For me it’s a tight little black dress...where my wait is smaller than the curves of my hips LOL. Oh and maybe some naughty Victoria Secret.

Anything that doesn't involve a cover-up, like a big sweater or sweat jacket to "cover up" my back fat and belly lol.. To be comfortable in just a tank top, a cute top or even just a t-shirt without covering up would be awesome. Oh, and sexy high heels! I'd love to be able to wear those again without feeling like I was going to keel over and die from the pain! I miss feeling sexy!

Love this post BTW!

Anything that doesnt come from the "womens" or "plus size" section. I want to wear clothes that fit me well. I want to buy things from the little trendy stores and not from Lane Bryant!

Life is so ironic. I got to a BMI of 21 and could wear most of what I wanted, but still had a slight muffin top that frustrated me. I'm pretty obsessive about things like that - I wont wear anything that shows VPL or a braline or any fat showing at all.

Well, thanks to chemo and radiation, I finally get down to a BMI of 19 only now I have a temporary stoma so I have a bag on my stomach and the surgeon fashioned a loop of my intestine over the stoma (but under the skin) so i have this bulge there,. So skin tight stretchy dresses - yeah, I'm at the weight and in the kind of shape that I could wear them and look fantastic - except now I have to dress loose around the middle, lol!

So lately, I'm wearing high heels and short skirts - something I rarely do because I'm already 5ft 10 - to show off my legs, which are looking pretty hot if I do say so myself.

on a more serious note, its sooooooo good to just shop in regular stores and I've found being thin even makes stores like Kmart and Target more attractive, you can find great stuff that looks good on you when you're not all bulges and rolls. Its the best reward of weight loss to my way of thinking! But all of us have figure flaws and I never found I could wear absolutely anything I wanted. I dont do maxi dresses for example - ick, I hate them and they look awful on me. All skinny bony shoulders and arms, and then this enormous swathe of fabric. I need my legs to show to balance it out.

Oh yes, this is one of the main reasons why I got the Lap-Band. I CANNOT stand the clothes at Lane Bryant. I also want to be able to wear sexy lingerie and look sexy in it too.

I have my eye on this vera wang gown for my wedding in 2012: http://brideguide.ehclients.com/images/uploads/Esther.jpg

I would love to wear it and look beautiful in it (including having some semblance of a waist line).

I love this post!

I am a clothes addict - I love all fashion - and it stinks being only in the plus sizes. 1. Because not a lot of designers have plus sizes. 2. If they do, they don't really change the design to fit a plus size person. I can't wait to shop in regular stores or in the non-plus departments. Hope I never see those sales clerks in Woman's again :).

All that said - I want to get to the stage where I look good in a pair of jeans! May sound silly - but I am going to go out and buy the most kick @ss pair of expensive jeans - when I am 145lbs or below!

In the meantime - I can't wait to wear shirts that don't have to come to my knees to hide my belly!!

I almost forgot one of my biggest wishes - I have always wanted knee high boots. I have been embarrassed multiple times in stores trying them on and then don't fit above my calve or I can't zipper them. When I lose - that will be one of my first additions to the wardrobe (after the summer :) )

I am dying to wear a bikini like you wouldn't believe. After a year of tons of Lipo and now 3 tummy tucks, that is all I want to wear. I am still healing but thats all I can think about.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
