Back from ER. I was concerned bc I had a very right red eye and two swollen ankles and my blood pressure at ER was in the 200’s. I have never had that high. Had ultrasound on both legs and labs, along with chest X-ray. They determined I’m retaining fluids. Thank God no blood clots! Suggested I could wear compression stockings and for me to rest and elevate legs. Gave me a diuretic for 3 days to reduce swelling. The awful looking red eye was not so urgent to them. They said it would go away on its own. Thanks for prayers and positive energy. Have to admit it was scary for a bit.

Oh gosh. I'm glad you're ok. Take it easy please 🙏🏾🥺

Home made chicken broth

Jello, pudding, Powerade, Popsicles, Protein Shakes that's it I almost ate watermelon but I know that's a no no

Yes don't do that. I'm four days post op and have come to the realization that my hunger is in my head. I'm not hungry, but my good old Instagram feed full of goodies got me depressed 😔. Drink more fluids, Jello, popsicles. Occupy your time away from food. You'll do fine. I'm rooting for you.

Praying that you don't have to listen to no one eat or smell them cooking, just hang in there

Carla,

I was going to ask are they eating around you. How rudeeeee lol. Make sure you're getting enough out the Protein Shakes. 60-90 grams is what my doc said. That three or 4. You freaking got this. If need be.. leave the room. Or asks them too. My partner ate in the bedroom last night. You got this!!!!

So I found this and I absolutely love it however I just realized the saturated fat is at a 5% but total fat is at a 2% and carbs at 0% sooooo is this allowed or banned from the 2 week liquid diet, surgery is Tuesday and I’m afraid because I had it two days ago and a generous amount in my Decaf coffee

What is it? Try sticking to Only the list the Dr gave. The reason there are restrictions is to help shrink your liver, so it won't be in the way during surgery. I stuck to it and still have hepatomegaly (enlarged liver) not on the list. DON'T DO IT!!!!

Well that’s why I’m asking my list was vague said as long as total fats and carbs were below 5 % it was ok to have however idk about Saturated fats, it’s a zero sugar Starbucks coffee creamer. Sorry about your liver, your dr operated even with it being enlarged?

Right! I’ve been drinking in the one ounce cups, logging my pain meds, breathing in the machine apparatus they give, walking around the house. Whew!! I’m tired, but so happy I’m in this process for my health.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
