August Rush in bandland!

In a much better frame of mind this afternoon. Went to the store, and made it out of there without any thing that could sabotage me.

Going to make quiche tonight for supper, and have a salad to go with it.

way to low carb it!

Going to try mashed cauliflower tonight with roast. Don't know if I'm going to be able to eat the roast.

Got my Zumba dvds today, and I did the basics plus a p90x intro video that somebody posted in the fitness area. That was a riot. I have zero rhythm. No way would I do this in a class situation until I can figure out the steps. My oldest daughter kept looking at me like I had lost my mind. She kept telling me to do it like the ladies on the dvd.

Well All,

yesterday I kinda pigged out. I wanted to finish this imitation crab up (not really low carb) and then last night I had a chicken thigh and leg. OMG it was like heaven.......I did take little bites and chewed, chewed, chewed. I was nice and full when I finished, and oh yeah I ate the skin too! (that is a low carb thing) Anyway, I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down 3 pounds from my original up 5. Go figgur' for the life of me I don't understand..Maybe too few calories before or who knows. Just glad to see the scale move in the right direction after 14 days!

Well it will be chicken again tonight yum!

Tomorrow is day one of induction, because I'm using up the last of this BBQ Sauce that is not really carb friendly.

But really for two days my carbs have been fairly low, so maybe that is the big scale secret:confused:

Everyone have a great day!

Hey August bandsters! Hang in there! the first 3 to 7 days are the toughest. For me it was only 3 days of pain, desire for different foods and scary uncertainty. I even asked many times "what have I done to myself?"

As the first week post-op was up, I was already happy and was totally confident.

You can do it! keep yourself occupied. and the time will go by faster until you are back to normal and start enjoying your weight loss.

I'm going to stop and get some new potatoes just in case that doesn't turn out. I'm not low carbing it. I just wanted something different.

I've never low carbed. Not something that I really want to do, but I have a question.

What is the maximum number of carbs that you are allowed per day on a low carb plan?

I know that when I had my 3rd kid, that I had gestational diabetes. I had to follow a diet plan that was

30 grams of carbs at Breakfast

30 grams of carbs at snack

60 grams of carbs at lunch

15 grams of carbs at snack

60 grams of carbs at dinner

15 grams of carbs at snack

That was the best I had ever felt following that plan, and I actually lost weight while pregnant. I have thought about following something like that now.

Yukon golds are better for you than white....just a tip.

I could go on to explain the low-carb (Atkins) methodology, but instead I'm going to recomend that you do a little research via Google.

There are really several different plans that work. And in essence to boil it all down cut the crap(bad or processed carbs) bread, flour, sugar, etc. and eat protien and veggies. Pretty simple. Depending on what ever plan you choose they all have there own methods.Research, and choose wisely. I do garauntee (spelling?)

You will feel better, and may even help the weight come off faster.

GOOGLE IT GIRL

I've googled it so much, that I think my eyes are going to pop out.

From what I've gathered, you start out at 20 or less. Then you up it from there. Going over no more than 50 grams, or in some cases 100. Do I have the gist of it at least for the Atkins diet?

I'm really not trying to low carb it, but I haven't cleared 100 carbs in a day since before pre-op diet. Today I think is going to be my exception.

I think I'm gonna keep my carb intake between 40-50g a day. That's what I was doing pre-op and had some good results... That is a good carb intake right, I mean if that's what the doctor ordered is should be ok.

Just one more note.......

I did eat at 9:30 this morning and.........I'm still full! WTF!

That never happens to me. Here I am at 6:30 and still full. OMG I can't believe it.. Mom even gave me the High-Five. Wow.

O.K. May be hungry in the morning,

All my love

What did you eat in the morning that kept you that full?

I just got some Protein Powder from Bariatriceating.com today but I have a coupon for the Isopure and I have seen some 0 carb powders so I'll check those out.

Every time I come on these sites I wind up buying something. Oh well, anything to be at a normal weight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
