Hey, May buddies. I just wanted to say that the pre-op diet is rough. If you can, start reducing your caffeine intake now (if you can still have caffeine pre and post op, lucky). I didn't reduce my caffeine and went cold turkey... BIG mistake. Also, variety in protien drinks is recommended. Im day four and can barely stomach my shakes. Good luck to you all.

May 2nd here.

On day 4 of Optifast and Water and having a really hard time stomaching it because of the metallic taste in my mouth after I drink it.

Not really having the "hunger" feelings like days 1-3 but do have an "empty" feeling. Hard to explain.

10 pounds down and the only place I can tell is in my fingers... HaHa

A few of us are on pre op diet now. How's it going?

My surgeon has me on it for 28 days, I'm on Day 12 now. It's going fine, I'm not craving anything and my meals are filling. I just miss having variety of food so I'm looking forward to having that back.

My plan consists of 3 replacement meals a day, and 2 cups of vegetables wth 2 of my meals. I'm having Soups and bars mostly, sometimes a Optifast dessert. I don't do shakes.

If you're shakes only stay strong, it's only temporary. We all got this, were all so close now!

Mine is May 1st too! My preop diet is 14 days. It's been a rough first week.

Yes. Preop is rough. Mine is 14 days. So I'm 7 days into it. The headaches are getting better, finally. I'm so over the shakes. I have 2 per day and 3 oz lean Protein, a cup of veggies, and small amount of whole grain Pasta or brown rice for dinner. I can also have a snack of cottage cheese, fruit, or yogurt. Yes, I miss variety too. But, like you said, this is temporary.

I’m on shakes only and “clear” sugar-free liquids. It hasn’t been as bad as I thought as far as hunger, but oh my lord Day 3 was horrible. Caffeine withdrawal Migraine for 3 days and fatigue. Finally getting over that bump.
Good luck, everyone!!

Lindsay your preop diet looks good and quite reasonable, I'd love some Protein

LittleRouxenyhood, good luck on your liquid diet! I think liquid only would be hard, but it's only temporary thankfully.

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.
Consumer Trends and Preferences: Evolving consumer trends and preferences are playing a significant role in driving the alternative sweeteners market. The growing demand for clean-label products, which are healthier and free from artificial ingredients, is offering a favorable market outlook. Consumers are increasingly seeking natural and plant-based sweeteners, aligning with broader trends toward plant-based diets and veganism. Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness. Food and beverage companies are responding to these trends by innovating and expanding their product lines to include options sweetened with alternative sweeteners, thereby catering to changing tastes and health concerns of modern consumers.

Various regulatory bodies are approving alternative sweeteners for use, ensuring their safety and efficacy. These approvals provide food and beverage manufacturers with the confidence to incorporate alternative sweeteners into their products. Additionally, initiatives like sugar taxes in several countries are pushing companies to seek healthier alternatives to traditional sugar.
