    Art work and their artists

Thank you. Yes I taught myself. I got Photoshop and jumped right in. Recently I've also gotten into Illustrator. Can't wait to see more of your work! This is my first creation in Illustrator, from a picture I drew a few years ago.

    New Surgical Center in Hurst

Just thought I'd let anyone looking for a place to be banded know there is a new Specialty Surgical Center of Fort Worth in Hurst off of Precinct Line Rd. Dr. Carter does his bands and fills there now. I heard it advertised on the radio this morning. I went there on Monday for a fill as well. Very nice place. More info here http://www.carterlapband.com/ Dr. Carter is great!!!!

    Summer Weightloss Challenge

I would like to join if it's not too late. I know that I weighed 375 on Monday June 27 because I went to get another fill because my 2nd fill didn't really do the trick. Only problem was my blood pressure was too high so I couldn't get the fill until today. So my starting weight as of June 27 is 375, but as of today the scale at the Surgical Center said 356 so that is my current weight Yep 19 pounds in a week and a half! And 70 pounds so far(ignore my ticker. I haven't had time to update it!) After floating around the 376 area for about a month and a half I started back on a eating program that I did before being banded called Natural Hormonal Enhancement(www.extique.com) It's a really great program! If anyone wants to know about it just ask me. Here are some pics I took tonight. My before pics can be found here http://lapbandtalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1192&stc=1

    Carbonation

I haven't had a soda since Feb 24, 2005. I still eat stuff I'm not suppose to but I don't rave sodas. I did try to drink a Rock Star energy drink, not thinking about the carbonation and after I took a big sip it hit me that it was carbonated and my stomach felt terrible. So I try to stay away from carbonated beverages, and i have no problems with burping either!

    New Surgical Center in Hurst

I go for a fill today. I had my second fill on June 14 but I don't feel any restriction so I asked Dr. Carter for another fill and he set up the appointment for me at the Surgical Center. I actually went last Monday to get the fill but they wouldn't let me because my blood pressure was way high! 169/110. They said with the swelling I could possible PB and have a stroke. I was disappointed because I really wanted the fill but after thinking about it I am glad they were looking out for my health and not my money! So I scheduled a Dr. appointment for the next day and got some BP medicine and my wife(who is an LVN) took my BP yesterday and it was 113/70! So even though they didn't give me a fill, they helped me get my health in order.

    Tornado's all around us

I was praying yesterday as well! My wife got caught in the hail storm and was right next to the Parks Mall in Arlington so she drove to the mall parking garage(with the rest of Arlington) and waited till it passed. The tornado set down not to far away. Now I don't believe tornados to be a laughing manner but every time I hear about one on the news I always think about being told to go into the bathroom, get in the tub and cover yourself with a matress. I always thought that sounded like a good idea until I got older and realized I couldn't fit a matress into my bathroom. How big are these people's bathrooms, or just how small are their beds?

    i dont think its working

The most used term on this board I think is "Everyone's different" That is the truth! I am like you, I have had no complications. I can eat or drink anything I want(well I haven't tried sodas but I don't want to!) I was eating mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes from Boston Market on day 3 and solids followed soon after because I had no discomfort eating. I don't endorse my method to anyone but myself, "Everyone's different" Do what works for you. How has it worked for me? Well, today is my 2 month Band anniversary and I've lost 57 pounds! 13 since my first fill on April 14. I don't know if this helps.

    Pics of me

I love boxers too(not a come on!) I just picked up a flashy fawn from the Arlington Animal Shelter. He's about a year old. He didn't have a name so I named him Jet after the Dallas Mavericks Jason"Jet"Terry. He's adapted very well. Great pictures!

Reality check & average weight losses....

Another thing to think ask yourself, Are you losing more weight now then you did before the band? That helps me out a lot! Even if it is just .844 pounds a week Atleast you know it's coming off.

    Finally Getting My Band Tomorrow!!!!

You are very welcome. A few days after my surgery I created this in Photoshop and have it as my desktop. That is a very powerful verse for me. Feel free to us it if you like.

    Finally Getting My Band Tomorrow!!!!

My pastor came and prayed with me before my surgery and he said this verse that has stuck with me So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand ISAIAH 41:10 Good luck tomorrow!

    Surgery Tomorrow 3/18...Yikes!

Best of luck tomorrow! Tomorrow is my 3 week anniversary of my band and i am still excited about it! Let us know how it goes. If you can do it, a few hours after recovery, call someone and leave them a voicemail. I called my wife and left her a voicemail I don't even remember and it's the funniest thing! I sound like a perv at first breathing into the phone "haaaahaaaahaaa...Well it's over, there's a lot of pain but it's done...haaahaaahaaaaa"

    Burping & Farting

The day after my surgery my wife, step son and nurse were in my room and I burped. My step son(4 years old) said I wasn't suppose to burp and the nurse said they want me to fart instead. He thought that was the funniest thing ever. Now whenever I burp he says "You're not suppose to burp, the doctor said you're suppose to fart!" and laughs and laughs

    D/FW Area

As you'll find out on this board, everyone is different...I had my surgery on a Friday and I returned to work on the following Tuesday. I could have gone in on Monday if I'd wanted to but I knew I had the day off so I took it. Good luck and let us know how everything goes!

    Is this really real?

First, great job! I was wondering the same thing because I was banded on Feb 25, 2005(pre op weight 425) and on March 8th I got on a scale and I was already down to 395. I feel great and I am fitting back into my "skinny clothes" again. My wedding band is even loose. I know a lot of it is water weight but I am just happy it's gone and look forward to even better results. Historically though I have always been good at losing weight pretty fast but the problem has always been keeping it off. My mother is 5'7" and skinny as a rail, maybe I have my mother's metabolism and it's finally kicking in
  25. Just before pics for now. Taken at my Wife's Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary Feb 5 2005, 20 days before my surgery. http://lapbandtalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1192&stc=1
