I have always been a big flirt. Since I have been heavier guys havent been much on flirting back though. I have noticed that since I have almost lost 100 pounds I have a few more guys flirting with me again! hehe...I love it! So I guess this could be considered a nsv!

Those last 4 lbs lost to reach the 100 lbs lost mark seemed like it took forever. It has been less than 7 months since my surgery and now I am only 16 lbs from my goal weight. It actually seems attainable now that I am that close. When I started this journey 100 LBS seemed like a dream but it is now history. Like I mentioned in my blog, I had increased my calorie intake for my strength training. It helped in my exercise and I continued to lose inches but it had slowed my weight loss. Since the weight loss was still my main priority until I reach my goal, I have decreased my calories and carbs back down to 900/80 a day and that got the scale moving again. I am going to in…

I can't believe it's just over 3 months and I'm already halfway there! Imagine if I actually added exercise to the program (which I will in Jan)!! I am so excited! I am down to a 12 petite pants and had to buy new clothes Knee pain...gone feet hurting....nope walk up those stairs...YES! I even spent an entire day walking and shopping and never once got winded or tired. I am real close to having prominent collarbones again. Here's the biggie....I can wear my wedding ring again!!! This was my NSV goal! I do have real bad arms though. My arms never grew normally. They had this HUGE "u" shaped fat roll thing real close to my armpit and the rest towards my elbow was not…

It took me over five years to go from the "thinking about' Phase to execution. I had VSG surgery on Friday... and have thus far been able to return to work. Pre-Op weight loss was about 20 pounds..and over the last 4 days I have lost 3 more.. (Start 399 current 376) I have 180+ pds to go to get to my lifetime goal. I have had so many things to think about sionce having the surgery What will I look Like... how will my behavious change..will I be a completely differnt person Will it change some of the more positive facets of my personality.. Will I still walk and behave like a fat person? I have been fat since pre-puberty... how will this affect me psychologically?…

I just wanted to share my excitement as I hit the first major milestone of my journey... Next stop.............goal!

One year ago today was the beginning of the rest of my life. The past year has been an absolute blessing. I have truly enjoyed everyday of my journey and I am still in total bliss with my sleeve. This has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I feel absolutely wonderful. I have not felt this good in more than a decade. Of course the weight loss has done wonders for my self esteem and self image. It feels wonderful to have people constantly telling you how good you look and being able to receive it because it is true. I love my life. I love how I feel. I really like how I look. Everything is going really great. I have not had one complication. I cou…

I am 7 weeks out and finally (and slowly) adding regular food back into my diet (I couldn't be more excited to finally get a salad LOL). I went through the whole 3-4 week stall and got over it. But my biggest triumph has been the revelation that my relationship with food has changed...and continues to change!!!! The holidays could not be a more perfect a time for this to happen. I attended an office party yesterday and watched my co-workers (large, small and in between pile food onto their plates and into their mouths....and instead of feeling bad about the fact that I was eating so little, I just kept thinking "Wow, that's soooo much food"!!! It's hard to believe …

November 22nd was my one year surgiversary. I have been thinking about what to post, but could not do it. I am not at goal. I have not even lost 100 pounds. I have stalled the last 2 months. What do I have to offer others? Then someone asked me a question that made me look at the past year differently. The following is my story. Goal...hmmmm..... so I have lots of revolving thoughts and feelings around that issue. My ideal goal is 150 pounds. That was my lowest weight ever at age 16 in 11th grade. I only stayed there about 6 months and that was by starving myself (no Breakfast or lunch), apple after school and small dinner so my mom wouldn't know I wasn't eating.…

I can't believe it myself- the time has just flown...sometimes I wake up and remember all over again! I love my sleeve, it is the best thing I ever did.

This has been a miraculous journey. There are many, many ups and of course a few downs. There is nothing that can compare to the decision I made when I chose to have VSG. My choice has changed my life now and forever. It has saved my life now and for the rest of my life I can live like I always knew I wanted to, but didn't. This is a journey and this is only the beginning. I feel I have given myself a second chance and to those that know me know that I have been finally given a first chance to be me and nothing less. I am up for the challenging road ahead and simply want to share my short my fulfilling journey with any that wants to make a change in their life for the bet…

I just realized I can now take off my wedding ring without using Windex! Lol I had to use Windex to get It off before my surgery on Halloween.

I haven't posted alot in a while, not since maybe a few weeks after my surgery. But I felt compelled to share my story because I am so happy and I want to give hope to those who need it. I was one of those. I needed hope because I had none, until today. I am 45 years old, 5'5", mother, wife, and I have been obese for just about all of my adult life. I wasn't always obese. I was actually a thin child and a thin but shapely teenager. It wasn't until my 20's when the weight piled on. It started with the bliss of being married (when I was 21) and continued throughout motherhood. I gained most of my weight after my first son was born. From there it just ballooned up and up ove…

Even though I just had surgery on Monday, I've already had a non scale victory! When I logged today's weight into my fitness pal, it said because I had lost more than 10 pounds, they had to recalculate my goals. I know my calorie goal was over 1300 (which I thought was a bit much) but now it's down 1240. I'm totally psyched! I'm not logging my food right now because I'm just on full liquids. I'm nowhere close to the amount of calories I should be having, so I don't see the sense in it. I love this app!!

I weighed this morning after my walk and I was down to 154.4lbs! So I thought well....maybe I can finally get into a pair of size 14 jeans. And I got them on! Now do I have a hugh muffin top? Oh yeah...in fact, I am wearing a loose shirt to cover the muffin top but at least I can wear the darn thing! I have lost a lot of weight from my butt and thighs and not so much from my big tummy. My apron is getting smaller but still there so I guess I will have start putting in situps and core excercises to get things moving along. It sure feels good though to be shrinking! Love my sleeve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So our mall has one of those trampoline things where they hook u up to a harness and you jump and fly in the air. I DID IT!!!!! You have to be under 200 lbs which I am!! Finally!! In fact I'm 40 lbs below that!! I never would have thought I could do anything like that in my life!! And I did it wearing a sexy green dress

i had surgery in june.. pre and post surgery weight lost total is 78 lbs (i was 248 to 250 lbs before surgery, 228 day of surgery and now I am 170). I went from a size 20W to 12 on my bottom. I am 5'6 and my weight goal is 155 or size 10 bottom.. It has been a slow and steady process, I am very happy with my weight so far. My parents don't know about the surgery and I went home for thanksgiving and I kinda played it off so they did not suspect. They are very adamant though that I shouldn't lose anymore weight, lol, oh well they'll get over it. the pics are obviously before (at my highest weight) and after (last month, november)

I wanted to look and feel confident in myself when I walked across the stage yesterday at 12:30pm so I worked out for 2 weeks straight prior to graduation day. I think I'm still in disbelief that my day finally came but it was a great feeling! I feel like my sleeve gave me the confidence and the courage to get as far as I have in less than a year. I had planned to post pone my graduation until May but I didn't and I'm glad I stuck to it. I'm glad I stuck to having my sleeve, I'm glad I found you guys here at VST, this has been one of the greatest years of my life. I attached a pic below

Today I had to return some clothes I ordered online to Fashion Bug and managed to get the sister who doesn't totally hate shopping to go with me. Since I was returning clothes because they were too big it was okay to browse as long as I didn't spend more then I was refunded right? Well, shopping is so much fun right now! In August I remember being in Fashion Bug to get an outfit for my uncles 80th bday and crying in the dressing room when I had to try on 4x because 3x just didn't work anymore. So today I go into the dressing room with a few shirts in 3x and one 2x just because they didn't have it in a 3x. I tried on the 2x first because I figured I could cheer myself up…

We're coming up on our one year bandiversary in a couple weeks so I'm wondering how everyone is doing. Not just weight loss but also NSV's. How has your life improved. What are you able to do this year that you couldn't or wouldn't do last year? For me, I'm down 38 lbs per my last dr's visit but my nsv's are many. I feel better, my lab numbers are in the normal range, I'm wearing smaller clothes, people who haven't seen me in a while do a double take and a gal told me yesterday that I'm a shadow of my former self. I thought I'd be very close to my goal by now but it took me some time to get to the "green zone". Also, I've never been a fast loser and that still seems…

Well... just stepped on the scale 4 times and each time it kept insisting that I'm 200lbs. I told to stop kidding me but it will not recant! When I started this journey at 342lbs I was hoping to see 240lbs... the 'recommended' weight for my height seemed like a joke.. and now I'm 15 little pounds away. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am right now. I'm so very grateful for everything that I have in my life! I feel great! Today I want to thank the stars, gods, surgeons, friends, family... this awesome community. *happy dance*

Today i can celebrate the loss of 200 lbs and i am now exactly half the person i was when i started this journey. I have a little way to go yet and then i have to start on the plastic surgery .. even if i cant afford to get this excess skin removed i would still be happy that the weight has gone.

So, tomorrow I have a full day planned of ME time! I'm going to meet a good friend for lunch and girl talk. She's been out of town training for a new job for over 3 weeks, so we have lots to catch up on. Then, we're going for the full spa treatment: waxing eyebrows and chins, pedicures, manicures, haircuts. Ahhh, it sounds so relaxing. For me, it's a combination of rewards: Hitting 1/3 of my weight lost, losing 180 pounds (DH, not dear), making my Christmas challenge and getting rid of my bi-pap machine. I haven't made ALL of them yet, but I will within the next week. Besides, I've had a stressful week and this is my Christmas gift to myself. I think the ladies will …

All of my pants are falling off and I refuse to buy any until after Christmas. All of my size 10's are too big. This is great but now I look all frumpy like I did before when I was trying to hide the fat rolls.LOL! Humor is the best medicine right? Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year!! What a life changing event! I would recommend what I did to anyone in the same situation as I was 100% (has problems with portion control but still relatively active). I no longer live to eat and for the first time in my life I feel comfortable with myself and how I look. I stopped weighing every week as I've maintained a 180lbs for the last handful of months straight. Shameless shirtless pic included:
-
9 months out yesterday, and I have been maintaining between 179-182 for three months now. My doctor ordered me to stop losing weight when I hit 180. I have a lot of loose skin, but it is tightening up on my chest and arms somewhat. Still have a lot of orthopedic pain in my lower back and hips. Saw the ortho doc about it, and I don't have any hip or disc issues according to the imaging. His theory is that my body has changed so much, I still need more time to adjust and its just sciatica. I would say my biggest complaint is the weird pains in my joints from the complete loss of padding in my butt... especially since I drive an hour each way to work and have a desk job. …

So I just decided to walk 2 miles. I'm in Florida and the weather is beautiful! As I'm walking my pants are falling down. So I reached for the drawstring in the front and WTHeck? no drawstring. So I felt around the back and realized I had my pants on backwards. No wonder the landscaping guys were looking at me funny huh. Well I see it as a NSV. What do you think?

Good morning VST!! Today I am 15 Months Post Op revision from Lap Band to VSG. I am also over 3 months Post Op from my Breast Augmentation and I'm 5 weeks Post Op from my Lipo procedures. Time passes very quickly when you're having fun!! I always said I wanted a J-Woww or J-Hud body when I was complete. Well I think I got that!! LOL Anyway, I'm not about emulating others really, because I'm ME and that's who I really need to be happy with. And I am. I've finally given up on losing more weight. I realize due to my working out, eating habits and especially since I still have many months left yet in my healing from my Lipo's I'm still going to get smaller. Tha…

I received a great Birthday present on December 4th. I got on the scale that morning and I met goal!!! The best birthday present ever. i am finally at a normal BMI for the first time in my adult life. Now I do not know at what point my weight loss will stop. I am thinking I can lose another 5 pounds or so. I am currently wearing a size 8/29 pants and medium or small top depending on the style. I am not as focused on the size as much as the weight, because the weight is what my joints and body feels on a day to day basis. I am really nervous about starting "maintenance" because this is when I fear I will get too relaxed and have weight creep. So, I am not going to…

I haven't been around the site much lately but I just felt like posting today.. It's my 1 year bandeversary, although I am not where I wanted to be at this point (I had much higher expectations but was unable to live up to them)... Who was I kidding thinking that being banded was going to turn me into Jane Fonda or Denise Austin?? yeah ok, I don't think so, I know me better than that.. But anyway so far so good, I really can't complain. I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of my band, and of course some determination on my part and the support of my super amazing boyfriend, his family and my bestgirlfriends. I had so hoped to be 100lbs down in my first year…

Hi everyone, I have been on BP meds every since I got married in 2003. Kind of funny and sad all at the same time. I had my surgery in August but yesterday when I visited my PCP she took me off everything. I do need to return in 3 months for a check up to see how I am doing but otherwise--I am doing great. My only issue is Iron and that's because of the excessive bleeding from the fibroid tumors. I was taking Toprol 100mg, Lisinipril (2x per day) 20 mg, Triamertene/HCTZ 75/50 (fluid pill) One of other note, I got the titanium rod taken out of my leg from an accident in 2003 (which they "never" take out) and I am doing fine. I go back to work Monday. :-)

Hi all!! So I will be a yr out on jan 24th 2012. It has been a crazy, happy, sad, exhausting, mind blowing yr! I've made mistakes, went a little too crazy, but came back and I love my freaking sleeve. I started this journey at 304 at a size tight 24. As of today I am 158 and a size 7-10 depending on the clothrd and m/l shirt. I only have 8 lbs til I am a healthy bmi and 18 lbs til goal (which I might even lower!!) I am still losing about a lb a week with some stalls. This is amazing to me! I don't ever remember being this small. I still have a lot of toning to do and am planning on getting ps. I don't think of myself as small or beautiful but I've noticed the way peopl…

Good Morning Friends! It's been a couple of months since I did a surgery update, so I thought I'd post some new pictures and thoughts. I'll start by saying how incredibly lucky I feel to have had the sleeve. It has changed my life in ways that I never thought possible. If you had shown me a picture of how I would look in five months, I would have laughed at you and said it was impossible; there is no way that I could be that small...but yet here I am. Here are some points of interest about how my life is with the sleeve: I have lost 65 pounds (77% of my excess body weight) I ran a 5k this month My hair is falling out like CRAZY! I still have issues with throwing u…

I know.... Those 2 words don't sound like they should be together but I make it work today!!! My hubby and I were doing the majority of our Christmas baking today, and yes I DID sample the goods. BUT.... I only sampled after I had eaten a meal so sampling was at a minimum. Also, I had a break that was about 25 min long. So instead of going and plopping myself on the couch or at the table, I leashed up the dog and took her for a 20min bike ride ( it was a beautiful crisp day here in Vancouver, Canada!!!) then came back and got tobaking again. Yay me!!! I never would've done that before!!!!

I was at a bar with some really awesome girls from college and their drop dead gorgeous boyfriends on Saturday night. I went to the bathroom and when I was coming back I heard one of my friends ask "where did blah blah go?" her date responded, "The MILF? I think she's in the bathroom." Me. The MILF. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I feel pretty, and sexy, and more confident than I ever have before. GO ME. 4lbs from ONEDERLAND. Determined to get there before Christmas!

So, 5 months after my surgery, I am down 40 pounds from the weight that I was the day of surgery (50 pounds down from a year ago). Last year and this year I was Santa's elf at a local Christmas program. The picture shows me last year and this year. The top is the same one, but obviously, I had to get new pants.

I went shopping today and could fit in a 1x (is this an 18)? without it being too tight on me. I got a christmas shirt that is red with gems on it and a black /white work shirt. I used to be a 3x in college and a 2x before starting the pre - op diet. I haven't weighed myself since the surgery but I may have dropped 7-10 lbs since. I'm so thrilled!!

I had two NSVs: 1) I was able to kneel all through the Catholic Mass without hurting or leaning against the seat. In fact there was 2 inches between my butt and the seat. 2) A legally blind lady at my church asked me if I had lost weight. Yay sleeve!

MyFitnessPal has been promising me that in 5 weeks I would weigh below 200 pounds since September. It was not accurate. Initially, I thought I would get below 200 before Halloween, but it didn't happen. Then, I thought it would happen before Thanksgiving, but it didn't happen either. I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen before Christmas. I was hovering just above Onederland. My scale kept saying things like 200.4 and 200.6 and even the very cruel 200.0, but it was not showing anything that started with a 1 until today. I had started telling myself that I was very happy with losing 55 pounds, and I felt great and even if I never lose any more, I am hap…

I am so excited and thought I would share...down 23 pounds in 20 days!!! I was banded on Nov. 22nd, and didn't have to do a pre-op diet. My surgeon said he was very impressed with my progress! I have one more week of soft foods, then transition back to regular foods. A little worried...hoping I will continue to be able to lose at this rate.

Hi everyone! Last post I made on this forum I was a bit confused and scared about my weight loss progress since I had lost my insurance in the middle of it all and was clueless as to how I was doing in terms of Vitamins and weight loss. Well, as I mentioned before I was able to get my insurance back and finally went in for a follow up appointment 6 months after surgery. As per my nutritionist, I am doing really well in terms of weight loss! As far as all my Vitamin levels go, I was low on Iron, (to be expected because I have a bleeding disorder) and on Calcium. Everything else was normal and right were it needed to be, especially the Protein levels! She recommended I ch…

This is not a success story but I am posting it here because when you reach goal or lower, these are issues that I am dealing with. So here are the issue I am having now. I get constantly told how skinny I am or that someone does not like me because "your skinny". I get looks, I get stares, and I get under breath comments. I also am constantly being told..."You need to eat more!" or "When are you gonna stop loosing weight, you don't want to look sick?" or "Are you sick, did something happen to you?" WOW.......this is really getting to me. I know others in my position have or are currently dealing with some of these issues. I try to be patient and calm when som…

I have always LOVED the photos of people standing in one pant leg of their "fat pants". I never thought I would be able to do this... but tonight for fun I got the pants out (I can't find my 22s, so I used my 20s) Here goes! I took my measurements at two weeks after surgery... and from then till now I have lost 11 inches off my waist, 7" off my butt and 5" off each thigh. Here is also a photo of my 20s under my 13s. I still have 10 pounds to go, so maybe I will take photos then too.... I LOVE fat pant photos! How about you?

I had my band "installed" a week ago. I lost 6 pounds the first week simply because I was starving. I was weak, hungry constantly (which was a huge disappointment). I am much better this week because I can actually eat food. The problem is, I can't survive on 1/4 cup of food 3x a day without being hungry again. Also, I can eat a lot more than 1/4 cup without any problems. I'm afraid I'm going to gain back the six. Should I have my band adjusted already. So far I'm not very happy with this.

So, I said I wouldn't try for those Size 0's after all... well... I took them out of my closet to possibly return them for a larger size, which I was going to go for a 4. For some crazy reason I though, what the heck - I'll try them on... why not? Who cares? It would just be interesting to see how far I can get them up. Well... take a look: For the record, I'm a little weirded out by this. I still have a lot of swelling to go down from my lipo. How small am I gonna get??? WOWWWW!!! Happy? ABSO FREAKIN LUTELY!!!! I fitted my Zero's without even trying!!!! I LOOOVE YOU SLEEVIE!!! I LOVE YOU LIPO SURGEON!!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

Okay, we all know that as we lose weight, we begin to carry ourselves differently and some of us make changes. Well, last weekend I got a haircut, a completely different look. I always wore my hair in a bun to work for the last several months, but Monday I went in with my hair down. Needless to say, it got a good bit of attention and comments. But what I didn't know about was what happened on the other side of the room until one of my friends told me - one of the new guys fell out of his chair trying to get a look at the "new girl", lol! I don't think I stopped smiling the rest of the night
