Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just started WW for the first time last week and had my first weigh in today. Amazingly, I lost 6 pounds!!!! I don't think I have ever lost 6 pounds in a week...well maybe the VERY first week of the pre-band diet when I weighed 230 ):

One thing that helped was a big pot of zero point mexican Soup.

Glad someone started this thread...I think the band plus weight watchers is a great combo.

BTW, I have an appointment for a consultation with a plastic surgeon on Friday. It took a while for me to get up the nerve to call. I'm nervous - so wish me luck!!!!

Whoot!! Let us know how it goes tomorrow! I really want some plastics done myself. Mostly a breast augmentation and to have skin removed from my arms and thighs... it's just.. yuck. :(

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: ...and yes, I LOVE WW!!!:biggrin: Welcome by the way, you're doing fantastic!

I still stayed in my points yesterday all, but for some reason I've been eating too much popcorn. It makes me feel bloated the next day so I need to make sure I stop doing that for awhile. Once in awhile is ok, not every day - even if I am staying in my points. I should used those points for healthy options like fruits and veggies which I must say I have not gotten enough of lately.

Wishing all much success!! :smile2:

Hi all! I joined WW yesterday (won't officially stary until next week after I see my lb doc, as she wants to take some points away). So excited to find this thread and read every single post! What great motivation! :thumbup:Now I can't wait to start WW and maybe FINALLY see some movement on the scale again. I've been stalled for almost a month. Partially because I haven't had a fill yet and partially I think because my life has been crazy lately so I haven't been as focused on my diet and exercise as I should be.

Next week I not only start WW, but am going to try to convince my doc I need a fill (she keeps telling me she's super conservative about them which is why she hasn't given me one yet) and also I'm starting a new workout routine with a co-worker. Has anyone ever Zumbaed before? Looks super fun! ...as long as I don't stroke out from the intensity. :)

Keep up the good work ladies! Can't wait to be posting my own success right along with you!

Welcome Katie!!! Good luck - WW is a really great combo with the band. If you journal absolutely everything you eat, you can't NOT lose.

Well ladies, I officially made it from OBESE to just OVERWEIGHT this morning. I almost cried. My BMI is 29.9. OMG I just don't know how to feel  I've been overweight my whole life and obese since middle school, I guess.

I was in Walgreens yesterday and two employees were talking about, a "heavyset girl". In the past, I would automatically assume they meant me, even though they probably didn't. I realized yesterday that I actually didn't think they were talking about me. It's hard to explain. It's like a complete mind-shift. I'm not the "fat friend" anymore. At least in my own head I'm not

Going to see a plastic surgeon today at 1:30. My stomach is doing flip flops!

Hello Katie! Welcome to the home for Banded WW folks. You will do really great with it along with the band if you just keep on keeping on. You're not going to be perfect, oh no - but WW will always give you another chance every morning you wake up.

LILLY!!!!!! HOORRAAYYY!!!!! (((hugs))) That is SO fantastic! I'm waiting for that day...

It's really hard to get our minds wrapped around the fact that we aren't that person we left behind. It may take a really really long time in fact.

Well WW friends, this week wasn't the best. I think I'm up 2 lbs. I think that weight I lost last week was solely from starving from being sick... However I'm still way into the loss column and I can't let that set me back. Okay... okay... I can also blame all the popcorn I'd been eating... hehe. I didn't have any yesterday so at least I'm not losing that battle!

I'm so glad I start over tomorrow. I'm going to track track track! I'm not going over 24 points a day if it kills me! I know it won't but hey - it feels like it sometimes.. lol. If I can stay at 24 pts or under for the whole week then I get my day of rest next Friday. If not, well then I'm going to have to forfeit that!

Okay and I'll post my points like I'm really supposed to be doing!

Everyone have a great day! Hugs and much success!

Just got back from seeing the plastic surgeon. I absolutely loved him! He said I'm a good candidate for everything I want to get done and I'm excited to schedule the first surgery (it's going to take 3).

I was in a great mood until I talked to my husband. He pooped all over my parade by insisting I get another consultation. This is a man who literally won't buy a toaster unless he researches it online and checks out Consumer Reports. I'm not kidding.

So, now I have to see at least one more surgeon, even though I don't want to and it's a big pain in the a** and I have to get someone to watch the kids and drive all the way down to Hollywood again and get naked in front of him and blah blah blah. I was so excited and now I'm bummed.

but i'm not going to beat myself up....just get back on the horse.

china: have fun on vacation...

lillyanne: i just had plastic surgery in may (TT and breast lift) . i saw 3 surgeons for consultation and i have to say i'm glad i did. i learned alot from each one and ended up with one i found out about on this website. he was actually the 3rd consultation i went to. plastic surgery is a big deal and well worth the time investment....good luck in your research.

lilmissdiva: i hear ya' .... i'll make the same commitment about not going over my points and posting daily. i get 22. i also have to stop snacking so much in between. i stay in my points but i dont think grazing is a good idea....

Hi all - quick check in. Going to see the 2nd plastic surgeon today. I can't find any patient reviews anywhere on the web about him, but he was recommended by my bariatric surgeon, so I guess he must be ok.

Wish me luck!

If the doctor is recomending the plastic surgeon you can have your surgeon have one of his patients call you (someone who has had the work done)./////

As a rule the Bariatric Surgeon will always send you to a great plastic surgeon

Please keep us posted as NOW I do not need it but am begining to see the SIGN

omg...but excess skin will be better than the alternative for me:sleep:

Hi Jolly, great job on keeping up with your journal! I've been bad since last week by not doing mine! I just keep falling away from it! I need a kick in the butt you all! I need to be journaling for sure!

Jolly, in no way is losing 10 lbs in a week a healthy choice. The best rate of weight loss is 1-2 Lbs per week. I would like to remind everyone here of that. I've even noticed that when you type in your weight at the journaling site it will tell you this and gives several reasons to stay on a 1-2 lbs per week plan.

I did lose 11 lbs my first week being banded... which was fantastic! But I also knew my body should not continue losing that rapidly. I also felt just beat down as a result.

I did see BL, and was a bit dismayed with the whole concept of making them lose so much in one week. It's so ridiculous, and not healthy! Calories In: 1200 Calories Out: 6000  In what world is that a good thing?

Anyhow, wishing everyone a successful week! I really need to be sure to get back to my tracker! I can't lose it now... :)

Miss Irene: Hang in there. I'm struggling too at not losing any weight at all. I'm exercising every day and trying to eat at least 1200 calories. The biggest benefit is that I do feel better and, in the long run, that's all that matters.

LillyAnn: You are so fortunate to be able to get plastic surgery. Good luck on finding the right doctor to do the work! I know you will come out just beautiful.

Everyone take care and get back on track and stay there!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
