That is so wonderful to hear!!!!! Congratulations! How are you feeling with the 7ccs? Do you feel more restriction? I have a 14cc band too, and I have 6.5ccs. I am feeling more restriction. I am eating lunch right now, lentil Soup, I have had 4 bites and I am almost full. Keep up the good work!:frown:

Thank You Lisa. 6.5 is what I had last month I felt restriction in the beginning and then went back to only some. This fill I got yesterday, and they used the xray machine for the first time. Doc said he thinks I should be good. I am on liquids, but I am not even hungry.

A quick report to my fellow december bandsters!

I have had a run of bad luck physically and have got a little setback so, here goes the short list;

1) I have rotator cuff surgery scheduled for Wednesday (3/17). This should also be an overnighter, so back to the liquids (better than regular hospital food....and I won't be in the mood to be packing and keeping up with it myself, probably). Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts that day. It's St Patty's day and I don't have to think about drinking alcohol!

2) 2 weeks ago, my potassium went very low and my heart went into A-fib. (pulse about 190) so, a lot of tests and was told to stop exercising. All sorted out now or I wouldn't be on the calendar for surgery!

3) Tuesday morning I fell on my right knee and tore my lateral ligament on the inside of my R knee. back to no exercise for a while again to give this a chance to heal.

My weight loss did resume, albeit slow and steady.....but I'm sure this will stop it again until I can get back to an exercise regimine at rehab on 3/24.

It sure looks like quite a few of my fellow bandsters are reporting some steady losses......let's try to get into some nice summer clothes and really be happy this summer. I'm still looking for my yellow polka doty bikini!!!!

Keep the positive attitudes and food watching (calorie counting as well!)

Anthony

Crazy but I am not willing to give up my 40 lbs lost goal.. Not sure what others did for this but yeah.. I bought a ww scale and am hoping it holds up for at least a year... How is everyone else doing..

I do not have a scale. I only weigh myself when I go to the doctor. I use a measuring tape to track inches lost. If I had a scale, I would be stepping on it every second of the day! I would drive myself crazy!!! LOL

Hello fellow bandsters. I have been a bad girl this weekend. Drinking and eating out. Luckily I am only up a pound and I am getting back to my exercisnig today! My kids dropped our hair clippers on my little toe on Wednesday and I haven't been able to get my tennis shoes on, so I havent been going to the gym. But I am back in full swing today!!

Oh and I must be reliving my younger days because yesterday I went and got my nosed pierced. It does look really cute and I cant wait to get a smaller stud in it. I had just about everything pierced when I was in my late teens/early twenties. Maybe being 30 now is doing somethign to me ...well that and losing weight!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I had the same thing happen when I changed scales, but I think I wore the first one out!!!

Keep going and don't worry about adding the 2 to the starting weight just because you changed scales. You're still getting the weight loss and that's what matters the most!

Thank you all for the kind words and I'll check back after Wednesday when I get home!

Hi all from Bristol, Virginia. We will arrive in DC on my birthday tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to catch up but wanted to check in.

It will take us a total of 4 and half days to travel coast to coast. So far the trip has been uneventful. Thank God! We stopped one night in Oklahoma City, Ok to see his brother and his girlfriend. We went out to dinner. The hotels have been an interesting trek. I like to stay at Courtyard, Marriotts and in Memphis we couldn't do that. Long story but made it through.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be 51.

food has been difficult to say the least. On the run it's hard to find food that won't get stuck. I've been eating a lot of slider foods. Once we are in DC things will calm down and I'll get back to normal. I did have Prime Rib tonight but only about 3 oz. My husband says I'm a cheap date now since I don't eat much...lol. I haven't actually been good but maintaining.

We will be in DC for 5 days and then head back the Northern route. We took route 66 to get here. My dad lives in Northern Indiana. He's 89 and we will see him for sure. The way back will be much easier.

My husband wanted to get here in time to protest the signing of the health care bill...lol. Actually he's never been to our Nation's captial and he is very patriotic and very much Republican. He will really enjoy it. We are going to see everything. It was really a birthday present to us both!

I'll check in when I can. Love to all of you...I miss you...really.. Dottie

Dottie,

Happy Bithday and welcome to the 51 year old group of happy people. I think that being a cheap date and just plain cheap are definitely 2 different kind of women, so enjoy your husband's compliment!

I am glad you are getting out and trying the "normal" way that people eat on the road. Dried foods (jerky, dried fruit, etc....) may help you on your trip!! I usually resort to that when we go to my daughter's house 8+ hours away!

I hope you enjoy your day and have a safe trip!

Sushi = A BAD idea (just in case any of you were thinking about it).

Sorry you had trouble with sushi. I had some about a month ago and did fine, but I have also had another fill since then.

Really? Oh, I'm SO jealous!... It's passed now thankfully, but I've been uncomfortable (and sliming - eww) for the past THREE hours. "Gabrielle" - I just decided to name my band - is PISSED! I'm still working on that small bites/25 chews thing, so maybe that was my problem.

I just read your post - congrats on the new bling! I'm sure it looks cute and has everything to do with the fact that you're reinventing yourself. *I've been overdoing it with drinking lately too. I'm thinking about just quitting altogether to save on the calories.

Tracy..we both must be going through it. I keep looking at tattoos and really want another one!

Dottie--Happy B-day!!

Anthony--sorry you have been going through so much! You'll just have to Celebrate St. Patty's later :smile2:

Me-Down almost 30lbs now. Go for fill #3 Friday..but going to ask for a very conservative one because we are going away for the weekend and will be 3 hours from a hospital. Went to Kohl's over the weekend (had some awesome sales) and now that I have clothes that actually fit ...man can i see the difference. Lost about 2 pant sizes and one shirt size so far!! Praying I am in ONEDERLAND by vaca in May (20lbs by May15). It will be possible...but I won't stress too much!

Glad to hear all of the successes as well. WE ROCK!! (can you tell I like smilies lol)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
