Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Bugs, don't do anything without being told by the doctor. Don't worry you will have time to have things done before surgery. All the cortisol test involves is picking up a container one day, using it for 24 hours, and taking it back the next day. You will receive a script for any test needed.

Oh, sorry Bugs, I thought you said you already had a script for the cortisol test. My mistake. You cant have it done without the script from the clinic anyway, but you do have to have it before surgery.

I hvae the script I just haven't has the time to go and pick the container for the test. I'm glad I don't have to rush to do the test. I will have it done as soon as I can.

I went to the sleep Center and he did turn down my pressure and I am going to take another machine home for a week to be retitrated. I took my machine to the hospital and used it to sleep cause I am so used to it plus I figured the humming would drown out some of the hospital noise. They asked if I had it but I could have shown them an empty case for all they knew!

its funny that you mention it may drown out the noise. I used mine constantly in the hospital because my roommate snored so loud I thought i was losing my mind...It really helped.

OK guys, I haven't had any communication on the this web-site for about 2 weeks.. Don't know why !! I just thought that no-one was talking..

At the last meeting, Barb said that everyone is different. some need only 1 fill to get going and others need 3 or 4. Well, I guess I am one of the others !

So, I just had my 3rd fill on Monday morning and I just now feel restriction -- real restriction !! Its ok..not uncomfortable but I thought I didn't eat much before ?? I eat half as much now.. Now I know why they say to eat the good stuff first like Protein. I think I am down a couple of lbs since monday and I am not complaining at all !! Now maybe its going to start to work for me.. I was getting so discouraged.. Not loosing anything since probably x-mas and exercising like a fool !!

Hey NBflo Girl,

This thread has been quiet lately. I'm glad you finally got your restriction...the lbs should really start coming off now! Just make sure you chew..chew...chew some more.

I had a horrible stuck experience this past sunday on some beef brisket! I tried downward dog position, arm windmills and finally had to wretch it up ..it didnt come up though it finally went down. The next couple days my stomach was very tight so I had to go on fluids for a couple days and went in for a slight unfill, but after speaking with the Dr, I decided to wait and see how food goes down now (since i'm a sipper). I like to sip Water with my food to help it go down. I was told not to even sip even a little water with my meals...we'll see how this works out.

BUGS, if this is the first visit to see the doc, isn't this the one that you need to bring your support person ? and be sure you bring your diet logs, they get really PO'd if you don't. Although, I had Posner, I have a feeling he is alot stricter than Hoffman..Other than that, if there is any medical info you need to acquire, they will tell you for the next visit.

Good Luck

Hey kids!!!

I too, haven't been getting notifications of activity, hence me not being around much!!!

I've had a rough go of things since my last appt. in November. I was told I was being laid off as of June which though a good thing it wasn't immediate, it was still a shocker. Finding jobs in education right now isn't good. But, I'm applying to Clarence, Ken-Ton, and Akron so I'm hoping for good results!

BigGurl: I too had my first PB this past week. I was stuck for a good 5 minutes before I finally just got it the heck outta there. It was bologna and swiss cheese. I think it was really the bologna, though. My body did not want it in there. Interesting experience to say the least. I mean, I've gotten things stuck all the time but this was special! Not!

I had to cancel my January appt. because they had called me to move it and never called me back. Phone tag kills that place. Then finally I got a February appt. that I had to move. So now I am here today, off of work, to go in at 9:30! :) I know I haven't lost much, and I've been exercising and eating right, I just need more restriction. I can eat about 1 1/2 c. of food! That's just insane!!! I just hope I didn't gain weight but you know what, if I did, that's what restriction is for.

So Bugs--maybe I'll see you this morning!

I hate being nervous!

China--I have good restriction in the morning as well, I can barely drink.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
