biggest loser - '09

Recommended Posts

I love the biggest loser! Im so glad we have a new season because some of the contestants last year made me hate the show.

I read today that the daughter from the pink team was arrested and they had to file her weight. Normally they cant talk about how much weight theyve lost.

Don't most of us do that already when we check into work each day?

Nope.

No comments yet on the latest episode?

I've never seen ol' Bob get soooooo mad.

I was also shocked at the age of the old guy (Jerry? I think) on there. I didn't realize he is just 63. My dad is 60, and Jerry looks easily 10-15 years older than him.

It was sad to see the old guy go last night when it was really Joelle that everyone wanted to vote off. Nice in a way that they kept the kid. He really needs the show.

I was crying so hard! I didn't want either one to go home. Like Jillian said - they BOTH needed to be there very badly.

But, I would have voted Jerry off as well.

I was appalled that Dan's partner at home ordered 2 hot dogs and fries!!! What was he thinking?? I know the contestents don't know that part, but I was thinking Jerry would have the support at home, but Dan wouldn't. Also, the family he was with were all fat, and they were all at a fast food place.

Makes me really think about my choices, and how people perceive me.

me too.

daniel just breaks my heart; i love when his team met him part way down the mountain to walk with him to the finish line. PMS is approaching because i had waterworks the whole show. they all want to be there.....we'll not so sure of the silver lady who was tempted w/the money. she was so lucky daniel had a 1lb penalty.

bob - WOW, he has the same potty mouth as i do:wink: my trainer actually makes me do another 5 reps of whatever when i cuss...

not sure her name but the "green" team member ..... she is so focused, she might be the one to beat. i love her attitude; actually they all (minus the one mentioned above) have a great approach to this.

**i read a blurb that eric who won 3 or 4 seasons back, he lost 200lbs has gained more than half back & was on oprah to discuss???** *guess that's why they don't do reunion shows?* i really hate hearing that!

What a show!! I'm so addicted to it that I jump up and down yelling to the point that my husband asks me to keep it down. I was SHOCKED when Joelle didn't get kicked off - talk about a lucky break. I do have a certain amount of appreciation that she didn't gloat her win. And that she said that she won over the oldest & fattest contestant, where's the excitement there? I'm glad the dark haired girl (pink team?), the one who lost six pounds, didn't get below the line. Its sad about Jerry but look what he's done since he's been back. He looks great! But the boy stays and that is a very good thing

Yep - Even I was wondering what was wrong with me, so I don't even want to know what the family was thinking.

bob - WOW,

I actually found a new respect for him last night. I loved that he was like, "shut up and do it." That should be one of their signs.

I actually didn't like her the first week - they were the ex-models sobbing about how guys don't ask for their number now that they're fat. But, I do like the green girl that's left on the ranch. Maybe I need to give them another shot.

No! I hate hearing that, too. Maybe if they did a reunion show, and announced it up front, then people wouldn't gain the weight so much? I was wondering how Vicky's doing now. She had trouble getting up early and getting home late. I would bet she's letting the exercise go a little...and I wonder if that effected her weight loss yet.

The green girl that was sobbing was the one sent home. Tara is left, and she was pretty clearly well into this game that first week, hauling rear through the challenges only to have to wait for her partner.

She'll do well. She's already playing the head game, giving away the phone call and obviously waterloading for this weigh-in to help next week.

The head game stuff I don't like, but it's smart. I guess a little bit isn't so bad, but I was really disappointed last season and am hoping for an honest group this time.

I agree with everything yall said. I don't like the Jo-elle, sad to see Jerry go home, but would have made the same decision. But dang he looked good at the follow-up, he looked 10 years younger - color me impressed.

I really like this season - way better than last.

Can't wait for next week.

Oh yes, I cried as well. Especially when they were helping orange up the mountain. I was so proud of him.

Yes, the green team memeber is kicking butt in the challenges and she weighed nearly 300 pounds...kuddos to her. But I do think she may have been up to something with the 1 pound weight loss last night.

I cried when Brown team was talking about who to eliminate and how badly orange needed to be there.

Jerrry did look good at the end..Go Jerry!

Oh, me and DH laughed so hard when Joelle (silver) said "I beat the oldest and heaviest, there's no glory in that" It just struck us funny. DH said, she was so serious when she said it.

Makes me really think about my choices, and how people perceive me.

I've been thinking about that too lately. Remember when we had that discussion about how fat people are portrayed in the movies and how none of us are like that. Well, as I get thinner and change my habits, I realize that some of those stereotypes do appear to be true. For example, I no longer am getting food all over my boobies. I bet people on the outside saw me as a big glutton who couldn't slow down eating enough to keep it all in my mouth. I didn't see myself that way, of course. But my boobies aren't full of food any more so there was some truth to how other people saw me.

**i read a blurb that eric who won 3 or 4 seasons back, he lost 200lbs has gained more than half back & was on oprah to discuss???** *guess that's why they don't do reunion shows?* i really hate hearing that!

But it's to be expected. It's why I can't quite get into the show. I keep thinking about the future.

I actually found a new respect for him last night. I loved that he was like, "shut up and do it." That should be one of their signs.

It could say "shut your gob and move your ass". Except they might have to pay Jachut royalties. :sneaky:

While I too would have voted for Jerry to go home, I was wondering WTF? Why is the youngest and heaviest dude losing the least amount of weight (green girl aside)? Does he really deserve to be there? Even whiny a$$, bad attitude Joelle did better than him.

I cried also when they had to choose between Jerry and orange(can't remember if it was Dane or David). Jerry looked so good at the end. Did you all hear when they said that they exercise 6-8 hrs a day? Even if I didn't work I don't think I could or would want to exercise those many hrs.

Jo-elle, what can I say except that I was hoping that she would get kicked off. If only her friend knew how she was slacking off (while she's at home dancing the pounds away:biggrin:) she would be pissed off.

This season seems to be off to a good start.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
