Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Had my LAP BAND done on 11-26-2007 in Buffalo, NY at Buffalo General Hospital by Dr. Aaron Hoffman. I've have had no problems what-so-ever and the support from Dr. Hoffman has been FANTASTIC. He is the BEST doctor ever! I would recommend anybody from the Buffalo, Rochester, NY area to have Dr. Hoffman perform the BAND! GREAT DOC!

Hello Everyone!!

So today I got up at 5:30am....(YUCK) and headed to Rochester for my 3 hour nutrition class... really didnt learn too much I didnt already know. A few good things but nothing outstanding as I had hoped. Asked a few questions... My hubby went with me. I think it made him more worried than he was before but I was able to re aasure him that everything will be okay.

I then had to have MORE blood work done, EKG, Chest Xray, and Urine analisis.

I wont lie im kinda tired of being poked and pinched and proded and put under the mirco scope but in the same respect I understand its all necessary and I'd much rather be safe than sorry.

All in all this has been a really ''quick'' process for me. I started Feb 10th and I have surgery 06/28.

I was down another 12 pounds since my last visit (13 days ago) so I wont lie... I treated myself with pizza for dinner tonight...feeling a little guilty...but not too worried.

Val we will be in surgery on the same day!!!

I hope yours goes well and easy and quick and perfect for you and that you are home safe and sound and on your way back to comfy as soon as possible!! I will keep you in my thoughts as the anisteziologist puts me under too HEHE.

Hope you all had a wonderful day.. just thought i'd post my days events!:)

It's difficult. I'm trying to get back focused.

I went to the Greek Festival and had some lamb, I loved it but my gallbladder did'nt...it messed with me for like 3 days. I might have to have it removed. Another setback:mad:

Having my Gallbladder removed was the 2nd best thing I ever did, the bloat and pain went away instantly!
everyone is welcome to come...the more the merrier
I so wish I could come, I am still a little tapped right now to be traveling.
Hi Jen,

Congrats on your "inbetweenguy"!

Thank you, I know not long term but I'm very happy and know how I should be treated

Do you use a portable DVD player near the pool for the Water Aerobics cd? CD player, anyone want a copy? I'll burn some if anyone is interested

I must not be "growed-up" yet, went to the bar Sat night and had a good time burning them calories. I was dancing with three guys at once! lol ...don't know how that happened??? One minute I was dancing by myself ..the next, they had me surrounded ...I was scurrred lol! It was good time.

GO YOU! I do have to say, anyone who can remember, until I went to work I was out with the bad boys and going to the bar every night until 2-3 am. I' never knew that I could be treated so well.
Oh yeah and holly crab.. LOL

I'm now in the 200's hit another milestone - So now I'm just about half way to my goal of losing 240 + lbs...... Yipee!!

Congrats! My original goal by the"typical weight loss" and going above and beyone was 195 - I'm now at 173 and will be at 150 by the end of summer. You can reach your goals! Trust me, took 3 years but i had some pretty long plateaus... you can do it

Vicki

Do you feel any different having the sleeve? Was recovery more painful or about the same?

Are you on liquids and if so, how long?

it is a little bit more painful, not alot more. the band was def easier, but im feeling a little bit better today. i did go for a walk today

Hi everyone. I saw Dr Hoffman on Tues and my blood pressure was rather low 88 over 66 , but I don't think anyone told Dr Hoffman, I should have but I was so out of it. After my visit I went home I still wasn't feeling right so I called my PCP and I went to the emergency room and stayed overnight for dehydration. It happened so fast has anyone else felt this way.:)

I am back! Val im glad your home and doing better! Sorry to hear you had that set back!! Man after Surgery on Monday I felt AWEFUL! Gas bubbles and pain and nausia and dizzyness. EWWWWW it was icky. Todays been the first day that has given me confidence that I will return to normal! Im still not 100% but im sooo much better! Added Carnation Sugar Free instant breakfast to my liquid diet per my docs. instruction and its helped alot!!

Be sure to be sipping your water all day long even if your not thrusty hun gotta stay hydrated!!!!

wow val, i think im jelouse, they say the sleeve is easier and u will lose weight faster. why couldn't he do the band? How do u feel about getting the sleeve, you must have talked to the hoff before surgery in order for him to go ahead with it, did he feel it might be a problem. Hope u feel better soon.:tt1:

i know anny it is hard but i keep at it. i never get the gas bubbles or the shoulder pain you get with laparscopic surgery. its a little harder this round, maybe cuz im 2 yrs older...lol

yeah we talked about it. he told me with the scar tissue that sometimes it is hard to move the band. i always knew the sleeve was a possibility but i was hoping to have the band. i guess i was lucky it was approved, the are just starting to approve it in buffalo

hey everyone i think i should postpone our lapband picnic. its a busy weekend for everyone. why dont we plan for august maybe or in sept after labor day? what does everyone think?

Hello all

Val - glad you are recovering. Can't wait to see your results with the sleeve. If you do a picnic later on the summer or after Labor Day i would love to come meet you all!

Vicki - hey there, miss chatting with you. I'm around all weekend - touch base if you have time!

I'm going to get get my eye's measured today for contact lenses, I love my glasses but I can't wear them at work and I can't really see. Other than that I'm going to lay in the sun and do my new water aerobic cd I got all weekend to get use to is so I don't have excuses to do it a couple nights a week after work.

My sister lost a ton of weight I think she was 250 and is down to 138. She did it in a year and all on her own. She eats a lot and is home so can work out and stay on a schedule. She is also loaded and can afford the food she eats. (I did do better when I was not working too.) But because she is loaded, she is having a full tummy tuck and arms done. It is all happening so fast, she just had appointment and is scheduled for July 14. I am happy for her but so jealous and sad at the same time. I just want my apron removed, I don't even want a full tt but just no means to do it or no time. Maybe in the spring I'll set money aside for it. I just can't get over meeting someone new who wouldn't be grossed out over that hanging skin.

oh well

I hope you are all having a great weekend
