When I get up or down, or bend, it feels like I'm being stabbed. I may just not handle it like others. And no, i've never had a baby, so nothing to compare...

Incision pain' date=' i'm bruised around two of them :([/quote']

I really wouldn't worry...the surgery did a lot of poking around inside you plus you probably still have a bit of gas inside...I really bruise easily and was covered all over abdomen afterwards with bruises and not just around incisions. They stayed tender for over a month and turned a lovely purple, yellow, green! Relax and HEAL. If you are still concerned tomorrow or few days call your doctor. By the way I'm five months post op and my port area is still tender and uncomfortable if panty elastic is over it. I wish mine had been placed a bit higher, but so far the band is a great tool.

Since December is almost over, I'm just wondering how many of us are left to get banded this month? Mine is Friday!

My doc said Miralax is okay to use because it's gentle and doesn't have harsh side effects...so that's what I use and I'm doing good...best wishes!

I was recommended MIRALAX also. Much better than METAMUCIL Clear, as it has no taste. I put it in my Decaf every morning. Those who are about to be banded, get MIRALAX. You can put it in your liquids and does what it is supposed to with no cramps and "keeps things movin' " if you know what I mean *wink*

We all understand here. Go ahead and baby yourself, you need to let your body heal, as you have just had a truly life-changing experience.

Hello everyone! I just found this app today & am so glad that I did. My sugery date is Dec 27th which is 2 days from now. So 2m is my day of all Clear Liquids. I've been really excited for months' date=' but I find myself a lil nervous- "crunch time"; which I suppose is normal. LoL. I'm so happy to now be connected with people who are on the "Bandwagon" & understand. :)[/quote']

Im being banded tomorrow too. Not nervous yet my only worry is not being too much of a burdon on my family being a single parent of two girls and the youngest is one and very clingy god knows how it will be when i get back :-\

I was banded on 12/20' date=' and am still in a lot of pain. Not sure if I over did and am paying the price, or this is how it goes. Maybe I just don't have a high threshold for pain...[/quote']

I too am having the same stabbing incision pain and bruising where the port is. Its bc the attach it to the wall of your stomach. Ive noticed if I keep my core still not bending or leaning or reaching way over my head it helps to not irritate the area. Use your legs to squat when possible

I was banded on the 3rd of December, And I'm down 24 pounds!!! Still in some pain if I move just right, or if I forget and roll over on my side at night! But its going good!!

...

I was banded the 7th. I was losing a pound a day it seemed and now as I introduce solids no weightloss. I'm down almost 18 lbs total. Should I be worried? I've always been good at losig 5-10 lbs then that's all! Gonna have my 1st fill in Jan. Just feeling discouraged..its been 5 days and no weight change.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
