Candice

That's pretty much why I eat the same thing over and over - so I don't have to think about it - just do it.. You sorta eat on auto piolet - The less discussion you have to make the less room you give yourself to make excuses for eating something other than whats on plan

Hi!

Gym went well yesterday. Used the four weight machines the trainer started me on... 2 arms, 2 legs. Don't remember how many repetitions he told me to do, but I know I did more, and I upped the weight on one of the leg machines to 50 lb. Then I did 20 minutes on the recumbent bike. Then I had to go all the way back and up those stupid steps AGAIN because I left my book on the bike!

Now... pay attention to this because this is BIG....... This morning, I got up BEFORE 7 a.m., went to the gym and was on the bike by 7:30 a.m. Did 20 minutes on the bike again and then down to the pool for 45 minutes of PT. It was much more rigorous today and I got a really good workout. And the pool Water was up to 96, so I sweat like a pig!! My face was still red 1/2 hr after I got home.. and that was after a shower and a stop by the Surf Shack for my latte.

36_35_8.gif

Problem is I was back home by 9:30 a.m. and now I'm bored. I think I will have to go for a cruise around the neighborhood on my scooter. Or steal the car and go to the pet store to look at puppies! Or go to Tracy & Jim's and get some cuddles from Gigi! They are watching their grandchildren today.

LOL if my vote counts, go steal the car!!!

Had a super day today. Met up with my BFF Dar we went into town for our mutual BOtox sessions. I got my crows feet on the side of my eyes done, my BFF had her eyes done as well as between her eyebrows... we are hooked... much more fun than going to the casino!!!

Also went to costco to buy Pro. Bars, ya right!! $160 later....

But I treated myself today for staying on food PLAN.... I bought myself to summer tops- one in Royal Blue the other Aqua.. I think they`ll look nice.

ALso, I figure for every week I stick to my food plan, I am going to Walmart or whereever and buy myself a top or shorts or whatever... just to give myself CREDIT!!!

Came home and had raw veggies and dip... I made my own dip out of a can of BABY CLAMS, Lite Cream cheese, onion, garlic, worchestershire sauce... OMG was it ever good and it has PROTIEN !!

Now this is huge, I ate raw veg yesterday, today for lunch I had a salad wéchicken breast on it (ate 1/2 and brought home the rest for DH), then for dinner tonight VEGGIES and dip.... yeah me!!! 900 cals so far for today...

Ill have my planned snack later.

Stephanie, how did your Kettle Corn sale go???

Candice, you go girl!! remember to get 60 grams of protien in!

Last night my sister was here, we hadn't really talked since dad died and remember she didn't come home. It was good, a few tears, but in general good. She just irritates me because they whine about how much things cost while sitting in their multi-100,000 dollar motorhome, their new winter home in Arizona they just built, their weekend cabin (6 bedroom/7bathroom/3 garages)on the lake & golf course, AND their retirement home they are building. Get real, is you can have all those things, money is NOT a concern.

Candice, actually Simon is only 3 years old and this is his 2nd suspicious lump. So I do worry.

Well, found out today that still teaching 6th graders next year. I guess I better work on my warm and fuzzy nasal whiping parent soothing techniques. BLECK

Oh Phyl, I took your advise with hummus. I have never really liked hummus, but for lunch today I had hummus with a wedge of laughing cow light on a couple of crackers. I used hummus with dried Tomato and basil, it was delish & filling. So I vote for some laughing cow light at the beach house.

My student that called me a -itch on friday made threats towards me on Monday while he was in ISS (in school suspension). So now the police are involved and he has been removed from school for the week while a 'risk' assessment is done to determine if the threats are valid.

I had to chuckle at our last staff meeting, our principal was giving us a 'lecture' about the need to wear business casual wear and not 'weekend' clothes AND that when we go shopping this fall for school clothes we needed to keep that in mind. The reason I chuckled...I haven't afforded to go 'school' shopping in several years. My raise for next year will be....wait for it.....$100. Not per month... for the whole year. My luck, it will put me in a higher tax bracket that will I take home less $$$.

Of course, your vote counts!

But, I didn't do it!

But I AM watching the dog ads in the paper EVERY day!

That dip sounds GREAT! Thinking of other things you could put in it... oysters, smoked salmon, etc.!

I buy that lite cream cheese all the time. Sometimes I mix it with a little hummus. I'm finding I don't really care for the sun dried Tomato hummus, but I really like the garlic hummus. I mixed some of that wonderful garlic stuff I got at the store near you... up in the mountains. with the sun dried hummus and that is good. But I really don't like the taste of the sun dried tomatoes, with or without the garlic. The garlic just makes it more palatable!

You're doing GREAT!

Part of this day I did good, lunch, not so good!

Had a Kashi GoLean bar for Breakfast on the way to the gym, which I rinsed down with a little coffee. Then after my workout, my SF, FF latte.. only have to count the skim milk. But.. lunch time.... guess who decided he had to have pizza! He made his goal yesterday at TOPS. He was way over when we got home. So he's treating himself now... but very conservatively. So he bought a Dominoes thin crust pizza. The crust is really, really thin... so that cuts out a lot of calories. And the pepperoni they use is definitely not as greasy as most, and not much cheese. So I don't feel to bad about eating some for lunch. Dinner was a very small amount of angel hair spaghetti with sauce Earl made last week.. tomatoes, onions, garlic and a little bit of turkey Italian sausage.

Okay.. Laughing Cow is on the shopping list. When we were at Candice's last summer, she made some home made hummus that was really good! All I remember is she started with canned chick peas and a little olive oil... then she'll have to tell us what else went in to it.. garlic, I think. It was really good!

WTG Phyl !!!!! yep when you do all that early in the a.m. you are motivated - you don't want to sit around the house - that's my problem - I go shopping :0)

So what did you do ;o) get a puppy ;0)... Or just go visit your grandpuppy

WTG Candice !! So Proud of you !!!! See you can do it!!! and yes a outfit a week is a great reward !!!!

So glad you could eat veggies & salad !!!! I find I can eat almost anything as long as I eat slowly and chew ;0)

Candice, you go girl!! remember to get 60 grams of protien in!

Karla - I got a better cheese than that cow stuff - and it has less calories - Cabots Vermont cheese - Costco - 36 snack pack size or $8.99 and guess what only 50 calories and it taste like the real stuff !!! and then I found these crackers 16 for 130 cal - made from almonds and rice - gluten free..

I LOVE garlic hummus and it is filling too - I think I am going to try and make my own - chick peas & garlic - maybe I can make it for less calories - cuz I think 2 tablespoons is 70 calories..

Well girl you got a raise ... I haven't had one in 2 yrs (raise) - no contributions to 401k - and furloughed (lost pay) lost 2 vacation days and copay on insurance is up since I make less $$ - so don't feel like the lone ranger.

On the sis issue - I had to spend an hour at the bank - cuz she wants to be on the bank account for bro estate - she doesn't want copies of bank statements from me (I don't know what she thinks I'm doing and the bank statements don't tell her who I wrote checks to) any way the stupid kid say I have to change from a personal account to a business account - he has to call someone - they tell him just give her a signature card - this kid didn't know wtf to do.. But I had to waste my time and get aggrevated cuz my sis thinks I'm a theif..

Ya like I am going to steal - like I need to - I'm not her... I told the lawyer - I was going to box it all up and say- have at it..

She said no - they have found a trustee and it shouldn't be much longer..

And I don't care how rich you are pple always bitch about how much things cost..

Pple who have $$ are tighter than those who don't - hell look at Earl - lol - jking ;0) couldn't help myself - but like Phyl says they have enough for their retirment - but he pinches every penny..

Well still no Andrew - looks like he came home - but he and dog aren't here - so me and my animals are enjoying the peace and quite w/o ryder

Idol tonite - I am voting for LEE .. I like him better than Crystal... I will be happy if she wins (which I think she will - but remember last yr - Kris one over Adam)

Wow! Another Mexicali earthquake!! Did you feel it??

No puppy! I think I'd have to find another home if I got one.

Grumpy is still saying an emphatic NO! I just love that little Gigi! I wish I could find a dog just like her. I am watching the ads in the paper every day.

I will look for that Cabot cheese at costco. That sounds like a good idea.

Your sister needs a smack!! What a jerk! I'd just ignore her. It's almost all settled now anyways, isn't it?? So what's the point. If she's acting like that, I'd be suspicious about why she is so adamant about wanting to be on the account. You have no obligation to do that if your brother named you as administrator. In fact, i'd go so far as to stay, it would violate his wishes! Don't do it! No point and too much red tape.

So, I didn't go puppy shopping, but we did do our "lake walk" this afternoon. Stopped at Safeway on the return trip. They have the Lean Cuisines on sale right now for $1.88... today the last day, though, and, just like Albertson's a week or so ago, if you buy 6 you get a free box of Skinny Cows! So I got some more of the white chocolate/mint truffles. They are SO good and only 100 calories. The free Skinny Cows is good until the 25th, but the cost of the Lean Cuisines goes up tomorrow. Probably the same deal at Von's since they are owned by the same parent company.

She's co-adminstrator - well it got done w/o too much hassle but enough- well it's not done yet gotta get the paper work to the attonery - but ya by the time it's all said and done - the account will be closed.

Just when I think things are cool w/her - she does this crap - so forget about her...

am stuffed should have quit eating when I was done w/my fish - but being of that clean plate club - just had to eat it all -

1/3 green Beans and 1/3 rice

Idol is on - cbl

Hang in there Janet, it will be settled and done with soon.

Phyl, what if you ask Earl to get you a puppy as a gift? Or have the kids give him one for father's Day? My sister is in a similar situation. She just loves having a kitty around and her DH hates them. She ended up putting her kitty down shortly after they were married because he hated it so. Me...love me....love my furries. But that is easy for me to say since I don't have a DH to worry about nor have one in the forseable future.

Janet I normally love Survivor, but this season, just couldn't get into it. Had a good idea that Russel would be in contention, and I just couldn't stand him. I think it is about time to end the program. It has had a good run, but now it just seems to contrived.

DD#1 got her quilt and loved it.That makes it worth evey stitch. Of course now I'm thinking I need to make one for myself...dumb. I don't need another project.

Well best get it in gear, TTFN

Went and go my hair cut today.... devious me:tongue2: Just in case DH thought I looked a bit differnt I can just say "OH I just got my hair cut that must be it"

I had anothe BOTOX session yest. and I can already see a dif. I'll put up some pics in a few days when it really TAKES hold... beleive it or not it takes up to 10 days to see the effects, it paralyses your muscles slowly... then they stay "frozen" for 4 - 6 mos.

This is what I am spending my money on instead of CASINO!!

Try not to be upset when she complains about $$$ I know its hard not to be jealous.... and frankly she is a little insensitive to talk money in front of you...thats a pretty personal subject!!! Plus she knows that you take home a teachers salary (oh and congrats on the $100 raise:crying: what are THEY thinkiing) Those school administrators need their heads read... If they are going to dictate WHAT you must wear to school then THEY should pay for the UNIFORM...JMHO:huh2:

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
