Hey all - thanks for posting your experiences. It's amazing to be able to understand exactly what I'm getting into through your posts.

Earlier today I got my 9 AM appointment time for the 31st and am excited but getting a little nervous... probably shouldn't have watched a band surgery video online :)

Like many of the other Houston bandsters' date=' had a two week 2 Protein shakes/1 meal per day preop diet through the holidays. I didn't tell anyone, so my mom - whom I only half-jokingly refer to as "the pusher" - has been trying to ply me with all my favorite Christmas candies. Thankfully, still down 19.6 lbs so far with three more days to go.

It's been an interesting journey to get this far, but looking forward to starting the new year by taking this much needed step towards long-term weight control.

Best wishes for all of you - I'm looking forward to seeing photos of how well we are all progressing in 2013![/quote']

Good Luck Chad.

I was banded on the 14.

Who is your doctor in Houston? I went to true results and my surgeon was Dr Hollis

Hi, all! Was banded Wednesday, am still very sore and tender. The weather here is crap, so I haven't been taking my walks. I think its time to head to the local mall....for my health, you know!

My biggest problem is that I'm really not able to get much down. broth goes down, but that's not many calories. Yogert and pudding is about all rest if it.

What are you guys eating to get since calories in? I can have 800, but yesterday I didn't even break 200.

Hi Nancy - I'm at True Results too, but Dr. Reilly. I read all your posts knowing we were in the same clinic. Hope you are doing well and seeing the results you hoped for!

Does anyone have a hard time "eating" in the am? I have a hard time getting my shakes down. From nausea to pain, it seems like it's better to wait a couple hours.

Hi all my bandster buddies! I was banded on 12/21 and I'm doing ok. Been having a lot of diarhea (sorry tmi' date=' I know). Immodium is ok to take and has really helped. Also, water/gatorade mix keeps me hydrated. I wanted to just give up because I was so miserable, but I know this is going to pass.

Congrats to those who are getting banded in the next few days.[/quote']

Thank you PBTango for posting this. I have been feeling the same way and I was banded the same day. I was thinking please let this work out and felt I was alone in my thoughts until you and others encouraged me by letting me know I was not alone and it will pass.

Hi everyone!... Surgery went great...i am only a little sore...The worst part of all of this is the being checked on every 69 minutes...but if that is the worst it gets I am happy!....Hope you all are doing great and thanks for all the support and sharing your experiances. It made me more prepared for this choice and procedure!

Congrats!! Get some rest and take care!

I was banded on the 19 so about 10 days ago. Up until now it was hard to get all my Protein Shakes in. But today, I feel like I am starving. I had 3 shakes (my doctor wants 4 a day but I wasn't able to do that yet), a pudding, a Soup and I am so hungry and only have one meal (shake) left. It's 4:15. It's weird bc until today I was not interested in eating/drinking. I'm going to drink Water until my dinner shake. I hope this is an off day and not what it will be like while I wait for mushies on Jan. 5. That seems so far away!

I was banded yesterday. Started small sips of Water last night, and had some dilaudid around 10pm for pain. This morning, my blood pressure and blood sugars are much better, and I have taken ten walks around my floor. Pain has been about a 2-3 on the pain scale, with some lortab at 12:30 and Percocet at 4pm. Now I'm just waiting for discharge papers and my prescription for Percocet and then will be going home. Pretty excited to start my new life!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
