Regarding Soreness...

Ive finally been banded!

Im 2 days out now and have a ton of pain at my port incision, just wondering how long it took for you to feel like yourselves again? I feel bloated and gross, cant take deep breaths without pain and had the hardest time sleeping last night. I know it takes time but would appreciate your input. Also, there is some blood thats stained my port dressing that wasn't there at all the day after surgery. This isnt any thing to be worried about, right?

Thanks!

I know its expected, just wondering how long it took for you guys to feel yourselves again! Days, weeks?

I had one incision, so I think it was a bit extra sore. I still had a little bit of sorness two weeks out, but I was semi-mobile in 3 days :)

It took me abt 5-6 weeks to feel totally 100% im 7 weeks out 37 pounds down..-dances- but i'm feeling so great!!!

I was banded Tues. luckily no gas problems or shoulder pain but just couldnt sleep even with the viacadin first night, last night was first night I got more .. I can get up and move around the house with no problems. plan on going back to work Monday.

I was 100% at about 7days...I also had hernia repair.

I took pain meds for a total of about 5 days I think! Wasnt to bad at all

I had Hernia Repair, Lymphnodes removed from the groin "OUCH !". Scar Tissue Removal, and then he put in the Band.

Took about 2 weeks of pain meds...

I had surgery on Friday and boy, am I sore! Especially where the port is located! I totally understand how uncomfortable that pain can be! I also had a hernia repair at the same time. Last night I woke up every hour on the hour. I had not been taking my pain meds consistently so I'm sure that was part of the problem. Took a dose of pain meds around 5am and finally feel better. I plan on staying on schedule with pain meds today. I expect to feel lots better by tomorrow....hope so anyway.

I just had mine on Thursday and I'm tender on my incisions but what is really annoying is my shoulder. If I lie down I'm fine but sitting up seems to piss my shoulder off. I'm sure it wil get better in time.

They gave you those Meds. for a reason, You should take them as instructed.

Even if you feel a little o.k.,,, don' stop taking them rite away, because you might get hit like a brick with pain.

So nice and steady. wink.png

Miss Meow, even tho it hurts to be upright, that is probably gas making your shoulder hurt. Walk, walk, and walk some more. It helps.

Your incisions will quit hurting after 5-7 days, and then they'll start to itch. I had one bleed the second day out, too - it wasn't anything except stretching it in my sleep. My port site is still a little tender after 30 days, but it doesn't HURT.

As laddie said, walk and walk and get some Gas-X strips - they really do help a lot. And don't forget to take some with you when you go somewhere - I needed them badly and had to stop and buy them (even though I had 2 boxes at home).
