So it's has been 2 months and 10 days since I was sleeved. Today I updated my weight loss ticker and it SAYS I AM HALF WAY TO MY GOAL!!!! WHAT? That's amazing! I feel like I'm not even trying that hard and here I am, just about 60 lbs down! I get married in just under one year and I am so ecstatic to realize that it could very well be a dream come true that I could be a skinny girl on my wedding day! Words cannot describe how wonderful I feel today. I feel like the biggest burden I have ever had to bear has been taken from me and I cannot put in to words how freeing that is!!! HAPPY GIRL! -Kim-

So, I started out at 277 three months ago before surgery and right before 2 week pre-op diet began. I stepped on the scale this morning and for the first time in YEARS (maybe even a decade) I saw a "2" after the first 2. Just barely but it was there (229.8 to be exact). I just had to shout it out - I was really really excited to see that little old 2. Hitting a new "decade" of numbers has been my short term goal and has kept me motivated. If I think of the 90 pounds I still want to lose it seems overwhelming. I'll stick to my mini-goals and I'd encourage all my fellow bandsters to do the same. NSVs are wonderful - but for me I only "trust" the hard cold numbers on …

HA (made ya look) 34week baby bump, it's kind of hard to see because I took this with iPhone camera, but there are a couple of protrusions from my belly and those little bumps would be her FEET ! ! ! This was taken about 10-14 days ago. . . She's dropped a tiny bit, and rounded out in front, I'm really basketball shaped from the front, and no one can tell from the back that I'm pregnant. 31 days until her arrival ! ! !

I belive my sleeve has saved my life. In late December, both my primary care physician and I noticed a lump in my left breast. Had a mammogram, was recalled for additonal photos and had both an ultrasound and biopsy that day, and result is I have breast cancer. Fortunately, it's treatable and I will have surgery to remove the lump probably at the end of the month, followed by radiation. I am working hard to get my BMI below the obese stage, as obesity compromises survival rates in women with estorgen-postivive, HER2 negative cancers, which is what I have. So, here's another positive result from my sleeve and the weight loss!! I'm off to kick cancer's ass...pardon m…

Last Friday was my two month mark and today I weighed in only to find out that I am now half way to goal!!!!! This is the most incredible tool and I am so very thankful that I have been blessed with it. A year ago I thought I would certainly die from obesity related causes, seriously. Now I feel like that isn't even remotely a possibility.

Sure the scale can be an a$$ and people not get it, however the flip side is we have made a drastic choice that really works!!!!!! to take control of our life and personal issues with food and do something to wrench control from our stomach and finally become on the outside who we are on the inside! What an amazing journey. Each of us are experiancing the things we dreamed of for years, and finding it even more marvelous th…

I am new on here and will be sleeved october 20. I have decided that i am not going to tell many people about my surgery. Only my three closest friends, my mom and my boss. I dont want to be judged by people who have no idea what it is like to struggle. So i am curious what is the average weight loss like? I am 5'11"" and 265 pounds. My goal is to lose about 100 pounds.

I have been out of circulation for a while. Out traveling on business for 30 days or so. Did not weight myself while I was on the road. Now that I am back home. Yep, it's official, lost 100 pounds since January. It's very difficult to stick to meal plan while in cheap hotels and rental cars. To be honest, I did not. McDonald's fries and New York style pizzas (two of the things that made me overweight). Yet most of the time, it was Soups and salads. It's a personal accomplishment I would like to share and thank everyone; my wife, family, friends, and you. The readers of VST, thanks for the advice and support in aiding me in reaching this most important…

My high-Water mark weight was just a tad over 338 lbs (scary, now that I think about it). Today, I weighed in at 218 lbs. HUZZAH! In addition, my original goal was 225 -- sorted, thank you very much! -- and then revised down to 215... only 3 lbs away. BAM! I think I'm going to re-revise my goal weight down to 200 lbs now that I'm losing weight again (THANK you, regular gym workouts + cardio!)

OMG that was such a bad idea. Therea re 25 dozen cookies in the tin. We have had company this weekend and between all of us, mostly me I think, the box is now half empty and I definitely probably ate more than anyone else because I was cooking and they were there. Not to mention that I just ate from sun up to sun down on Saturday. Grazing all my sleeve would allow. How I wanted to eat a lot. I registered the 95th pound loss this morning. And, when I measured on 10/1, I had lost an even 12" from my waist. I am now fitting into 14 petite pants and 12 or 14 petite blouses (depending on the cut of the blouse). I can now wear any size L T-shirt or blouse with no worry about it fitting - before surgery, a mans XXL was tight! Attached are my before headshot, a headshot from today, and a picture of me and my elliptical. The third one was shot after my morning workout - I had taken off my shoes, and had my husband snap the picture. As you can see, I have saggy, loose skin - but I wanted to show the reality of how I am now. Life is good - I am really enjoying this…

I have lost more than 60% of my excess weight which puts me right on track with Gastric Bypass patients. I have about 35 more lbs to lose to be comfortably in the normal weight category for my height. I started in size 24 womens clothes and 2x or 3x tops and now I am in medium shirts and size 12 or 14 pants. I fit into a pair of jeans I kept from years back when I lost weight using Adipex...they are Seven brand and size 32. I just had my hair cut shorter today to go along with …

I am a few days past my 8 month surgiversary, and I am proud to say I have met the Dr.'s Goal!!! I don't understand though why the Dr. has a goal that keeps my BMI above 25. So, now I am on to my personal goal, which is to get below the 25 BMI mark, so I will be considered in a Normal weight category for the first time since high school. I think I have another 8 to 10 pounds to go to get to a 24.9 BMI. Has anyone else had the Dr. set a goal which would keep you still at an "Overweight BMI"?

Three days ago I officially hit 100 lbs. lost since I started this journey (I lost 12 lbs. pre-op). It still seems surreal to me that I have lost 100 lbs. Some days I can see it and others I still see remnants of the "fat girl". The one thing that is consistent though is that I feel amazing. I am never out of breath, I have boundless energy and simply enjoy life in a way that I never did before. I started running in July and training for a 1/2 marathon. I ran 6 miles with my running group this morning and led the pack. The old me couldn't …

Hello All I was just reading about members psych evals in another thread and someone mentioned that their therapist told them they will DEFINATELY lose friends after the weight loss. My therapist told me the same thing at my session. I really can't envision losing any of my friends because I lost weight! I have a couple friends who dropped some major poundage and I didn't get jealous or hate them, infact I couldn't have been happier for them. So how many of you successful sleevers have lost good friends after weight loss? Were they close friends, any jealous comments? Please share.

One of my goals (I have a line of them, LOL) was to weigh less than my husband. He was sleeved in April 2010 and lost 115 pounds pretty quickly. I was sleeved April 2011 and have lost 81 pounds as of today--5 months out from surgery (plus I had lost 31 pounds last summer). Today, for the first time in our acquaintance, I weigh less than he does--TRUE, it's only by 0.4 pound, but it's there!! I have a long way to go, and these "interim" goals are my way of keeping the process fun. Next: To meet my Halloween challenge (still have a lot to go for that one!) and then to get to -100 pounds, then on to onderland!! So very glad I have my sleeve!!!

Ok I had surgery on June 8th this year so I'm almost 4months post op. My starting weight was 260 and I'm 5"7. As of this morning I'm down to 208.4 that's 51.6 pounds lost (not that you couldn't do the math lol) anyway I'm very proud of the loss, I just feel like a slow loser. My question is how do I figure the % of my loss I've seen it figured so many different ways. My goal was 140 but I've upped it to 150 since that would still be a normal BMI for my height. Can someone offer up some advice here? I don't go back for a check up until the 23rd of Oct and I just want to be sure my numbers are good. Thanks

  26. I can't believe I've just passed my 1 year anniversary. It's incredible to be 60 pounds lighter. Each week, when I weigh in, it feels like the weight is coming off so slowly, but a year later, I see how quickly it all adds up. It hasn't all be smooth. I've twice had to have fills decreased because I couldn't even hold down liquids. And I've had to learn how to eat in new ways. After years of dieting, all of a sudden chicken breast is the enemy not a staple-- I just can't swallow it. And every once in a while, something I've eaten a hundred time in the last year, just doesn't go down. But despite everything, it's all been worth it. I know from the scale, and the mirror a…

If someone had asked me one year ago if I ever thought I would be at a "normal" weight again, I probably would've laughed. Yet here I am, at my doctor's and my goal weight and with a normal BMI. When I started this process, weighing 244 pounds, my realistic hopes were to just be under 200 pounds again. That came fairly quickly, and the rest was just bonus. It has been just under ten months and I am here to let everyone know that it is possible, you can do it too! I realize that I am very fortunate that I have not had any issues or complications and am very thankful for that. I was at my Lions' Club meeting last night and dinner was served. Main course was a stodgy oversize serving of lasagne with a slice of lettuce and tomato that was supposed to be a salad. I ate the salad and a lapbander sized portion of the lasagne. I had been for a 30km bike ride earlier in the day so knew I had a few calories in reserve. Then out came dessert. Usually it's fruit-based with whipped cream and I can just push the cream aside. No such luck tonight! It was a massive portion of baked egg white and sugar, aka pavlova, smothered in whipped cream and topped with chocolate. Well that just wasn't happening! Three different servers tried to place a dessert in front …

I found heaps of clothes that I have been saving for when I lost weight and now I can wear most of them. I've still got some clothes to shrink into but I can see myself wearing them really soon. it feels as though I have said goodbye to fat me and hello to getting slim me and I love it! Next achievement is to get under 100kg and start wearing that new gold watch I've bought to mark reaching that goal. Just 10kg to go.

I've lost so much weight but I fear wearing anything that will show them. My arms have finally gotten smaller where i can wear sleeveless shirts and I oh so love them. I love them as shirts, dresses they look so much more appealing. But i also hate the fact that those darn stretchmarks are so visible. Does anyone else have the same problem or am I alone? To this very day, I can assure any one of you that I would endure every single, solitary struggle and hurdle to live the life I have today. My highest recorded weight was 270lbs at 5'2". I have had some metldowns about it and really not happy about having to do this for 4 full weeks instead of the 2 weeks most people do. To add to the frustration of it, the scale says I have lost 6 lbs in those two weeks, & I hit that number a week ago, so basically I have lost no weight in the second week. But somehow, it feels like more than 6 lbs. because my size 20 jeans arevall so big on me. I mean, pull them down without undoing the button big. 6.5 Months out... what a difference! Wearing medium shirts and 30-34" pants depending on type and maker. Started @ 322, 270 day of surgery and now 182. Still losing in that step-wise fashion that a lot of people talk about. If I gain a lb or two, I usually know exactly why and can make a change to drop it back off in a day or two. Fish seems to be my go-to dense Protein when I need to jump start a quick loss. Ask me any questions you want, and I will do my best to answer. This is the most wonderful thing I could have ever done for myself..I can't even begin to say how great I feel..and I sure as heck never thought I'd ever have a self esteem again..but I DO!!! As of today I am down 70 pounds!!! On Friday I put on a pair of jeans from at least 8 years ago, that I loved and had saved for one of those days that I might be thinner again..and I thought no way are they gonna fit..OMG..THEY FIT!!!!!!!! and they were a size 17 in Juniors...WOW!! I yelled for my boyfriend to come look, cause I thought they were to tight, and he said they look great!!! WOOHOO!!!! I am loving my sleeve!!!!!!!!!!
