsters Unite

Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU!

For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES!

Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal.

Success in 2013 to each of you.

:-)

Ladybabie3 how is your pain and gas pain overall? I go in for sugery on the 29th and just want to know what its like

Well i only have gas pain in my stomach and it feels like i did 2000 stomach crunches. Walking helps some.

Oooo I know how you feel. Its my Second day post op and I woke to a sore sore tummy. And a raw throat. when does all this gas go away? the throat is from the breathing tube from surgery and ice cold sf Popsicles help a ton. All things considering this isn't too band. Hello new life.

1fitmama13, my surgery was Monday and my throat is better today, I finally passed gas in the middle of the night. Sorry that sounds bad but reality is that is what you want. Today the gas doesn't seem as bad, but now each incision site is letting me know it is there. So it is one day at a time.

Thx. ;-)

I agree with tigerlille, popcicles are your friend

LOL yes they are. They feel so good on your throat!!!!

YES THE POPCICLES WERE GREAT BUT THE WARM CHICKEN BROTH FOR ME WAS LIKE MAGIC I WOULD NOT EVEN NOTICE IT FOR A LONG TIME THAT'S WHAT WORKED BEST FOR ME

Feeling really sick today. 2 days post op and I got to get my first shower today since surgery. I feel like I want to throw up and I am super sleepy also. What should I do?

My throat still hurts. My back and neck are the worst. I don't know if that's normal but I wanted you cry. I also feel nauseous and want you go back to bed. Passed gas yesterday and today did it feel good. Sorry if I grossed anyone out. It hurt but felt good at the same time.

Gmasdolly- my throat and neck both hurt pretty bad yesterday as well. All I want to do is sleep too, but can't get comfortable. I'm passing gas now, a lot and your right it does feel so good. All that you are feeling is normal from what I can tell. I'm not sick, but hurt! Hang in there!

I can't believe how this month has flown!!!! It's been awesome to see all the new bandies, and I'm still patiently waiting for mine on the 29th. So thankful for the friends I've already made through this forum. No one understands our struggles the way others who struggle with their weight. Thank you to all of you for your openness, your compassion, and your time to share. Blessings to you all!

Finished my upper gi EKG and blood work for pre op testing! They let me watch the upper gi on a screen that was pretty cool! Congrats to all those banded!! Monday is my big day hope everyone has a speedy recovery!!!

So I am 6 days post-op and I am so proud of myself. I just walked up and down my sloped driveway for 20 minutes in this frigid weather. I bundled up and off I went with the dogs following :P (all four of them).

It's been a looonngg time since I have felt motivated and energetic enough to do anything in the middle of the day other than take a nap on my day off.

I can not believe how great I feel being 6 days out. I was so nervous I would be down for awhile. Very pleased with my results.

:D

Good for you!!! I believe they call it a NSV (non surgical victory?) i have a coworker who said she had so much energy too! And I'm glad to hear at day six ur feeling better I get banded on Monday and I'm worried about the healing time! Congrats again!
