I read through all of that and only two of them have links to any info. You can't believe everything you read on the internet.

I agree, Froggi.

Oh no, Looks like some are getting the gloves out. Let's chill a little! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Putting down the candidates is not going to change anything. But hopefully THEY will change things.

Let remember why we are really here! LAPBAND BABY!!!!!!!!!

Just because they don't have links doesn't mean they're not verifiable information. For example, I have read a myraid of discussions over Obama's voting "present" rather than taking positions when he was in the Illinois Senate.

What in the article I posted isn't true?

As a Senator, you have a couple of issues that you deal with and vote on (you can look at Obama's voting record). As a Governor, you have more authority, more responsibility, and have to make split second decisions. She is the head of the National Guard.

I agree.

Further, if you take a look at Obama's real record, he doesn't have much of a record in the way of anything. He has a great list of job titles and noticably few accomplishments.

Here's an interesting article: Israpundit

Here's another link that isn't suppose to be skewed to one party or the other but is suppose to report the truth...

Great website, well put together. Thanks for the link! I'm looking forward to pouring through those lies, truths, and half-truths as well :-)

From what I can tell - it is a fact based site and it helps with the BS that both side put out - or what one person says depending on their political view. Now a days it's hard to get an unbiased opinion any subject.

I really don't think any of us have the time to peruse either candidates voting recorders or parental lineage.. So we have to base our votes on what we get from the media - which IMHO is skewed most of the time.

If you choose to vote Republication Great - If you choose to vote Democrat Great - That's what the USA is about - to be able to vote for the person you feel will serve you best in office. It's not about putting anyone down for their beliefs. We all are entitled to our personal beliefs and it doesn't make you right or me wrong - it just means that we have a diff of opinion...

I just watched an interview on CNN with Gov. Palin....

She is going to be a very strong participant in the coming debates.

No doubt. I think everyone who's dismissing and disparaging her as a "beauty queen" and a "former journalist" and a "PTA mom" is going to be very unhappy when they watch her in action. Furthermore, in so doing all they're accomplishing is lowering expectations of her -- which will make her future success all the more dramatic.

Very true. I have often even found that some so-called "unbiased" sites are still skewed. It's important, though, not to dismiss the facts of an article simply because you don't like 1) the author, or 2) the conclusion.

Again, very true -- sadly so. I don't think most people have the time or knowledge and ability to parse the statements of politicians.

A case in point: I can't comprehend how some women that are switching over from Hillary to the McCain/Palin ticket because of Palin. It is patently incomprehensible to me, even though it's happening. I wouldn't vote for Hillary simply because of her gender; her positions matter more to me than anything else. Similarly, even though I'm Italian, I wouldn't vote for Giuliani simply because he's Italian; his positions matter more to me than anything else. Not that I'm unhappy that some women are doing this  -- I just don't get it.

If I was a republican I wouldn't vote for McCain because of his choice of VP. Not because of her gender...but because of her beliefs. She is against abortion and gay marriage, for that I wouldn't vote for them.

I am sure, since she was raised Catholic, that she is not promoting abortion, although the only thing I can find right now is that her view is if the mother's life is in danger. Obama, on the other hand supports partial birth abortions...something I cannot even fathom.

I HAD a friend that used abortion as a birth control method. Had 4. Sorry, I think we need to start with more education and access to birth control measures. IMHO, Abortion should not be used as birth control.

So on the news today I heard that Palin's 17 year old daughter is 5 months pregnant. What do you guys think of that?

I was 17, single, a junior in high school. I was scared to death and married the father of the baby. That was 23 years ago and we are even more committed to each other now than we were then . I have four wonderful children, have a four year college degree in nursing, and just found out I'm going to be a grandma as my 21 year old Army soldier son's wife is expecting.

I think it's none of my business.

Agreed...not my business.

I was 15 when I got pg - 16 when I had my son - My Father wouldn't allow me to marry (my Dad was a Republican) - Did that make my Dad a bad Dad from what I did - Nope..

Do I think it's a wise choice as a VP candidate... Don't know.. Time will tell..

Speaking to the question of Obama's "experience", I just found this website. It details the yea, nay, and "NV" (no vote) votes on all issues. This page just happens to be on housing and property issues, but pick any issue. The number of "NV" votes is astonishing. Project Vote Smart - Senator Barack Hussein Obama Jr. - Voting Record

 Well said!

A private family "scandal" (which isn't much of a scandal in today's culture) doesn't impact her ability to lead. And I sure do appreciate that, instead of like Obama, she doesn't talk about her grandchild as a "punishment".

McCain has the same NV on the issues too except the stimulus pkg

They were both out trying to get nominated as their parties presidential candidate and truely their one vote wasn't going to be a tie breaker..

Project Vote Smart - Senator John Sidney McCain III - Voting Record

Also Barack isn't going to have the same number of votes as McCain as he hasn't been in the Senate as long as McCain..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
