  1. I just finished the c25k program and started on the bridge to 10k. Everyone is right, good shoes make a lot of difference. The brands that work for me, may not be the best brand for you. I actually went to Sun and Ski sports, they can do the running assessment there too. The thing that sold me on then, and idk if others do this as week, but if I'm unhappy with my shoes in the next 365 days and can take them back. This is a huge piece of mind, as good running shoes are NOT cheap. Good luck to you. I haven't met that love to run yet, I actually still kind of hate it. But I do love the sense of accomplishment that I've gotten from being able to run a 5k. My goal is the disney half marathon next year!

  9. I guess I should add that I'm not trying to deviate from what is recommended, I'm just curious to see how this compares to what others are told.

  11. The meeting is a go! We will be meeting on Thursday, January 31 (last Thursday of the month) at 6:30pm. At Mochalux Coffee & Tea Co. 1101 E. Bardin Rd, suite 101, Arlington, TX 76018. It is off Interstate 20 and S. Collins in a strip behind Chicken Express. They charge a fee of $25/hour to let us meet and to reserve seats, but that fee is waived if we purchase $30 worth of drinks/products. Hopefully you won't mind chipping in towards that amount in case we don't purchase enough. I'm thinking this first meeting will be more of a meet and greet and we can discuss what kinds of things we are hoping to accomplish in our meetings. Also, it shouldn't last longer than an hour. Hope to see you there!!!
  12. I know what my dr recommends. I'm just curious as to what YOUR dr recommends as far as how long to wait after surgery before exercising.

  22. Sorry, I didn't see those questions in your initial post, I edited my post above. Lol. But I'm not quite 1 month out, tomorrow is one month! I'm down 27 so far. That's since surgery, my dr didn't do a pre op diet. It hasn't been as bad as I thought. I haven't had the bandster hell that everyone talks about, so the eating hasn't been bad. I was pretty uncomfortable for a few days, but eventually that passed. Right now, I feel pretty normal, a little sore at my port site. But other than that, I'm just ready to get all this weight off.
  23. Thanks! I'm just taking it day by day. That weight loss definitely helped to keep me motivated.

  25. I'd lost 15lbs during my first week. I will be 1 month post op on the 28th, so far I'm down 27lbs.
  26. I'm so sorry, I remember you posting a few days ago and thinking we started at Abt the same weight, and I make cakes as well, so I've been wanting to see how you've done balancing the two. I can't even imagine the feelings you're having right now. I'm glad that no one was hurt, and hoping that you will be able to rebuild even better!
