  6. Thanks for posting, thoward. I wish you the best of everything and I hope to find the same resolve you have. Please keep posting back here. I'd like to follow along and MAYBE find some inspiration.
  7. Julie, congrats!! Please share some of your food choices. What type of food plan, if any, did you follow? Did you get to support groups? I think that's the best tool we can use.

  10. So, do we ever get together in real life?? Any central location? I'm in central Jersey.
  11. God bless you and your family. Remember to focus on one thing at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself if you can help it. All the best.
  12. Boy oh boy do I know how you feel!! My best answer is an expression I learned in OA, "if you want to win hang out with winners". I am trying to make one meeting a week. I am also trying to have one or two days worth of meal plans ready at all times. Good luck with this. I've lost 60 and regained 40. I'm struggling now but thank God I am moving forward.
  13. Hi, from Somerset!! Hope everyone is doing well. I had a real good run for 5 weeks then dropped the ball this weekend. However, I am back on track and hopeful that, one day at a time, my resolve will reappear and stay with me for a loooong time. I have an appt with my dr. in September for lab work and to schedule a fill!! Best to all!!
  14. I'm from Somerset and was banded 10/08. Lost 60 lbs. and gained 40 lb back .... Starting back to support groups and getting my head around a low carb food program. I have meetings the 2nd and 3rd weeks of the month. Looking for something the 1st and 4th weeks of the month. Any chance we are going to have a meet up? I'm interested.
  15. Is this meeting still active? When is the next meeting?
  16. Have you tried Lane Bryant's? I had luck there. I'm 5'4'' and 256 lb. Good luck. I know what you're going through. You will succeed. This is just one of those painful steps we take on the road to recovery.
  17. Hi, anyone know how i can make the shake supper thick? I'd like to feel full after i drink it.
  18. Anyone here have a recipe for a REAL THICK high protein shake? I purchased the PB2 and it tastes good with milk and unflavored protein powder, but it's not THICK. I'd LOVE something like a milk shake. Any ideas?

  21. I lost 60 lbs. and then gained 55 back. I know this form is for success stories, but I finally got some of my motivation back! I hope it stays. Continued good luck to us all.
  22. I haven't read all the posts yet, but I had to put in my 2 cents. The band has NEVER taken away my hunger, or appetite. I thought it would. What it has done is make me feel full sooner thereby cutting down how much food I eat at each meal. I still get hungry when it's not time to eat. My appetite is still very strong. What I need to do is put in place a food program where I eat the right things. That's why I'm here. For help, support, and ideas on eating and getting through the rough times.
  23. I did the liquid diet for 3 days prior to my surgery. I was very hungry and tired because of it. But, that's what you do.
