Crazy Skinny Goals!

Recommended Posts

Dallas/Texas people, we should totally get together when we're skinny next summer for six flags! I haven't been in a few years.... I would probably fit now I just hate the idea of trying extra hard for me to fit specifically.

Another thing I'd like to do-- My brother told me he'd take me to vegas when I turn 21, so I think I'll go at the end of next summer and get some nice dresses/outfits to wear out.

You all have great ideas! Im not quite skinny but Im gonna try my luck at Six Flags this summer. I am a HARDCORE coaster fiend.

My big Skinny Goal is learning to surf. Ive been wanting to learn my whole life and Im planning on taking a clinic next summer. So this winter I am taking classes to buck up on my regulation swimming.

Of course I want it to do it all in a bikini! May be a long shot though.

Speaking of coaster parks! All of the talk about six flags made me remember one of my absolute dreams that I gave up when I thought I would always be fat. I want to go to every serious roller-coaster park on the East Coast. Other places will follow but I have ALWAYS wanted to ride Alpinegiest at Busch Gardens and Batman Six Flag Great Adventure.

I would love to go rock climbing and jogging!

And I know this is silly, but I live near a Ann Taylor clothing store and always see the cutest outfits in the windows, so my reward to myself for reaching my goal will be to buy an outfit from there. And never go back to Lane Bryant again!!!!! EVER!!!!!

All these goals sound so wonderful! I'm with drew05 and the amusement parks!

I went to my first big amusement park (Busch Gardens) about two years ago and the one ride I really wanted to go on, I couldn't. I seriously thought I was going to cry. Made a vow to go back and ride it 300 times.

Other than that, my main goal is to buy a brand new lab coat. Dorky, ya - but I hate having so much trouble finding a perfect fit.

So far my goals are:

1. Tramp stamp (lower back tattoo)-I already have three tattoos, but there is something about a tramp stamp that just screams "skinny girl!". I've got it all planned out too.

2. Bikinni!-I've never worn one. Ok, well I did when I was like three, but that doesn't count.

3. Rock climbing-I so want to try it, but I don't feel comfortable (or safe) doing it at my current weight.

4. Hiking-I live in AZ, we've got great places to hike, but I get winded doing it now.

5. Crowd surfing!-This one is so insane and scary. I'm a mosh pit girl, but I wouldn't even think of crowd surfing at my current weight. But hey, once I'm a skinny girl, I want all kinds of strangers touching my butt!

6. Start a punk rock band-I get too out of breath to jump around on stage and scream into a microphone now. But I have big plans for later.

7. Suicide Girl/God's Girl-Yeah, its porn. I just want to try and see if I could be one, don't know if I could go through with it (or maybe I could).

8. Skinny girl in fat girl's store-Ok, you've all seen her. You go into Lane Bryant, or Torrid, or some other plus-sized store, and she's there. The skinny girl. Now she's usually in there with her friend, or sometimes wears the smallest size aviable. I don't know about everyone else, but I hate her. Ok, maybe not hate her. But damn it, she's a skinny bitch in the fat girl's store. There are pleanty of stores for skinny girls, we fat girls only have a few to choose from. I want to be her. I don't know why, and its probably a little crazy, but yeah, I want to be her.

So yeah, I have crazy goals. But hey, I like my crazy goals .

My skinny goals include..

  • The first time I can complain about having to buy a size 10 and a friend replies with a response like, "Oh shut up!"
  • Doing pin-up style pictures with a photographer friend of mine who takes gorgeous portraits.
  • Rocking this really cute Victoria's Secret Pink t-shirt that I bought last summer. It didn't fit until about a month ago and now I'm working on losing some more so I can look great in it.
  • Fitting into a pair of patchwork-detailed Levis that I want to wear this fall.
  • Running up 10 flights of stairs without being out of breath. (I'm working on this one and getting there!)
  • And maybe, someday, possibly - as I'm still debating this one - another tattoo along the side of my torso. Like I said, I'm still debating it. :tongue_smilie:

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
