I think he likes me....

I'm so excited and terrified at the same time! I went out with a guy on Saturday night...and Monday night...and last night. He's called me every day since Saturday...and we email a couple times a day. He asked me out this Saturday- he wants to go to a super nice restaurant and made reservations.

As I'm writing this, it sounds so silly that I'm so surprised...but I have dated a whole bunch of players over the last four years or so and this actually feels really weird to have a guy be doing the right things. How do you get over the feeling that you don't deserve it?

He makes me laugh, he laughs at my jokes, he kisses like a rock star, and is so cute I just can't stand it. He hasn't even gone up my shirt yet!

At my heaviest, I found it easiest to date guys from large people personals. He's the first guy that I've dated in YEARS that I didn't find on one of those sites- he's from Match.com, actually. When I've dated a guy who I know likes big girls...I don't get nervous about getting naked. I tell my friends, "Ah, he knows his way around the back fat pretty well". Well, this guy didn't put that he was looking for a bigger girl in his profile so I'm so nervous but I've discovered that he knows his way around the back fat, too...so it's killing me to know if he's dated other bigger girls. I'm trying so hard to just sit back and not over analyze everything but it's so hard!

I haven't told him about the band yet. I'm nervous about that, but he is such a nice, non judgemental guy I think it will be ok. If it isn't, then he's not the guy for me I guess. I have to tell him soon or it will drive me crazy.

So..that's my excitement. Any tips on how to not over analyze and just enjoy it all?

Megan

Megan??? Are you STILL resting?!?!?!

OMG. ;)

Okay, yeah, I'm jealous... ;)

Leatha, I'm commiserating with you... I want to have such fabulous romps that I'm THAT tired!!! LOL

He sounds wonderful, but I need to be the Devils advocate, Do you have his phone number and have called him? And do you know where he lives? So far from your posts he has called you and been to your place but not visa versa. Sorry to have to ask but a friend of mine got burnt big time by a married man, who inadvertently forget to mention to her about being married but always had an excuse regarding reasons he could not give here anything but his work # or never invited her over to his place. Oh I'm a bad house keeper, or my roommates home or whatever. Putting that aside I hope He REALLY is a nice guy. I'm married to one for 18 years not and he still makes me smile.
Started thinking the same thing--BUT than I was like naaaww, she found a goodone, a true one , a real one. At least I sure as hope you did sweetie. Make sure you have gone to his home- no matter what!! & you should be able to call him whenever you want - no matter what!! I just know hes a good guy- if not Penni & lisa & Jenna I am sure can take care of him proper.;0)

Oh my gosh I've been meaning to update everyone. Thanks for asking, Lisa.

Things are fantastic. The guy just does everything right. For example- he's totally allergic to my cats and has tried a bunch of allergy medicine and some work ok...but Monday he told me that he is going to the allergist today to see what else he can do. This really means a lot to me...and I find myself thinking that it just can't be real that this great a guy is so into me, and I'm into him, too!

We have a lot in common, and can sit and talk and talk and talk...and laugh...oh how my cheeks hurt sometimes.

I get an email from him every morning wishing me a good morning. He usually calls me at lunch to check in, and if we aren't doing something in the evening, I usually get an email saying goodnight.

I love that one of you brought up the whole "have you seen his house, etc" issue. That's what true girlfriends do for each other- a little reality is good for a girl.

That comment really made me think, and so I asked him if I was ever going to see his house. So, we have a date Thursday to go to a movie and then I'm going to go over to his house and meet his roomates. I asked him if they might make fun of him for dating a bigger girl (some guys friends are real pigs!) and he said, "heck no, they'll probably want your phone number".

I feel very safe with him...every time I've had a concern he's been open to it and honest in his reply. I was worried that he was still looking on match.com (can you tell I worry a lot?????) and so I wrote him an email and asked him. I said that I had noticed that he was still active on match.com, and that I had gotten a few emails but hadn't done anything about it. But I was wondering if he was still looking? And he wrote back. "I've gotten a few emails myself but haven't done anything about them either and my membership is up at the end of this month and I won't be renewing it".

I've found that my past relationships have made me a little more cynical than I thought. I keep looking for a lie or a manipulation but so far he's totally clean. It's amazing that a crappy, bad relationship with a two-timing loser feels more normal to me than this one does at the moment. I know what to do with a guy that plays around..I don't know what to do with one who shows me respect, kindness, and unselfishness. Isn't that just sad? I'm learning though...and I have to say I will never accept that kind of bullshit ever again.

So anyway...that's my update. Anyone want to know more details...I'm an open book :-)

Megan

He sounds great! I was holding my breathe hoping not to read, "he hasn't called me." YEAH! As far as the cats, that could be a problem. So since he's going out of his way to deal with his allergies, you should do some extra work, too. Do you have one room at your place that you can cat-proof? I try to keep my front room cat-free since I have so many allergic friends. It's a tile floor, and I keep the door closed. Also, vacuume kitties often. My cat LOVES to have his fur sucked up thru the suction hose.

One day at a time. It's all about expectations. Enjoy what you have, and don't worry about the small stuff. His roommates will love ya!

Fantastic Megan, Good ones are hard to come by but they are out there. I know I got one for 18 yrs now. Keep us posted, again I'm really glad you found someone who makes you smile ;-)

girl, I was just wondering about you! Thank you for the update. I bet you had NO idea how interested us in LBT land would be in your love story!

ok, we need pics...

I'm so so happy for you, I hope everything works out and you live happily ever after and ride into the sunset, so are we all going to be your bridesmaids??? What a bunch of good looking ones we would be. I am truly happy for you. Boy I love hearing about new, love hot steamy romances.

Megan I can just hear the glee in your voice (in your fingers?)! I'm so happy for you!! :):D :D

I went through that not-believing-he's-for-real thing when I first started dating my DH. Being in a lousy relationship really does a number on us, doesn't it? But with time and his attention you'll believe you deserve it, and that's the road to a good solid relationship. Yaaahooo!!!! :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana
