  2. I have a swallow this week. He doesn't think it's a slip since I have had no problems before or since. I'm following the rules and no issues. But we will see how the swallow goes.
  3. I was eating anything I wanted. And I mean anything. I can eat anything as long as I chew well. By too tight I mean since my last fill I've gained a good amount back. Could I have gained too much, making my band tighter then it should be?
  4. I will start by saying I am going to the Dr as soon as I can. Military insurance is different as I have to jump through hoops. Ok..... Was banded 10/10. Had fantastic results. Had a baby 2012. Here we are 2014 and I am 25 pounds heavier then my last fill (which was in 12/11). I'm not having reoccurring heartburn, but last week is was horrible for about 24 hours. Decided I probably slipped. Had an ok time the next day but decided I really need to get my horrid habits under control. Next day had slight reflux like pressure but I totally went away next day. I've been fine for days now but still waiting on being able to get definitive answers from my dr. I've gone back to 3 meals and following my rules. Question. Could it just be too tight as I have gained 25lbs and have just hit that area it doesn't like? Or slip? I do PB a few times a week on "naughty" foods. Currently I feel fine since I've gotten back on track. Thanks to anyone who gets through that lengthy mess.

  7. The joy of BC. I quit taking BC Thanksgiving Day 2011 because I was not losing anything.I hadnt lost 1 lb for months I felt bloated ALL the time and my breasts were constantly sore ans swollen, Be extremely careful. I got pregnant the very next week after stopping!!
  8. Dont over buy yet. I found there were things I couldnt stand the taste of post band. I couldnt do broth after. I did SF all fruit popcicles and apple sauce. Find a good protein. I like the ones from dietdirect.com. Along with the protein fruit ones like the raspberry lemon-aid. Right after surgery have gas-x strips or pills. The gas was by far the worse pain associated with the band. Its a lot of trial by error. I would grab a few thing but not too much. You should be out of the house and walking around a day or 2 after so use a trip to the store as exercise. Good luck!! Best decision I ever made!!
  9. Congrats!! Its amazing what breastfeeding will do for you!! Not to mention the wonderful benefits for your beautiful daughter!!
  10. I feel you. My son is 5 months and although I am about 20lbs below pre preg, I feel stuck in a rut. I am still nursing but the scale went up 2 lbs the last 2weeks. I cant seem to get back in the groove. We gotta do this!! Good luck!!!

  13. I just had an ultrasound that showed several large stones I am having my gallbladder removed in January. There is no treatment for stones other then removal. It is a side effect if you will with weight loss surgery and also in my case pregnancy. I wish it would have been removed when I had surgery.
  14. I had both at the same time. Didnt know I needed it until the Dr was in there. No more heartburn!! But I do need my gallbladder removed now.
  15. No problems here. On occasion Ill get stuck but I did that before I was pregnant especially when Im really hungry annd eat fast. Im 3 1/2 month postpartum.
  16. Up-date: My son was born healthy on Sept 1st!! I had a fantastic pregnancy and delivery. Today I am 11 weeks post baby and everything is great. I gained a total of 30lbs and have lost that plus an additional 18lbs.
  17. Port pain for me came and went the entire pregnancy. It wasnt horrible but there were days I was pretty uncomfortable. Remember there is a lot of stretching going on and that port is attached to muscle. Good luck.
  18. Congrats!! I did very well banded. I gained about 15lbs up to about 32 weeks. From 32 weeks to 40 weeks I gained a total of 30lbs but lost the 30 plus additional 18 as of today at 11 weeks post baby. I did very well pregnant and so far very well after. I think pregnancy agrees with me!!
  19. I was 13 months post-op when I got pregnant with my son. We tried for 17 years before I was banded and lost 70+ lbs before I got pregnant.

  22. I got the band at 34 and had my first baby at 36. I would have had a very hard time if I didnt lose the weight first. Gestational diabetes was not something I wanted to deal with on top of high bp and and a bunch of other issues I had pre band. I had absolutely no issues during my pregnancy and had a normal vaginal delivery. My son and I were both healthy and pre band I dont know if we would have been. I couldnt get pregnant for 17 years pre band. The 18 months I waited after surgery was worth it. I plan on trying again next year and will be 38 before the next one. I believe its better to be a healthy older mom instead of an unhealthy only a year younger mom. Good luck.
