So I was looking at broths for my liquid phase and I saw - Campbell's Well Yes! Sipping Soup, Sweet Corn & Roasted Poblano, 11.1 Oz Cup. I looked it up and it's not chunky but it does seem pretty thick. Wondering if its too thick and I should count it more towards the pureed stage. I can have strained cream Soups but they want me to limit the carbs pre-op so I don't thinkI can do it pre-op because its pretty high. It looks so yummy though, I just don't know what stage it fits into lol.

I just bought some Soup mixes from Keto Chow, haven't tried them though. They're high Protein and low carb and despite the name, the dry mix is low fat as well.

Thinning it down might help make it so I can eat it post-op since they aren't as worried about the carbs after. So I will definitely try that.

I love Keto chow, or at least I did when I was doing the keto diet a few years back. I only tried the shakes though. I might have to look into those Soups, ty!

Welcome! Have you started making any lifestyle changes yet?

Thanks for the welcome! I have made some changes. I have really changed portion sizes and snacking habits. The biggest changes are just trying to be more mindful of food choices, eating slower and chewing food longer.

Yep, me too, especially that last one. That's going to be so hard for me!

I’m also September 🥰😩😊 mixed motions

I pretty much have all the feels right now, but mostly I'm just anxious to get the surgery done and move on!

I think I'm trying to deal with my anxiety by planning as much as possible. Thanks to loli_lotus I now have several really yummy sounding Keto shakes as well :) I now probably have way more than I need for this liquid phase, but I can't predict how I'll feel after surgery so its hard to stop collecting everything that may or may not work. If only I was one of those people who could turn to exercise to deal with anxiety, but no, I still am struggling to even get into a routine.

I hear you there!

If I could provide one piece of advice it would be this: We have to start where we are. Forget about all the guidelines like "you must get x amount of cardio per day". While we all want and need to get to that level, some of us just can't do that right now. As long as this week I do a little more than last week, and next week I do a little more than this week, I'm trending in the right direction.

I recently saw a video of a 700 pound man and his weight loss journey. For him, exercise was walking from one side of his very small kitchen to the other side. He literally started off with one "round trip". After a while, he made 50 round trips. Before long he was walking outside, which was a major milestone for him. Up to that point, he'd been house bound for years.

Maybe for you, it's an extra trip or two up the stairs everyday, or walking to the end of the block and back. Whatever challenges you today, is where you start. Once you establish this, forget about "routines" and do this every day until it's no longer such a challenge. That's when you progress to the next challenge, either by extending the distance or intensity.

I think we are all just trying to baby step our way through this! As my final pre op appointment gets closer I am getting more anxious and definitely frustrated with myself for not doing better but right now I can only do so much because if I do too much I will be below the requirements set by my insurance. I feel like I am just stuck with no forward movement as far as goals…

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
