Congrats and good luck!! That's my date also. Lets keep in touch. Second day pre op besides the headaches I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday. I was starving and had a massive headache. I am allowed to 3 oz of fish or chicken which takes the heat off a little

I was banded Dec 5th. Yay to all of us for starting diets during holiday season!

I can't believe that I'm cooking Christmas dinner eleven days after surgery. The good news is that I have lost eight pounds on the pre-op diet and I will have to buy new jeans for our big party on the 22nd. Its worth it.

Well girls, yesterday I went to Tampa to get my pre-ops done I am being banded on 12/14 at 10:30! Labs, EKG, and chest x-ray done. Still on Protein Shakes, Water, crystal light, Jello, and broth! Only 6 days to go! On Dec 14, my new life begins!

Lack of caffeine and lack of sugar.

Yep, if you were used to having caffeine, that'll do it! I can drink tea on my pre-op diet. I weaned myself down to minimal sugar when I started my pre-op diet and within 2 days, even the tiny amount I was using was too sweet. By day 3 I was sugar-free. :) (and that means no artificial sweetener, either. That stuff gives me a worse headache than going caffeine free would!)

You've also greatly reduced the amount of calories you're getting throughout the day. That could cause headaches as well. Your body will adjust quickly though. By day 4 I really had no "side effects" at all. I did wake up incredibly hungry on Day 10 for some reason, but as soon as I drank a Protein Shake I was alright.

Do any of you have blogs where you're sharing your journey? I'd love to read them! :)

I am dec 3... Plication though' date=' but the forum is pretty empty lol. So I joined this one for the wl journey support! Nice to meet you all:)[/quote']

What State do you live in? I thought they stopped doing plication surgery in the USA? I had done months of research so that I could have the band and plication done at same time. At the very af waing to get it done they dropped it,

I am Dec.6th but my doctor just left a message he needs to reschedule. I'm sure it will still be in December. I think they didn't realize I was an overnighter and spaces us out.

And I'm getting plication with my lap band.

I liked Dec. 6 date. Early in the month' date=' time to adjust and be on a new eating phase for holidays.

I want to get a cheeseburger and a beer for the last time. I am also alternating between starting good habits and saying good bye to carbonated drinks and things that will pretty much be off limits.

I'm more nervous as December gets closer and more excited both at the same time.[/quote']

Good luck on getting BOTH. I think you will have a greater chance of success. Let us know.

I'm in NY and having plication with my lapband.

Most of the day I am ok with the pre op diet and so proud of myself for sticking to it. However, everyday there are moments when I feel starving. My nutritionist said to eat (really drink) every 2.5 to 3 hours and it's easier. 6 mini meals a day. 2 of them being Protein shakes. 2 can be Soup (soup can have veggies and it doesn't need to be pureed until post surgery). I can also have sugar fee ices and ft free/sugar free pudding. I don't like Jello or I could have that.

I would love a few oz of lean chicken or fish like others are allowed. lol...someone always has it worse and someone always has it better.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
