Shalee's October Overhaul

Recommended Posts

OK I went to the PS today. My wound has officially closed up completly. But it didn't leave me a tummy pretty to look at. As it took almost 4 months to completly close it stated to heal on the outside first, So I was left with a butt looking scar above my cookie. (Yeah not so pretty) OK so he and I talked about the revision, and he will be doing it for free.

He and I both agree that we want it done in a very sterile enviroment, an not his office. So he will be cutting me from the belly button down to my mons and over to the hip bones again. On the right side he will revise the scar all the way around because it too had wound issues and healed all fugly.

He will be pulling my skin in from the sides and not down on lower belly, there is a bit of pooch there. ( my scar butt) , He will also be cutting out the scar tissue that formed from my wound seperation. He will cut a little more off the top of the mons to make it smooth and no more scar tissue. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we don't have any issues this time around.

There is also 1 small pooch right below my right breast that he called a small dog ear he will fix. He said only 1 drain this time. If it weren't for my prior wound issue we would do this in his office, but better to be safe then sorry. Should take about 1 hour he said. I think we are looking at April for the revision, I will know by friday.

OK that's my little update, I will ramp up my workouts and up my Protein to get my body ready for this. I want NO problemos this time!!!

I will try and edit my pix and get them posted soon so you can see what I am talking about with the butt looking scar. :-D

Shalee (Kelly),

You look gorgeous!!!

I'm sorry I missed all of your struggles with you wound. When I checked out for a while, you were having a problem, but it wasn't all that bad at that point. I'm sorry to hear that it worsened, but very glad to hear that it's closed up now. Rest assured, the revision will do the trick for you and it will all work out just fine.

As I mentioned in my thread, having a second shot at this can be a very beneficial thing. I'm really happy with my booty revision. I like it even better than the first time around, and I'm sure it will be the same for you.

That said, you look wonderful -- and those breasts, darling, -- WOW!!! :)

DH must be very happy!!!!

I had my revision on May 5th. what was supposed to be a 1 hour surgery turned into 3.5 hours.

He was revising my Tummy Tuck from Oct that I had severe wound seperation issues with and was left with a big chuck of scar tissue from under my belly button to the top of my mons and extending along over to my right hip. We also decided to go ahead and do a small breast lift to both breast since he was going to be releasing some scar tissue in them also.

He basically gave me a whole new TT without any muscle tightning, I have a new smaller belly button and so far everything looks wonderful!!!! I have 1 drain and I was hoping to get it removed yesterday but it is still putting out more then he would like so 1 more week with this pain in the cookie drain. My breasts hurt more then anything else this time around, we dont see any wound problems and are keeping our fingers crossed we wont.

Thanks everyone for following my journey.

Congratulations Shalee! I'm glad to hear the second surgery was a success and that you are feeling well and looking fantastic.

I'll be having revisions in December (I have what I imagine is the same butt scar at my T in my scar and the Dr. will be fixing that).

OK so I am just about 1 month out from revision. tummy looks great, I am happy with it finally. Breasts well I wish I wouldn't have done the lift this time as I'm not liking the way the nipples feel, kinda like a button I guess on a couch sewed on... PS says it will get better and back to normal, I sure hope so....

This time around I have awful swelling, the first time, I didn't swell much at all, but this time, swell hell!!!!!!

OK well I am off to go buy some bikini panties at Victorias!! WOHOOOOOOOOOOO

Sorry it took so long to post, been a little emotional the past few weeks, Dr said my hormones are out of whack, Weepy crying one mimute, fine the next. this too shall pass.

And about the nips, thats what I am hoping, Dr and hubnbby tell me not to worry about it, but I do anyways. I am super excited that I now have the flat tummy I wanted. I had NO wound issues this time that I was worried about. I just have this dang swelling going on, I didnt have it the 1st time, so I wasnt prepared for it. Makes a 105 day even hotter wearing a binder or garment.. WOHOOOO fun times.

I did went shopping and replaced ALL my panties with bikini ones. somethng I have not worn since I was 17 and had my 1st child, had a fat tummy ever since. Now it's all I own!!!! Poor hubby is going to take away my victorias secret cc. if I dont stay out of that store.

I'll try and post some new pix this week.

So how have you been Karey??

It's been 1 year since my Tummy Tuck.< /p>

Even with the wound issues and the revision I had to have because of it, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
