  1. You're too funny! Ok...the challenge is ON! Isn't 150 for you too small? Weaver took over for kirshenbaum at lapbandrockies. He's young and a super sweet guy. Hey one question for you... Monday I can start eating real food and I have a lunch meeting at a restaurant. I'm freaking out. I just checked their menu and they have tomatoe bisque...good..safe. But they also have a tuna tartar appetizer. Is that too harsh first day back on food?

  3. I always love your answers 2muchfun! You're like professor lapband! Is that one of the keys to your success? My pee is not dark...actually it's always light yellow. Not too thirsty throughout the day. Doc said after surgery I was to try for 64 oz a day. I'm 12 days post-op and get maybe 40-50oz/day but still on mushies so maybe that'll change when I get on solids... Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Super helpful!

  7. Oooooo it kind of looks like mine did. it turned out I was allergic to the steri-strips they use to close the incisions. They are supposed to slowly dissolve off but with each shower I was dissolving the glue I was so allergic to all over the rest of my abdomen. My torso was a red rash mess by day 6. Bennedryl and cortisone cream helped but it wasn't until my doc took off the steri strips did the rash stop. Call your doc in the morning. Good luck

  9. I am struggling getting in all my water throughout the day. I like water so that's not it. I just forget to drink except during workouts. If anyone has tips and tricks on how you get your daily water in I would appreciate it.

  18. Oh thank you so much for these great ideas! Lapbandtalk.com is like having a group of wonderful amazing sisters!
  19. I'm 9 days post-op and have my first social event tonight. I am petrified. Would decline but its a celebration for a friend and not about me. My doc said I could start on mushies today but I'm staying with full liquid diet in fear of diarrhea tonight. The problem is that NONE of my friends know. None. I already set the stage and said the we could only stay for an hour but the only thing I can drink is Water there...unless I ask for juice box...which would be very weird. Any advice would be appreciated.
  20. 9th day post op and I hear ya Jennie612 - I thought my first week would be easier than it was. I feel the best yet this morning. Almost back to normal...the new normal!
  21. Congratulations girl!!!! That's awesome. I start on soft foods today too! I made cream of wheat for bfast but could only eat 3 tablespoons but you bet I chewed every bite and loved that feeling of something other than liquid in my mouth! What are you planning to eat today?
  22. Diane1107 I had such a hard time swallowing the thick protein shake on day 5 I went back to just Popsicles and ice chips. I finally drank 1 protein shake today (8 days post op) and at that it took me 45minutes of see sips. The way I see it, some people heal slower so the stomach is still swollen and cannot handle shakes yet in day 3.

  24. Help! I'm 8 days post op and I ever since my surgery I've had a very light rash all over my mid section. I thought it was just a mild reaction to the anti bacterial wash they used on me for surgery and it would go away. WRONG. I woke at 3:35am with an intense itching all over my belly and now the little bumps have turned into red welts from itching them. They are not on the incision sites but all around them. I used calamine lotion and bennedryl and will try to go back to sleep.... Anyone else have this issue?
  25. Hiccups were a way for my body to let me know to stop drinking/eating (full) They call it a soft stop. What stage r u?
  26. I'm 7 days post op and still on liquids. My doc said next week I can start mushies or soft foods. I've lost 10 pounds and am so afraid it's all going to come back on when I enter the real food (mushed as it may be) stage because i cant exercise yet. I have "my fitnesspal" app on my iPad that helps me so much with cal, fat, carbs, calories burned, etc and I'm going to try to keep it around 800-1,000 cal/day. Is that too much? I'd love to hear other people's stories when they transisitioned from liquids to mushies...thanks
  27. Day 7 post op and have just ad my best day yet. Started bad with pain in my port and breathing issues. Spoke to my doc and found out I should have been icing my belly when I was heating...oh no! Turns out I was delaying my recovery...and not doing my swollen tummy any good. I went back to ice chips and icing mid section on and off all day. I'm so much better and port pain in almost gone! Heat was ok for my neck and shoulders but my doc say ice, ice, ice for belly.
