January 2013 Bandsters Unite

Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU!

For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES!

Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal.

Success in 2013 to each of you.

:-)

Tomorrow is my big day, im a bit nervous.. But my question is for those of you from earlier in the month , when could you drive again?

I'm banded!!! Just got home and feel like poopoo' date=' but all went well. Headed to bed[/quote']

Good luck hunni. I hope you feel better. Get rest and try to drink water. I only got 8 oz down yesterday but today I have done 10 so far.

Thank you. I am getting a little more liquid down. The gas is a little bothersome, but all is good!

After you are off the narcotics. Usually a week or so.

Those of you already banded how are the first weeks?

Hey dolphintattoo,

I'm one week out today! So far I have done really well! I feel great! I was able to stop my pain meds after two days and I drove last night for the first time. I'm losing about a pound a day right now-- can't seem to stay off the scale!:) I'm trying to cut back on the weighing 'cause I know that's gonna slow down soon. I'm still on "liquids" but my doc classified that as anything that would go through a straw so I've been using the Magic Bullet to purée some thicker soups and chilis these last couple of days. I'm not getting in as much water as I should just yet but I'm working on that. I'm doing some lite housework and went to the grocery last night--- I do still wear out easily and luckily don't go back to work until next Monday the 28th. Overall, I feel great and this has absolutely been one if the BEST things vie ever done for myself! Just wished I had done it sooner! Hang in there-- it gets better and I'm positive it's gonna be worth it!

I've had my on Friday really only had protien shakes and popcicled, and chicken broth warm which felt so good its what made my throat and tummy feel best, until yesterday evening I had sugar free jello topped with a little sugar free French vanilla whipped topping from a can, it was amazing I didn't really feel that gassy tummy feeling and it soothed my stomach as well, still having gasx to help when needed, a small box has made me about 4 servings and has helped tremendously, I'm not very sore at all today but I'm still taking it easy

Just got the call!!! My surgery is scheduled for Thursday at 9AM! :) It it just now starting to hit me that I'm actually doing this! I can't wait! Thank you to all of you for your support. I can't wait to tell y'all how it feels to be on the other side. :)

Texasgal77- good luck! It will the beat thing. I was just banded yesterday and I am happy I did. Sore and fast, but I know good things to come. Let us know how you do.

I'm two weeks out tomorrow, and I feel great. Went back to the gym this morning, though I didn't push myself too hard. Still sore in my port area, but soooo much better than last week.

I went in for my post-op check in, and my surgeon gave me a fill today!! I was shocked, though I knew he was fairly aggressive in getting patients to the green zone. So I'm back on liquid, and I haven't even gotten all the way through the mushies. :( still I trust him and I'll just get there faster I guess. Down 20 pounds since started liquid preop so can't complain too much.

Good luck everyone!

Wow...that's fast. Mine wouldn't consider it and I'm not ready for one yet anyway. I went for my first post op appointment today and my first possible fill will be in five weeks.

My big day is almost here! Good luck to those getting banded tomorrow and the rest of the week!
