Best Breakfast Idea - What Works For You?

Recommended Posts

Whats tripping me up in my Quest to have DAILY on track meals is my rush out the door each morning. I need ideas for a grab and go meal that I can have. Im so bad that I end up going through a drive thru for a quick fix, which irritates my BF and makes me shamefully throw the rest of my day away.

I'd like to believe that I would wake up early, work out, and make a good high Protein Breakfast but so far that hasnt happened. What works for you?

P.s, while I love the Protein shakes and can do them every once in a while, I would like to CHEW my breakfast a couple of times a week! :D

i keep a couple of small baggies filled with almonds (about 23 almonds is a serving ) and a piece or 2 of O'bertos Turkey Jerky ( costco ) and 1/2 a chocolate Protein bar. Once every 2 weeks or so i make some hardboiled eggs. Grab the baggie as you run out the door and you'll have a quick , healthy breakfast. If you have time eat the egg or have some yogurt or 1/2 a banana. Good luck !

How about a low carb / low calorie wrap with smoked salmon and 0 fat cream cheese. Nice Protein hit and will fill u up for a while as its solid and not Liquid Protein ..

I make an egg cassarole of egg/egg whites, turkey bacon, low fat cheese and pour into a muffin tin, bake it and then I freeze them. Grab, zap in micro and go.

I put my meat and veggies in a muffin pan. I add eggs that have been mixed with half and half and some spices and pop the pan in the oven at 350 until the "quiches" are done and set.. I can ten freeze them and reheat my breakfast quiches each morning!!!

I eat Greek Yogurt every morning. I'll also have some fruit or a few pieces of turkey if I'm really hungry. I still struggle getting a veggie in with breakfast. I usually start off my day with a cup of tea then my liquid vitamins mixed with Bolthouse juice, so waiting 20 minutes usually puts me just arriving at work. I have a desk job and can eat at my desk. I don't really have a good "on-the-fly" meal solution, but the Greek Yogurt really helps keep me full.

I have a Protein Shake because my band is tight in the mornings. It loosens as the day goes on.

I heard about adding hershey's cocoa powder and stevia to plain greek yogurt then freezing it. Has anybody tried anything like this?

I just started eating plain Greek yoghurt with sliced banana, a little PB2 powder, and some drizzled honey. It is DELICOUS :) its a great filler and Protein source. You can add granola or blueberries. Either way it's really good.

I hear you on that. I started prepping/making my breakfasts before I go to bed, so then when I wake up, all I have to do is microwave it or mix it. oatmeal is quick and easy, as well as yogurt with some almonds or fruit, or even any egg dishes can be cooked.the night before and left in tupperware to re heat the next day. Hope this helps!

I bought a plastic two part dish that you put your egg in mix with a fork, a sprinkle of cheese on top and about 40 sec. in the microwave gives you a nice soft scrambled egg. Just rinse and wipe the cup out and you are done with breakfast and cleanup. I got it from Wall Mart for about 5 dollars, use it all the time.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
