Am I eating too much?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on April 20, 2022. I'm on phase 3 of pureed/ soft food. I'm wondering if I'm eating too much. I eat four times a day, each meal 1-4oz with high Protein. I also drink 64 Fluid oz of Water.

You should have been given a plan but i had surgery 2 days before you and i eat roughly that. typically 3 small meals a day and i drink a little less Water than you.

Well if you are eating closer to the one ounce per serving all day I worry that you may not be getting enough Protein. You may want to supplement with shakes. If you are closer to the 4 oz I think that is close to where I was. Everyone is different though. If your team gave you a plan I would stick to that.

I was told to eat three meals a day from the start of the 4th week onward, and when I say I was "told", I mean they really hammered it into me. Whenever I talk to the nutritionist at my surgeon's office, it's the first thing she's asking me about and the last thing she's reminding me to do.

You're definitely not eating too much. Were you given a plan to follow?

Seems about right to me. Everyone is a little different, some can eat a little more and some a little less.

Just stop when you are full or feel restriction, I assume you already do since you range between 1 and 4oz.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I talked with my team, and they said everything was going well. As long I hit my Protein goals and keep track of how much I consume everything is going perfectly well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
