How Many cc's in your band and how is

Recommended Posts

I went in for my first fill 4/25, doctor put in 3cc's. Before my fill I could eat just about anything and large amounts. I was restricting myself to 1 cup because I did not want to gain. After my fill I am very tight! My normal Breakfast is 1 pkg of high Fiber oatmeal and 1 boiled egg but today I could only eat less than 1/2 pkg and 1/2 egg white and it took me a good hour to eat it. I dont know if I am too tight yet, I feel tight but I am going to give it a week and see how it goes.

I'm now just past halfway to my goal. I now have 6.3, and I feel perfectly adjusted.

I am tight enough in the morning to only be able to eat yogurt or some other mushy....which is what I would usually eat anyway.

lunch I can eat, if I'm careful and pay attention.

dinner, I can eat anything, but very limited on amount. I have my band adjusted to what I want for the evening meal, as that is when I'm mostly likely to have trouble.

Lucky, give it a few days. There is always swelling after a fill, therefore it will feel extra tight. As the days go by you will probably not feel as tight as you are right now.

Hello everyone I was banded with the realize band 12/22 I currently have 6cc"s in my band I got 4cc's in January and 2 cc's in March and have lost 51 pounds. I have always had restriction from the first placement of my band. I declined my fill last month and I and I think I will decline it this month too. My restriction is very good right now and I think i'm loosing weight at a decent pace.

I go for my first fill Thursday and I think he told me at insertion time that I would get 3cc. Guess that probably won't do much if normal restriction is around 5.

Well it's been a bit over 6 weeks since my last fill and I've lost 16 pounds as of this afternoon. I'm only on my second fill but I believe that my doctor does fills the proper way, ie using a fluoroscope.

Amazing how well the realize band can work when given a chance and used properly.

This is my exact situation.

Ask your fill person. They will know by looking in the chart. If they are doing it under flouro, and it is an AP lapband....look for the black dots on the fill port....one dot is 10cc, 2 dots would mean 14cc.

I was banded Mar. 17, 2009. I had the 3rd fill in my Realize Band yesterday. I now have 6cc's. I FINALLY feeling some restriction. My weight loss since the surgery has been much slower than I anticipated so I am hoping this makes a big difference.

I was banded June 1 and go for first fill July 6. A little nervous about first one, only because my surgeons don't do a lot of bands, mostly bypass, and they've just switched to Realize in November. The PA who usually does the fills says that the surgeons have been doing the fills on the Realize. Knowing how conservative they are, I'm sure it won't be much of a fill, 1cc if I'm lucky. But as long as I'm losing, I don't have a problem with a slower progression. If I become too frustrated at how slowly they do the fills, I will go to my daughter's doctor

Once I get past the first one, I'm sure it will all be good.

I will be going for my 3rd/4th fill next week Tuesday. I have 4.3 cc in a realize band and only fill restriction if I eat on the run in the car, too fast, and usually it is a hamburger. I hope to get more restriction and let the band take over. I am to the point of not being careful in selection of what I eat but I do usually eat only half a meal if it is a larger meal.

If it makes you feel better, my surgeon says he's never had a case where the band filled up without the person getting restriction. He's done over a thousand bands too so he has a lot of experience.

From what I've seen on LBT, once you get close, even a small amount can give major restriction.

You know, I wondered the very same thing about the band. I asked my doctor a couple of months ago, if he had ever had anyone get to their maximum fill and never get restriction and he said one. So, it seems that the odds are that it is not likely going to happen. I was a bit nervous at that thought of being a person who had fills and never had any restrictions. But, now I'm not so nervous about it anymore.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
