la.nena, I totally get that. I'm pretty much the same. I want to succeed so badly. As long as we do all the right things we should all succeed in our goals.

I’m having mine May 11th. I’m not scared of the surgery it’s self. I’m worried about the after.

I feel the same way. All the unknowns are pretty worrisome. I'm trying to approach it one day and one phase at a time. I'm sure we'll get the hang of it.

Mine is a 10-day liquid diet…basically 3 shakes a day, SF Jello or popsicles, reduced sodium broth, and all the Water I want. 😂 I’m jealous of those of you that get to have food that you chew during your pre-op. But I’m thankful it’s only 10 days!

I literally just said this to someone the other day—good to have this support system! What are you most afraid of?

I think what I most worried about is the keeping track and reminders to take stuff and when to take it. I have 5 kids and work for the school district at a high school. I stay busy. I’m getting this surgery because I have an autoimmune disease and they made it a medical necessity. I’m currently 260 and 5’4.

The Baritastic app is a great way to keep track AND you can set up reminders. I'm using it for my pre-op diet now.

Congrats to all that have met your goals and received date for surgery. I finally obtained surgery on April 11 2023 after a 5 year struggle. I have to say the surgery is not as bad as I thought it would be as far as pain. I chose the Sleeve and the procedure took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. My pain was never over a 3 and I felt great right afterwards. I was able to walk over a mile in the hallway the night of surgery. That is one thing I will suggest to all getting the surgery. Get up and walk as often as you can after surgery. It really has made my recovery so much easier Once I went home I was walking 3 to 4 miles a day with no issues. I wish you all luck and great overall health improvement in your journey.

Thank you for popping in on us! The unknowns can be daunting. Exercise is something I'll really need to commit to. I'm sure it will get easier as the weight drops. Continued good luck to you on your journey!

Hello everyone!

I will be starting my pre-op diet next week and since getting my surgery date I feel like I can't stop eating. Did anyone else go through this or is going through this now? I have already cut the sodas and my beloved Starbucks, but I feel like I am compensating with eating more.

A few of us are on pre op diet now. How's it going?

My surgeon has me on it for 28 days, I'm on Day 12 now. It's going fine, I'm not craving anything and my meals are filling. I just miss having variety of food so I'm looking forward to having that back.

My plan consists of 3 replacement meals a day, and 2 cups of vegetables wth 2 of my meals. I'm having Soups and bars mostly, sometimes a Optifast dessert. I don't do shakes.

If you're shakes only stay strong, it's only temporary. We all got this, were all so close now!

I started the pre-op diet on Friday and it's going better than I expected. My doctor requires three Protein Shakes and one from a selection of meals, like 3oz chicken and one cup of veggies, Bistro salad, or Healthy Choice Cafe steamers meal, for example. 800 calories total per day. At my weight, I am expected to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. Fingers crossed!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
