How long before exercise?

I know what my dr recommends. I'm just curious as to what YOUR dr recommends as far as how long to wait after surgery before exercising.

I guess I should add that I'm not trying to deviate from what is recommended, I'm just curious to see how this compares to what others are told.

Hey just make sure your doing what your doc told you. I wasn't able to work out until 6wks post op. now I exercise 3x a week with a personal trainer, the work out is called TRX, it's like cross training. Very hard but it really works!

My doctor had initially said 4 weeks, but then he said if im healing well and the band seems to have settled I should be able to start after my first fill (which would be a few days before the one month mark).

My doctor encouraged me to walk as soon as I could, 30 mins a day which I started doing by week two then gradually built it up to an hour a day by the fourth week, that's all I do for now but I need to do more now seven months out so will be starting water aerobic next week, three times a week, the gym kills my back but I find walking and water aerobics I do very well with.

Very soon for walking, a month for weights.

I lifted for the first time tonight and it was a real surprise - I'm weak as a kitten! I don't know if it's due to weight loss (I'm only down 25 or so) or lack of carbs.

Mine waa start walking 1/2 hour per day asap no lifting more than 10 lbs until 6 weeks
