These are awesome! Made them for a party a while ago..if you want to impress your guests Make these! So easy too

The original recipe:

1 pkg frozen home-style meatballs

2 bottles of Heinz chili sauce

1 jar grape jelly (small or large- the large makes it a little sweeter)

Cook in crock-pot on low for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.

I tweaked it a little. To make it healthier, use ground turkey or chicken and make homemade meatballs. I also use a small jar of LOW SUGAR grape jelly. This is really easy and really tasty.

I also thought about using Jenni-O turkey Breakfast sausage links by cutting them into bite-size pieces, instead of meatballs. If I try it, I'll let you know how it is. Jenni-O turkey is what they use on the Biggest Loser, it's supposed to be really healthy.

My hubby and I make pot roast all the time. It's soooo easy! It also makes the meat more tender so you can eat beef easier. Put a roast in (any size), add potatoes and baby carrots (or whatever veggies you like), 1 can of cream of mushroom Soup (I use the low fat/low sodium), 1 packet of onion Soup mix. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. Makes great leftovers too!

I also tried a DELICIOUS beef stew last week...but I have to find the recipe. I make a ton of it and froze it so we have quick meals ready to go. :)

Got this from Allrecipes. Simple, natural igredients and the meat is so tender it goes through the band with no problem.

:)

Pot Roast Burgundy

Ingredients:

· 1 sirloin tip roast, about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds

· 3 cups red wine

· 2 tablespoons butter

· 2 carrots

· 2 ribs celery

· 1 large onion

· 1 clove garlic

· 4 medium red potatoes, cut into 1” chunks

· 3 tablespoons flour blended with 2 tablespoons butter

· salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

In a large bowl cover roast with red wine. Let soak for at least an hour or more, refrigerated. Cut carrots, celery, onion, and garlic in chunks and process in the food processor to a coarse-chopped consistency. Heat butter in a large skillet and add chopped vegetables. Sauté until lightly browned.

Place roast in the Crock Pot. Cover with the sautéed vegetables. Add potatoes. Pour wine into the hot sauté pan and bring to a boil. Let boil for 5 mins. Pour over the beef and vegetables. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. 30 to 45 minutes before done, whisk flour-butter mixture in to thicken.

Serves 4 to 6.

I love my crock pot, I'm at work, so these are a couple of recipes off the top of my head but I've made them before and they are amazing. The crock pot is great for lap banders because it will tenderize any cut of meat to make it more lap-band friendly!

Bachelor Roast:

1 cut of any type of meat (if using chicken use 4 breasts)

1 can cola

1 bottle ketchup

put meat in bottom of crock pot pour coke and ketchup on top cover crock pot and cook for 8 hours on low

pepporcini roast

any type of roast

1 jar of pepperocini

place roast in crock pot pour pepperocinis on top with juice, cover and cook for 8 hours on low

when I make both of these I'll take out the meat, shred them with forks and serve them that way!

Tried the Buffalo chicken Soup and my husband loved it. I used non-fat powdered milk instead of fresh milk and it was still good. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

2 (15 oz.) cans diced tomatoes with green chilies, mild

1 & 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder

1 tsp. ground cumin

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

For the Chili I put in 1 can of Kidney and 1 can of Pinto Beans...

I am thinking of mixing in black Beans to give that a whirl.

Helpful hint I dice up celery in small pieces and cook that in with chili. It helps with the problem of gas that happens when you eat the beans. My dad taught me that trick, and it will help in whatever you make and when it is cooked you cannot really taste it. I have never been a fan of celery so for me to use it, you must not be able to taste it.

We put celery in our Protein shakes along with kale and ginger.

Also, give Bison meat a try if you like Hamburger. It has a better nutrition value, it tastes really really good and it is more tender than beef.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
