Hang in there Brigette! The liquid and mushie weeks can really drag.

How is everyone coping with the SNOW? We just shoveled the drive and will have to do another pass later today. No snow plows in sight. I can't wait for spring!

Hi Jess30, I am so excited about my band and I am to the point now that I can exercise again. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days for me to get out of the house but on the 26st I am having my first fill so maybe I could eat Soup the next day. How long have you been banded?

I am now a bander

:)! Thank you all for the encouraging words while I was going through the process :waytogo:.

I was banded yesterday at 1:30PM. MY INCISIONS ARE SORE  (when I sit down, lay down, move in a different way) but I feel alright. I know that this too will pass in time.

Last night, in between my naps (I beleive I would sleep around 20-30 minutes and wake up)- I was walking . Since I have been at home the weather did not permit me to walk this evening . If the weather is bad tomorrow, I will go to the Y in Englewood to walk.

How long did you all soreness last? The first two weeks of liquids... what did you all discover that works- what do you all find out that did not agree with you? Please give pointers! Did you all ice the soreness or did it go away on its own?

Penny

Banded 3/13/08

(my initial weight lost was during the pre-surgery diet phase).

Penny,

I just now saw your thread. I hope your doing well. It took me about a good two weeks to start feeling really good again. My throat hurt probably worse than anything else....Even worse than the incisions. I didn't do ice but I took a warm sheet and had hubby put it in the dryer and put it over my stomach and I took the pain meds....I didn't take them as long as I was supposed to but I had to take care of my children too. Well I hope your doing well. I just got done with finals and I am just flat exhausted. I feel so drained that I could sleep.I have try to do some spring cleaning this week! Looking forward to sunnier days!!

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Seems like things have been pretty quiet on here lately. Hope all is doing well. Penny....how are you recovering? Hope things are back on track for you and that the soreness is gone or at least almost gone.

I am telling on myself, I have not been following my program :tt1:. The first week was good. I followed the liquid food schedule and I only had discomfort for 3-4 days (laying down, getting up, changing positions, etc).

The next two weeks... I was bad . My father took a turn for the worst and I was in the nursing home with him almost 24/7 . I did get in my Vitamins, Water, and 1/2 my portioned Protein per day (I make a drink out of the whey powder and water). I did eat regular food- but did not do emotionally eating . I did not gain any weight- but I did not lose any either :confused2:.

My father passed away last week and we celebrated his homegoing yesterday. I did call my Doctor's office on Monday and I told on myself . Starting today, I will return to the full liquid stage until my fill on 4/8 :).

Interesting, I could only eat half the meal, I did not have any discomfort, and most of all... I did not gain any weight .

Penny-

I am so sorry to hear about your father. My dad passed away in December this past year, so I can understand what your going through. My prayers are with you! I am glad your going back to your schedule. I hope you continue to very well!

I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy getting back to school and starting my clinical groups. It has been very interesting. I am learning and seeing lots of things. I have been really blessed to meet some of the people that I have! I am enjoying everyday, however I am not getting the exercise I should. I just walked this week, I have three days under my belt. Hope to hit the gym tomorrow! I hope all of you are doing well with lots of continued success! Take Care everyone!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
