It's been a long time since I've posted anything here. I just had to share this with you all... I went to Target today to buy a new pair of workout pants. I left the store with a size EXTRA SMALL. I wore a freakin Size 28 W pants when I first started my weight loss journey. Just so you know... it IS POSSIBLE!!! Keep your eyes on the prize, because even at 15 Months out I'm still making the magic happen. Much Love, Xoxo

So, even though he's not my fiance anymore, my first big goal was tied very closely to my ex. I awnted to weigh less than him... AND I MADE IT! As of this week I officially weigh less than my ex and I also weigh less than I have since my freshman year of high school. I can't believe it! I love this sleeve! I love that it has given me the confidence to be me again! To be the same ol' goofy chick who used to love life! It's a happy day! Kim

The other day I was talking to my fiance about something. He was sitting in his office chair and I was standing next to him, showing him something. He decided to put his arms around my waist as we talked. But as he tried to rest his arm, it just slid down. And he looked up at me and said "I can't rest my arm on your booty anymore! It just keeps sliding down!" LMAO! I cracked up. But now i'm worried! Am I going to have a butt when this is all said and done??!! lol!

Well, I am 175 today, 5lbs from goal. Down 98 lbs from surgery, and 137 from my heaviest. 5lbs, wow. It's so hard to believe!!!! I need to post some current pics. I'll try to do that with the count down. So close. This past week I have had 4 people email me and ask how I did it. So as in each case I am sitting down and sharing in depth hoping it will help their journey. GodSpeed

Have I ever been a small in anything! Ever! Even when I was a kid I wasn't a small I needed workout pants for the winter to keep me wam and toasty on my walks, especially considering how cold I always get now. I went to target and got the cheapy ones for 7.49 a pair, Hanes, and I had to get a small! I tried on the mediums and they were too big. Kinda made my head spin a little bit but also made me smile big. Got 4 pairs hahaha I love seeing that little "s" and not the "XXL".

Ok peeps, trying to quit smoking again, using the e-cig this time. Going to ween myself down to zero nicotine. On Day 2 and so far so good. As long as I keep on trying. As much as I love smoking, yes, I love it , as un-PC as that is, it is hindering my whole get healthy process. So, gotta kick it to the curb. I will keep you posted on the progress. I have to take it one day at a time just like any addict, so I think I will post day by day, adding on to this post. Might help witht the frustrations etc.

I had just finished shopping at Walmart and was heading out the door. As I approached the older greeter, I noticed he was talking to some guy. I could hear what they were saying. The guy talking to the greeter started staring at me, and as I walked by, his head followed me. He was saying, "I should work here, so I can check out all of the good-looking women." It was very cheesy, and I was not interested in any way shape or form, but I thought it was hilarious, and I loved the attention. I am now turning heads of strangers! It has been a while since that happened.

So after spending the last few days enjoying having hit my first small goal, I have decided it is time to set up a new short term goal. MAKE IT TO ONEDERLAND!!! Oh. My. Gosh! I can't believe that I am already close enough to be even thinking about onederland. This is absolutely crazy and I am soooo excited and happy. Tonight I have a "blind date"... first time I am going out with a guy since breaking up with my fiance. I feel like it's kinda soon, but I am really ready for some fun and excitement! How I am going to make it to onederland: -Keep hitting the gym 5 nights a week -Keep trying to get in my Protein -Pilates once a week -Linedancing for fun I a…

It's been a few weeks, but Feel Good Friday is BAA-AAA-ACK!!! Staying positive and reflecting on all the joys of weight loss and for me the more important SIZE LOSS is really important. This is a tough journey, full of emotional ups and downs. But, today - is an UP DAY!! I'm down nearly 90" off my entire body!!! WHOOOTTT!! Please note, I only started keeping track of inches at around 300 Lbs... so I'm sure it's quite a bit more. BE PROUD & SAY IT LOUD!!

I must say I truly love my sleeve. I have lost 82 lbs thus far. I get mistaken for a student everyday I work at a high school. During Halloween week the kids were having a party and they gave me a flyer thinking I was a student. I'm 30 years old so it feels good to be mistaken as a student some days. I can shop anywhere without fear of not being able to fit in the clothes. it's crazy because I stay on ebay shopping trying to find clothes that no one has mostly from China. My mind has yet to catch up with my weight loss. I haven't been this small since middle school. And even then I was bigger than the other kids. Being 145 as a child is not cool but as an adult you long t…

I had my surgery on July 12. Today is November 5, so I am almost 4 months post-op. I started my journey at 288.8 and now I am at 246.6. Sadly, I have been at this weight (in the 240's) for the last 6 weeks. I'm hoping that breaks soon. I started out in size 28W pants and 3x/4x tops. Today, I am wearing size 22W pants and L/XL tops. Actually, I did try a size 20W pants on and while they do fit, they are very tight - so I am hopeful that they soon won't be so tight. My A1C (measure of blood sugar over a period of 2-3 months) was 8.8 in May. It is now a 6.6. I am completely off my diabetes medications. My cholesterol has become healthier with the HDL at 39 (was 34 5 mon…

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be where I am today!!!! I had my surgery 5/9/11 and in 6 short months have reached GOAL!! WOW, just WOW. I also had my labs done and they are stellar. I lost 55lbs pre-op and 60lbs since surgery, for a total of 115lbs. I am in just amazement of this terrific gift GOD has blessed me with. I have gone from a 22/24 to a 6 and had a BMI of 43 and now have a 25. Are you kidding me!!?? I wanted to be a 10 and have far surpassed my expectations. I am sooooo stoked. I have never been this small in my life and I feel on top of the world. My diabetes is gone, my hbp is gone and I do not take any medication for either anymore! How…

Just wanted to give an update and to encourage everyone. I had gastric bypass almost a year ago - November 10th - and to date I've lost a total of 138.8 pounds. I feel amazing! I look totally different! I ran my first 5K two weeks ago. It was slow, but I DID IT! A year ago I was over 300 pounds and never would I have thought that I'd be doing everything that I am now! It was a long hard road and I still have about 40 more pounds to lose, but I am determined to lose it! Keep on keeping on everyone! Reaching your goal IS POSSIBLE!

So, least to say, this week has been eventful, and I want to thank you all for the messages, good thoughts, prayers, and support sent our way this week. I apologize I haven't replied, it's just been hectic. Sunday, I woke up feeling very exhausted, and feeling lots of pressure in my pelvis and back. I just kept on getting things ready for the week, checking things off the list, and hanging out at the house. I laid down for a nap around 1pm, and woke up at 4pm to lots of pressure, and general cramping, just thinking it was normal Braxton Hicks pains, I didn't reallze I was in full active LABOR. Around, 5pm, we headed to Labor and Delivery just because I started fee…

6.8lbs, 19 1/4 inches of adorable is here!!! It's great to know that I will be able to run around and play with the little guy without my weight slowing me down as much, more motivation to continue losing :smile1:

Wasn't sure where to post this, so I am posting it in two places. Please forgive me if you read it twice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At my initial consultation for surgery I weighed 291lbs. Today I am proud to announce I weigh 190lbs. Therefore I have lost 101lbs!!! I am very proud of the accomplishment I just achieved. I honest have a hard time believing I lost that much weight. I have about 40 to 45 more pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal and I hope to reach that by next spring. I will upload pictures a little later. YAY ME!!! Sheila

I know I haven't been on this forum much anymore but I figured I would post a lil something. Last week was my 2nd wedding anniversary (Halloween). When I got married I was 309 lbs and yes all my wedding photos (over 400) show how BIG I was. So for my anniversary my boss gave me a little cute black dress. Her and I talked in great lengths how I can surprise the hubby for our anniversary. Hubby never even knew I had the dress. I don't wear dresses, I'm a jeans girl. Last time I wore a dress was on our wedding day. All I told the hubby before getting ready to go to dinner was that I hope he likes his surprise, he looked at me with this confused look on his face, not kno…

Last night I went to the mall with my family. I wore a size 16 jean. Yes, they are now baggy. As I was walking my underwear started to slide down. At first I was mortified. They would have hit the floor if not for the jeans! It was so embarrassing! My family flanked me so I could (as discreetly as possible) hook a finger around the hip and hold them until I found a restroom. If I ever was in doubt that the sleeve is not working just because I've stalled this week, I'm not anymore. Guess it's time to go down a size :smile1:

This morning I stepped on the scale and it said 174. I haven't been under 175 in years. I almost started to cry but was happy at the same time and told my daughter and we jumped around and had some fun with it. On my way to work I was rolling it around in my head and thought "I wonder if I'm still considered obese at 174????" I pulled up the BMI scale and there it was..... Overweight!!! There the tears came and I couldn't stop them this time. I have been working really hard on my muscle tone because I was feeling squishy and I had gained some weight. I always had in the back of my mind that "muscle weighs more than fat" but it still messes with you when you have los…

Did not know where to post this, or what to title it. So often I read stories about people fitting into wedding or prom dresses, I thought I would share my story. I did 2 tours of Vietnam straight out of High School before going to College on the GI Bill. The one thing I had from all of that was a olive drab combat jacket issued to me by Uncle Sam. I loved that jacket. But it stopped fitting me a long time ago, and it is long gone. Don't have a clue what happened to it. Whenever you see news clips of Vets they are always wearing some clothing from their service. The jacket may not have any meaning to the everyday person, but has many memories to me and has the imm…

I posted earlier that I met goal and that I would post pics. Couldn't figure out how to add them to that link, so I added them to my profile and now, I figured out how to add them. So, here they are. I have lots more, but these will give you an idea of where I started and where I am headed. Kelly

I had an appointment with my surgeon this past week. I'm right at 10 months and I've lost 130 lbs and I'm 10 away from the goal I set. I was at a BMI of 45 and am down to 26!

I posted before and after pics last night, then woke up this morning to my second day at 298.4. I guess I can officially claim it now!

Yahoo! About two weeks before my six month surgiversary I am NORMAL! I've gone from morbidly obese (254 at start of pre-op diet on Feb. 15) to merely obese (Was 222 on day of surgery and down to 216 two weeks after surgery), to merely overweight (185 at about 2.5 months out) to today: 51/2 months and I'm NORMAL! I am so stoked! Just one pound more and I'm in the Century Club. And only 20 lbs. to goal, which will put me at a BMI of 21.8., squarely in the middle of the normal range and will let me bounce up and down 5 lbs. and not be too thin or too fat for my taste. I can feel such a difference in my health and energy levels! I am off all blood pressure and cholesterol…

I was logging my weight this morning and realized that on 4 November of 2010 I weighed in at 193 pounds. Today I weighed in at 139 pounds, just four pounds from goal. WOW. What a difference flipping that 3 and 9 around made in the way I look and feel! I remember very clearly being absolutely thrilled last November that I could wear an XL shirt and size 14 jeans from a standard store - I didn't have to shop plus sizes anymore. A huge accomplishment and one I was very proud of. And yesterday I received six sweaters in the mail, all size small and a pair of jeans in a size six . I'd been fretting since I ordered them that they wouldn't fit because goodness knows t…

Gosh where has the time gone???? It's crazy to think that 6 months ago today, I had the VSG!!! and It's the greatest thing in the WORLD!! I'm down a total of 80 pounds as of today!!! :purplebananna: I'm so close to Onederland and was hoping to be there by today, but hey I'll get there!!! I weighted in today at 203...I started at 282 and since surgery have lost a total of 65 pounds..It has been a struggle the past couple of months, but I knew that would happen. I think that I need to eat more, I don't think that 3 small meals a day is doing enough for me and some days I only drink about 40 ounces of Water..so I'm trying to up both and gonns see if that helps.. I hope e…

Well it has been just over 8 months since I was sleeved. I cannot believe how much weight I have lost! As of today I have lost exactly 100 lbs since the beginning of my 2 week liquid diet...down to the ounce! That puts me 10 lbs below my goal and sitting at 140.8 lbs! I went from wearing a tight 20 size and 1x shirt down to a 4/6 and size small! I did my measurements a few days ago and has lost a grand total of 100 3/4 inches off my body!! NEVER did I picture myself wearing these sizes. I was always very size goal oriented. I really just wanted to wear a size 8 and a large so it amazes me just what the sleeve has done for me :smile1: Even with all the initial issu…

I was banded three days ago and am experiencing pain every time I swallow - is this normal? The pain is not in my throat, it's deep in my chest and seems to build and then burst in a sharp pain. Is this the "gas" I've read about following surgery? It's making me tired and discouraged. I actually thought I'd be better by today. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. -Stacie

I posted this earlier attched to the original thread, but since its one of my first "goals" I set for myself it definately needs to be here under NSV's... It feels like a lifetime ago that I made the below post too. I cried this morning because today, I tried the vest on and it fit! I couldn't wait to show her! I feel amazing. Posted May 8, 2011 - 7:45 PM Let me start by saying that a friend of mine has this vest she wears that I LOVE! I keep telling her she needs to give it to me. Doesnt matter tht she is a size 6/8 an I am a size 18/20 on top, I still want it lol. Of course she always tells me no you cant have it! Well today we had a shopping date, and it was t…

My BMI is 24.8 and that means that I am considered a normal weight. It is so surreal. I am no longer obese or even overweight. This is the first time that I have been a normal weight in more than 15 years. I am 10 months out and only 5 pounds from my personal goal. My mind still plays tricks on me and I dont see myself as small as everyone seems to believe that I am, but I am totally stoked about my results. It is still really mind blowing to think that one year ago today I was 89 pounds heavier. That is crazy. I truly love my sleeve and I have enjoyed my journey thus far and I am looking forward to what the future will bring.

It's funny how our eyes can deceive us at times. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and don't see the drastic change that others say they see. I even put a slide show together for my 100 pound mark and didn't see it like this. It wasn't until I put these two pictures side-by-side when I realized just how much I have changed in the last 8 months. WOW!

Hi Everyone! My 6 month surgiversary was on October 27th! I wanted to really think about what I was going to write up because you all have been such a wealth of knowledge and inspiration and support that I don’t know how I could have gotten where I am today without each and every one of you. I feel like I know all of you personally LOL. My hubby actually said "You act like these people are your close personal friends." one day when I was talking about somebody’s struggle and how I felt for her. Truth be told, this is such a personal journey that without all of you it would be so hard to do, I feel like I'm not alone and that is an awesome feeling. I am 15lbs away from …

Hi Guys! Well of course my Winter coat from last year, size 18, is way too big on me now so I went to my favorite thrift store, The Assistance League, alot of the money goes to help under privledged school kids in Charlotte for school uniforms, supplies and such. They have gotten a lot of stuff from me lately lol. I dropped off my coat and picked up a new one. SIZE 8 COAT!!!! I've mentioned before how I have big shoulders so I was not looking forward to coat shopping because more times than not, it will fit in the shoulders then is too big everywhere else and visa versa :/ Well karma was on my side because it fit perfectly EVERYWHERE! And to top it off, I paid 14 bucks …

So I couldn't really find what the NUTS say. At one month you can eat this. At six months you can eat that How do you know how much you can officially eat. How do you test it. I just eat until I am satisfied, but I don't measure. Sometimes it is more and sometimes it is less. I have been scared of losing too much, and I know my body well enough to know that this is a strong possibility for me. What foods are calorie dense and still good for you? I still have not even started to work out which has to start sometime VERY SOON so I will be looking to add more calories, but I still really only like to eat the foods the mush up in my mouth.
